Did this page really need to be on the front page of GW? —Jette 09:23, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Of course is has to :) Chinese ftw :D Willy sunny 12:28, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for adding this._. I'm adding somethings I could. But I thought there's no needed separate conscise description, they could share the same text. in fact it's pretty hard to make another conscise description. 謝謝開了這個專區,不過我覺得可以不用分簡明技能描述,用一樣的文字就好了--Tea Cat ._. 13:16, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Why can't I read this page?
Apart from the Contents, the Headings, the Variables and a few "%" symbols, this hole page just comes up as perpendicular rectangles. Im guessing that this a language issue with my browser but Im using the latest Windows Internet Explorer or what think is the latest Explorer. Or, have I totaly missed something here and is it just meant to.... repersent?....Demonstrate?.... something! It wouldn't be the first time that I've missed the glaringly odvious? Titan Crow 19:32 25 september 2009 (UTC)
- You don't have the correct language pack installed. Don't worry too much about it, it's just a translation project, because this language is not one that GW localizes into. -- FreedomBound 19:41, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
(edit conflict)
- You have to install eastern language charsets for your operating system. You probably can't display http://www.google.cn/ either. Elephant 19:44, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Cheers guys. So its not worth getting the charsets just for this then? Titan Crow 19:56 25 september 2009 (UTC)
- Not really, since it would just be in Chinese... And it would just say in Chinese what you can already read in English. -- FreedomBound 19:58, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sure looks nicer, though. The text won't antialias for some reason, though; I assume this is because M$ is bad. In any event, you need your Windows disk in order to install the language packs, so it's a lost cause for most people. —Jette 21:41, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

謝謝大家幫忙 不過請大家先看一下遊戲裡面的翻譯 像是stance是 "態勢" 而不是姿勢喔 energy storage是能量儲存 而不是能量存儲._. --Tea Cat ._. 05:59, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Project page
I have created a project page for this. If you are participating by providing translations, please go add your name to the participant list. Guild Wars Wiki:Projects/Chinese community localization Thanks! -- Wyn talk 09:30, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- thanks very much. --Tea Cat ._. 09:42, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- but Teacat, question to you, since if we are not going to touch the original translation if the skill has not been changed during these time, then shouldn't that project list to be alot shorter? Willy sunny 13:42, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Only those skills functional changed far from their oringially is needed(e.g. Primal Rage, still old function displayed in chinese: critical chance+25%, +33%AP, disable all skill 10 seconds). So , others are fine. It's not necessary change the translate entirely.--Tea Cat ._. 13:57, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- I am not actively participating in the project, and Jason has not fully explained to me the rules and purpose of the project, so some of the pages I created may not be 100% accurate (they contain ALL skills for each profession, or will when I am finished.) I simply wanted to get some sort of tracking system for the community to use, as well as for the benefit of the non-Chinese reading members to explain what was happening. Please feel free to edit it, add to it, whatever is needed to make it correct. I will finish the progress pages for the rest of the professions, and then Jason or whoever can simply remove the skills that aren't necessary. -- Wyn talk 16:00, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- That project page you created is great, Wyn. I didn't think about the formatting much when I set this up. So please feel free to organize into a way you guy think is organizable. It would probably be better if each professions have it's own page, that will definitely keep the page size smaller.
- Regarding this project, the rules are simple, users can add traditional Chinese translations for skill descriptions and new skill names. You guys can feel free to add more restrictions to it. Though I want to make sure everyone can participate, even they don't have a wiki account. We are doing this to see what the community reactions are for community localization. If this is successful, we may expand the project to include items name, NPC names, etc. Eventually, we want to open this to other languages. Ultimately, we want to allow players to translate GW into any languages, so more people can play the game in their languages and players can feel like they participated in the development. On the other hand, we will still keep our loc team and official translations. --Jason Yu 21:17, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think the guys are getting the hang of the Project page, and the tracking pages. I would suggest that additional discussion regarding the expansion of the project happen on the project talk page. It's more centrally located, and a more familiar location to most of the wiki community for such discussions. I'm doing my best to get the tracking pages completed as quickly as I can, but they are tedious, so I apologize for my lack of speed. I do not see any need to add any restrictions beyond what your group have imposed, certainly not in regards to the use of the wiki, but I would recommend that you not wait a full week to archive as the page is already huge to the breaking point for some browsers. Once translations have been marked as accepted, and the tracking pages are brought up to date, I would say they could be archived under the appropriate profession. -- Wyn talk 10:48, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I have one concern with the tracking pages. Skills are being updated constantly, so we can't call the translation "completed" even though someone has submitted a translation. Rather, maybe we can make use of the archive page. We only keep the latest translation in the archive for each skill. So people know what the current translations are. --Jason Yu 21:44, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Or someone could keep and eye on the skill updates and update the tracking page, so other users know which skill requires a translation update. --Jason Yu 21:50, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I have no problem with them being used in whatever way you wish, rather than the // format, we could do the last date updated, etc. Or we could leave it as it is now, and a member of the project can cross-reference them off each skill update and turn the or to if they need a translation. These are just ideas, and I am open to any workable solution, I just feel some sort of tracker is necessary for the community. Of course, if I am wrong/overridden by consensus, that is fine also. I was not sure exactly what the scope of the project was going to be, whether it was a one time translation or an ongoing project working off of each skill update as they come. -- Wyn talk 01:01, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Name Change Suggestions
Hi All,
Great effort from everyone. I don't play Chinese version so I don't know if some of these names have been around for a while. But just thought I would suggest some changes to skills names. What do you think of
- 公牛突擊態勢 -> 猛牛衝擊
- 快速劍 -> 百斬刀
- 獸性安慰 -> 獅王療傷 or 療傷之獸
I think 百斬刀 will better match the original English name. And 獸性安慰 just seems too exotic to me :) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Themiracle18 (talk).
