Walkthrough[edit]

During this mission, you have the Rage Burntsoul disguise, 550 Health, 50 Energy, 4 Energy regeneration.

This mission works slightly similarly to the Rise of the White Mantle - the player will have a party with them consisting of 2 warriors, 2 rangers, a necromancer and a mesmer. However, the player is in a slightly support role, and doesn't direct the actions of the other Charr directly.

Act 1[edit]

Players will begin with a group of humans coming in to attack them after moving into the first clearing. Once the group has dispatched three of the five members the remaining humans will flee. The player's group gives chase and eventually catches up to this group, who call to other humans as they bolt away. After 3 such groups, the humans will run into a larger group of humans, and a new messenger NPC will spawn and run down an adjacent path. Burntsoul will order to move after the main group, giving the player the "Seize Them!" skill.

A flare will go up and the humans will be on the retreat. The player will have to chase down the remaining humans, with one human (a boss) being kept just out of reach. The player's group will come upon the edge of the volcano Hrangmer, and must kill the human boss and the others that spawn upon engaging him. Once they get the boss down to 10% he will become friendly and plead for his life. Saevio Proelium (it is important to note that he will be a fire-type Titan and not a Madness Titan.) will appear and kill the human, attacking the assembled Charr. Once the player brings the Titan to 25%, he will become friendly and a short cutscene will play.

Act 2[edit]

The player will resume control of Burntsoul as the Human militia attack the warband. Once the initial group have been dealt with, the group will need to move towards the village, killing all those the group comes across. Once they move into the city proper, small groups will begin to spawn from the barracks at the back of town. Players will then need to move through the points, encountering a boss and a small group of related humans in the each location respectively - the temple has a monk, the town hall has a mesmer, the barn has an elementalist and the barracks has a warrior. Once each boss is brought down to 10% health, a Titan will spawn and finish them off, collapsing the building behind them in a burst of flame. These Titans will not follow the player, but will attack nearby enemies by themselves for a time. Once the town is flattened, the ending cutscene plays.

Discovery: Brutality[edit]

This discover is about being effective with the skills you have in your possession. The humans are fairly weak, but have a tendency to run. The couriers are not counted in this overall number.

Discovery: Swiftness[edit]

The couriers will split off from each of the large groups down small pathways which split off the main paths. When they reach the portals they despawn, losing the players chance. It is near impossible to complete both discoveries 1 and 2 in a single play through, due to the couriers splitting off, and the other groups despawning once they are far enough away from the player.

Discovery: Faithful Obediance[edit]

The other random buildings will each spawn a lower level boss (lvl 10) in front of them when passed. Players will have to kill these small groups as they pass them. Each group killed will increase the amount of enemies that spawn from the objective buildings, making this discovery progressively harder. There are an extra 5 buildings to destroy - the forge (elementalist), the stable (ranger), the undertaker (necromancer), the healer (monk) and guard tower (warrior).

Cinematics[edit]

Cinematic 1[edit]

The Titan barrells down sharpy towards Burntsoul, which makes the others raise their weapons in preparation for the fight. He stops short however, and explains to the Charr that he is pleased with display of force, and that they may yet be worthy of worshiping the Titans, with all the privileges that brings. To test them, he takes them to the edge of a human town in the shadow of the volcano, and instructs the Charr to purge the encampment with their new found mastery over fire.

Cinematic 2[edit]

The Charr group walks proudly and slowly out of the still burning village, the Titan in tow. A crowd of Charr comes out of the woods surrounding and approaches the group, whilst the voiceover starts. As it continues, the images pans out to see the assembled Charr kneeling before the Titan. The picture fades across to reveal the Charr shamans standing at their post in the Flame Temple Corridor, and finally settles on an effigy of the Titan. The voiceover reads like this -

"The Charr were not always the conquerors."
"Once, they suffered against a people who had something they didn't..."
"Gods."
"The Burnt Warband changed all that."
"The fury and power of the Titans helped them win the day."
"But it was a double edged sword, and all Charr learned something that day"
"With Gods, comes servitude to them...."
