"Base for discrimination" meaning what, exactly? az :D 15:48, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Something like "Your character is still a child/very young, so you are not experienced enough", or "glf players with age above 30!!" (similar to "glf Lightbringer r5+") poke | talk 16:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Why would anyone care? It's not like age would matter like title skills like Lightbringer and Ursan do. az :D 00:27, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

This actually sounds like an awesome Idea. I've always wanted to make a cranky old looking ele. -TehSlug

I would really like to create a teen character who looks sort of like me, I like this idea--Jerry 01:52, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Will probably get on your nerves though, making an 800 year old necro is fun at first, but when you want a young one again it should be changeable. After all it probably affects your chars looks even more than hairstyle. --Tenshi Samshel 15:44, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

I actually didn't mean that your character ages in the game, since that was a feature which annoyed me in Fable:The Lost Chapters. I meant that your character has a set age, whereas it's not an "assumed-by-looks" age. It would be a fun feature to some, including RPGers. az :D 23:37, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm removing the discrimination con. -- Gordon Ecker 08:10, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

actually this idea may work, look at dot hack when it came online, i wanna make a freakin 14 year old like me!!!!

A set age would be cool, but I would also like to see slight aging on my character, perhaps each month or year. It felt totally wierd running into Gwen in eye of the north and seeing her grown into a young woman, yet I looked exactly the same Malchior Devenholm 01:16, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I personally think age is cool as long as my character dose not have to age. I personally want my character branded with eternal youth. Unless old charr look all bad ass and cool.--Yozuk 05:12, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Aging in Fable was the worst. Thing. Ever. It's different than this suggestion. az :D 05:17, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
If you reserve the name Yoda, you might be able to make an old green Asuran with white fuzz. User Woop sig.pngWoop ‧ talk ‧ 06:29, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Make an age limit some people could just be perverted that's why at least over 18 and It doesnt matter different faces have a appearance of an age. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Kurtck1395 (talk).

One of my irritants in GW is that I could not create a character with some age on it. Why should all of the characters look like they are in the 17-24 year range? Not to age in game, that could get crazy real fast, but create a character that looks aged, wise, experienced, or been there and knows what life is all about. A mid-aged, hard eyed, matron of the bow would definitely add some class.

Exactly. ^___^ azaleachat 13:42, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
It could be a good idea, but it needs to be optional. Some of my characters are meant to be "immortal" in the since that they never age, and I would like to keep that. If it was optional then I would agree to it, but if not then I would say no. One of the two things I didn't like about Fable was the fact that my character could not have eternal youth (the 2nd was the lack of a female hero, but Fable 2 should fix that :D). --ShadowphoenixPlease, talk to me; I'm so lonely ;-; 01:50, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
It's character age not aging. Common misconception with this suggestion. I'll add that to the article. :) azaleachat 01:52, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
I like the aging idea. I think it's a good way to personalize your character. Those who think this will create elitism, get over yourselves. Regardless of what you do, you'll still have those selected few who think they are better than anyone else. That said this would be a great way to experience in game life. You finish one chapter of the story or as you go through the game, your character ages. Great concept.--Renjamin
But...that's not what this suggestion is about. I don't want my characters to be old farts. azaleachat 10:39, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Players should not have the option to create an older looking character from the start. Aging must be a time effect on the character (every year the character gets a new older look) There should be some professions / races or some skils which can make the character "immortal" in the sense of "remove aging" Some players like to look older and oders don't but "aging" is a very good idea. (G-Man)

No. Characters aging over time would suck. Stick with the suggestion of picking your characters age group during the creation process. Include the above mentioned limits on how young you can make them (and in turn how old). Though I feel the need to point out that this might take a whole lot more coding than set ages for all characters. I could be wrong but this might not be all that plausible. Shall meditate on this.--Will Greyhawk 18:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
If you people would read the article, it says "The character does not grow older unless otherwise wanted." Therefore, stop complaining about not wanting your character to get old, because this suggestion is "Age", not "Aging". azaleachat 19:35, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Um Azalea, I was more refering to G-Man's fail comment, and more or less agreeing with the suggestion. When I bother to comment, I've actually read what I'm commenting about, be it a suggestion or a comment made by someone else. Please meditate on this.--Will Greyhawk 01:07, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Actually, Will, I was referring to the comment above yours. What makes you think I'm always talking about you? lol azaleachat 11:08, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Paranoia I guess. -_-' --Will Greyhawk 14:41, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Having the ability to choose your characters age would be amazing but as long as you put a limit on it. Exp(Humans having a min of 15 and max of 80 years old) would be good then you could finally see the old mage that cool nuke anything or the child prodigy. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:71.240.29.222 (talk).

It seems like a lot of people are making assumptions beyond what is actually written. When I wrote the suggestion, I said "appearance". Not aging. Not battle capability. Appearance. azalea||chat 03:48, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Some Misunderstanding.

"Older characters might just be inefficient (I.E. a 20 year old warrior could easily beat a 50 year old warrior)". Apparently, people are stretching this suggestion to their own liking. There is nothing in the description that says that the age effects their fighting skill; only their appearance. azalea||chat 22:49, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, agreed. Also, that's a very subjective statement, there's a good chance thatthe 50 year old warrior would be better. Who knows.. ~.~ 24.7.141.45 20:38, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
