Re: the general format of Body block, Snare (tactic), Speed boost, Melee counters

There's description of the concept, overview and/or general usage tutorial, application by game type section, then xx by profession section. Sections are only included if they make sense. For example, I don't foresee an "application by game type" section for melee counters.

Future articles I plan on starting, in this format and in this category:

etc. etc.

Topics marked with GM probably also belong in Category:Game mechanics.

If people think this is a bad idea, please stop me now.--Drekmonger 01:32, 11 February 2007 (PST)

On the contracy, this looks great so far. --Xeeron 07:46, 12 February 2007 (PST)

I think it's a great idea. Other topic, when looking at Wipe do you think a section about preventing wipe would be better in that section? or in it's own "Preventing a Wipe" pvp tactics guide?--Narcism 10:15, 12 February 2007 (PST)

Personally, I'd probably add a section to Wipe and then include it in this category. But I'm not an experienced wiki type person, so i don't know what would be considered proper. I just do things first and then wait for people to tell me "no".--Drekmonger 13:39, 12 February 2007 (PST)

Note to self, forgiveness rather then permission. Perfect ;p --Narcism 13:42, 12 February 2007 (PST)

I like the idea of having these separate "Counter" articles. When Narc first mentioned them I thought he meant one page for every thing that needs to be countered, but I like the topics you've chosen. --Vindexus 08:17, 14 February 2007 (PST)

BTW[edit]

Guild Wiki's body block article [1] Guild Wiki's snares "article"-- [2] Guild Wiki's melee counters article -- None found. Plus I'm willing to bet half the tactics articles (dealing with actual tactics, such as Collapsing or Linebacking) are not on guild wiki.

I dig guild wiki and everything that community has accomplished. But the PvP articles we have here on guild wars wiki are x100 better, and hasn't been a full week. That didn't come from me <<=== I'm a scrub and didn't think up 1/10th of the good things that's in the articles today. It came from members of the PvP community, at least some of whom had no prior relationship with guild wiki.

I ask veterans of guild wiki, in particular, to strongly consider revising before deleting anything in PvP tactics. Be it a sentence, or a section, or a page. I personally want to see more here, not less. Some of what your might be deleting might have come from a first time wiki user who also happens to be an experienced PvP player.

Improvements are welcome, even bold ones. Please correct my stupid spelling mistakes, broken links, and flat out inaccuracies. Please do suggest better ways of presenting information. Please do add new tactics, new information, clarifications.

Please do not mass delete anything until you've discussed in Talk first.--Drekmonger 21:43, 12 February 2007 (PST)

Could this section possibly be split into pvp terminology and pvp tactics?[edit]

I noticed alot of the stuff posted in this section is terminology, not tactics. A possible plan would to split the terminology into a pvp terminology section. I think i saw one, and if so such links could be sent over there. Anyways, theres some clutter here thats unnecessary (like Frontline Midline and backline, theres no tactics in these, just definitions). Liokapelenoria 13:39, 14 May 2007 (EDT)

Moving or Spliting[edit]

Category isn't long enough warrant a split, regardless of semantic issues.

Disagree with the motion to move this category. A PvE tactics category could mine the same articles without subjecting this category to crap about 55 monks and other solo farmers, collecting phat loot on chest runs, or any number of other lame topic. --Drekmonger 05:13, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Missing PvP articles[edit]

Are there any relevant articles found here that should be located on this category? --Falconeye 06:23, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