- 改已經有的名字只會造成他們的不便而已 覺得先弄好技能描述比較重要
Changing current skill names is just adding their inconvience. I thougt we should correct those out-dated description first.--Tea Cat ._. 08:07, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- The project description "This project is designed to allow players to submit localized content for Traditional Chinese language skill names and descriptions" is quite misleading then...
So where can we find a complete list of "已經有的名字" and their out-dated descriptions?--User:Themiracle18
- The project description "This project is designed to allow players to submit localized content for Traditional Chinese language skill names and descriptions" is quite misleading then...
- Well, there's no such list. You just have to know which skills have different translation via in game language change Willy sunny 21:46, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- I like 亂刃 instead of 快速劍.森空翊 03:23, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'd like 北斗百烈斬 XD 121.254.78.6 03:30, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Regarding existing skill names
I apologize for all the confusion, guys. I agree with some of you that if a skill name has already been translated, we should keep it as it is. We will only translate the skills names that are still in English. of course though, you guys have to agree on the names first. --Jason Yu 21:00, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
English explanation?
Can someone please explain to me what the and marks mean? I'm really trying to understand and assist you guys but I really don't have a clue what your criteria are. -- Wyn talk 04:50, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well, if that's the case, I wouldn't suggest you participating in the translation, though we appreciates your kindnesss in helping out, but we just had enough of people simply throwing the text into a simple translator and make it look it like crap. But, to your question, the checked marked ones are checked by Jason and will be added to the patch, where as the red cross means it still needs improvement. Willy sunny 04:54, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks Wyn, but it's considered done o.o means Jason accepted the translated descrpition. means he didn't.--Tea Cat ._. 05:37, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to help with the translations, I'm trying to help with the wiki set up of stuff. So what you are saying is the ones with the have been accepted by ArenaNet and are complete. So those can be changed on the progress tracking pages and also archived, since this page is becoming so large that it will start breaking browsers soon. -- Wyn talk 06:49, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- here means Jason viewed and he add the yes mark. But there's no any change in game yet. If any of them corrected, I would move those to archive.--Tea Cat ._. 10:54, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I am just keeping an eye on the size of the page, so it doesn't become so big that it becomes difficult to edit. (Which it's getting very close to now, 150k seems to be the point where some browsers start to struggle). If you don't feel things should be archived until they are actually corrected in the game, then we should think about splitting each profession to it's own subpage to keep them usable. And thank you for your assistance in helping me to understand how you guys are doing this, so I can be of the most assistance to you and your project. -- Wyn talk 11:24, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, guys. Once the skill descriptions are marked , they will show up in game after the next update. I think we can archive them once I marked . --Jason Yu 21:31, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you everyone!
Hey, I really want to thank everyone who has helped and participated in this project. We are really really appreciate your efforts, and we are very excited to see all those translation entries. Even though it is a bit mess in the beginning, but I am sure we can make it better in the coming days. Based on what we seemed so far, we are definitely seeing the potential of community localization, and we are looking into getting more player and language involvement. --Jason Yu 22:01, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Legends used in the Project
與其現在現有的三圖示, 我認為我們應該要讓它變的更多元化
instaed of the current 3 symbols, I'd think that we should try to expand them to make it more reasonable.

Mantra of Resolve (PvP)
I know that Mantra of Resolve has recently undergone a change for PvP, yet I don't see that on the list of Mesmer skills that have been translated. Is a new translation needed? -- Wyn talk 12:07, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, but...intresting, if those are only changing of duration or percentage, the translation description would follow it, so Mantra of Resolve (PvP) looks fine currently, it's 5 seconds--Tea Cat ._. 14:09, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Some Skill Type Text Became 2 of Them
Thanks very much, but there're tiny problems. E.g. Bull's Charge shows Elite Stance. Elite Stance. Text Elite Stance has been applied twice..Many skills share the same prblem.
謝謝 但是有不少小問題出現...像是 公牛突擊態勢的說明便成 精英態勢:精英態勢: ...技能種類的敘述寫了兩次. 非常多技能都有這個問題...--Tea Cat ._. 10:05, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- Um...thanks for noticing, RedTeaCat. The problem is that we automatically provide "精英態勢", "戰嚎", etc in game. I will correct this problem by the next update. But in the future, your translations can skip that section. Maybe just have: 持续5...10...11秒,移動速度增加33%,每次擊中移動中的敵人,擊倒該目標,若使用其他技能則公牛突擊態勢停止。 --Jason Yu 19:27, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
