I really can't think of a reason why this shouldn't be added besides the difficulty to put it in.--The Gates Assassin 06:12, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Sounds like a WoW private server

sounds on awful like what some of the private servers on WoW do....some edit terrain and put npcs and enemies where they want

I've never heard of it. I don't play WoW.--The Gates Assassin 00:53, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Also sounds like GW will have healing. WoW has healing. Sence WoW is evil and we can be NOTHING like WoW we must remove every form of healing! </endsarcasm> It is a great idea, I myself have played WC3 but not WoW, but custom games were popular even then. On another note, people LIKE to create, and WoW was not the first game, let alone mmorpg, to allow player-created input. I myself would like to create stuff. Heck, you could even create your own private places just for friends and guildies to hang out at with this. Just make sure to implement models/NPC-characters from GW1 into the system (perhaps remastered to fit in with the graphics of GW2) for our use, along with icons. I fully support this idea. --Elven Chaos Elven's Talk Page 21:53, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
It does sound like Garry's Mod and that's what it is, a mod. I dunno if they'd consider developing all that before releasing Guild Wars 2, whenever that ends up coming out. They're running out of money and need a new game already! Certainly release it as an expansion you can attatch to your Guild Wars account and allow people without it to visit. Should be easy and safe enough security-wise to just press y and have a list pop up with player created content. This would be awesome for ANet's profit as it'd be its own advertising and doesn't need much work to develope. ANet create the environment easy enough don't they? They use models don't they? Whoever added the 'sounds like WoW' comment needs to understand that what players enjoy is what they enjoy. Be it the version of WoW, Heroes of Might and Magic, Garry's Mod, Age of Empires, Little Big Planet or Tony Hawks Pro Skater for that matter, everyone loves player created content. EVEN ARENANET! hah, builds, owned. Awesome idea, not GW2 but where else are you gonna put it? Spawnlegacy 16:44, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Edit Conflict x1 This suggestion is different than of the Guild Wars 2 Level Editor on the bias that:

  1. In LE (this suggestion) the created map is ran by the player for the player. In GW2LE (the other suggestion) you create the map vaugely, send it to ANet, bother the ANet team to fix it, and hope it gets implemented after all that (possibly wasted) work.
  2. In LE the suggestion is more descript on many things that should be added if implemented. This suggestion is by far more informative than GW2LE. GW2LE, well, just doesn't.
  3. In LE you can edit more than just the land and inhabitants around you, you can edit the number of skills in the skill bar, profession specifics, events, etc. In GW2LE you are limited to the skills and systems GW2 originally developed.
  4. In LE you do are not forced to worry about balance all the time sence itself will not affect the rest of GW2, as well as you can just make some fun mini-games and etc. In GW2LE, you're stuck with keeping the map balance of normal GW2.
  5. In LE you get a level editor made by ANet specialized and customized for GW2, comparable to the Warcraft 3 World Editor. In GW2LE you use the very same tools ANet used in the base creation of the game, which in turn is both more complicated and could cause legal issues.

For these reasons, these two suggestions are similar, but not the same. This is not a duplicate, but a different idea that shares a few basic ideas and similarities. If you think both pages should not both exist then move GW2LE under LE chat.
I request for the deletion tag to be removed. --Elven Chaos Elven's Talk Page 16:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

What is this about Gary's Mod? I haven't seen it but this is about the third time I've heard of it, could I get a link please? --Elven Chaos Elven's Talk Page 16:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Yep, I don't see any reason not to remove it after what you just said.--The Gates Assassin 18:08, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
OH and This is Gmod in action--The Gates Assassin 18:09, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Here's a good reason. Backsword 18:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
All that's irrelavant, and actually undermines your request. Which proposal you prefer is of no matter. And by comparing with the other version, you acknowledge that it exist, and thus that this is a duplicate page that will be deleted. Backsword 18:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Ever heard of case by case decision? Mine is 1000x more in depth and gives more ideas of what could be added. The other is a poorly written paragraph saying I WANT. The other is really different as well. It talks about how we should SUBMIT THEM? What? And then they make changes? If that was to happen, just find a way to join ArenaNet, because that's basically what it is asking for. Mine is like Gmod, as in you can make your own place and invite others to try it out. Tons more features, much better written, if anything delete his.--The Gates Assassin 20:22, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Agian, it doesn't matter who is "better". It's an maintenance issue. Page proliferation would destroy any utility the suggestion space has. Backsword 20:31, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
So in English...my suggestion is too long and hard to read for Anet?--The Gates Assassin 20:36, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Probably (except it to get buthered), but that's not the issue. You feeling entitled to a duplicate page is. Backsword 20:38, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
This suggestion is different than the other, which in turn does not take into consideration "better" or "worse", this idea is not duplicate, it just has something with a similar title that is not the same. We are not entitled to a duplicate, we are entitled to different suggestions that have enough difference in them to be seperated. I acknowledge that a page with a similar name exists and that it's contents are different, contrasting, and opposing enough to be unique and seperate. --Elven Chaos Elven's Talk Page 21:52, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Again, none of that stuff matters. You knew exactly what to compare with, thus recognising what page was duplicated. Backsword 00:19, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
So because I knew about the other Level Editor, even though my ideas came out completely different, they are automatically duplicates? What? The other one states he wants to make us custom make levels, as in we personally design the texture. I am saying we personally design the MISSION/ Goof off. They are not the same, even if my idea came from the other page.--The Gates Assassin 02:21, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I don't know if repeating myself again will help, but: The details of the proposals are immaterial. You knew the other page existed, you should have used it. Simple as that. Backsword 02:28, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Happy?--The Gates Assassin 03:07, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Fine by me. Be warned that someone else will probably cut it down to size. You may be happier with it in userspace. Backsword 03:16, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Yay for copyright issues! --Elven Chaos Elven's Talk Page 20:40, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
