SavageX's Discussion

This one only blocks melee attacks, thats why i think 30 seconds recharge would be ok, too. If its annoying, strip the ench. A. von Rin 03:24, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to see a 20 second recharge with a 1..12 second duration perhaps.--Skye Marin 03:37, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
If this skill would be altered to something like Guardian or Mirage Cloak, but for melee only (with maybe a higher recharge), then I think it would be ok. Or something like Shield of Force. The downside of this skill is currently that it spends too much time doing nothing, while Ward Against Melee defends your entire team. Nicky Silverstar 08:07, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm with Skye here. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 09:38, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
My ele currently uses Mirage Cloak for defense because the spell is far more reliable because it has no recharge and a decent duration. 15 energy isn't too much for an ele to handle either. This Magnetic Aura was buffed to be somewhat comparable I might consider using it over mirage cloak.--SavageX 17:20, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

The only time I've ever seen this or Swirling Aura used is for long duration recharge skills for Master of Magic and even then it's rare. Any skill that only is useful to support another skill is not doing its job. My one attempt to use this skill in PvP was in AB because I thought it may help against 'sin spikes but Expose Defenses and enchant stripping were in vogue and I netted exactly 0 seconds of survival time. I had some success with this skill in HA against warrior spikes before Factions was released, but there are too many ways to work around blocking, especially after the Evade/Block merge. See my comparison of this vs Whirling Defense on Talk:Magnetic_Aura. --Falseprophet 15:00, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Aegis + Whirling Defense = This skill (buffed). --Underwood 23:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

you mean either Aegis or Whirling Defense. Both are superior, IMO. --Falseprophet 23:49, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Funny...nobody has said anything about tanks here yet. ^^ 145.94.74.23 13:51, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, I'll bite - all the warrior skills are against Attacks, recharge much faster but have some downside (e.g. 33% speed decrease, can't move, etc). On the plus side, most opposing tanks carry stance removal but not enchant removal. On the minus side, most Dervishes have some sort of enemy enchant removal and most assassins have at least one skill that attacks through blocks or removes enchants (or both). Being a frontliner, you can get enchant hate from even the enemy backline. The best a warrior can get is 20s melee block out of every 60s (with R12 and a +20% enchant). I've seen very few warriors that bring a skill with a 40s downtime in any part of PvP. The biggest problem is this skill has gotten worse over time because of so many ways to strip enchants and bypass blocks. --Falseprophet 15:23, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Pretty sure this is self-target and no tank is going to waste his time with it. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 17:31, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
If this skill was made similar to Mirage Cloak, but only versus melee, it would be pretty balanced. 145.94.74.23 21:30, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
except the part where it wouldn't. --Frozen Archer 21:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Such a comment, without arguments, clearly shows a lack of insight/interest in this issue. 15e/0.25¼c/10r For 1...7...8 seconds, you gain 50% chance to block melee attacks. Tell me how that would be overpowered? 145.94.74.23 14:35, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
This really needs a buff. If it gets annoying, there are plenty of enchant removers like Rending Touch. Good players won't notice, bad ones get blocked. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.215.11 (talk).

The main page is wrong - there are two builds that use this, both of them being Raptor Farm. It makes it highly unlikely Rekoff Broodmother will get the 3 hit insti-kill (Twisting + two crits on assassin chain). That still doesn't make it a good skill --146.122.71.136 22:40, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

I never ever EVER count farming builds when making comments. As far as I am concerned, they shouldn't even exist. So they should never be taken into account when making balance suggestions. 145.94.74.23 09:22, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
