Finally![edit]
Excitement! 8D ♥ Tyloric ♣ 20:50, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- To clarify, I'm excited for the Halloween event. It's always been my favorite part of GW. ♥ Tyloric ♣ 21:05, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- I would gladly trade Halloween for my 7 hero party. Please allow 8 heroes with the Halloween update. 122.104.175.131 21:06, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- In my opinion, allowing 7 hero parties would only decrease the amount of people wanting to party, and I am not really for full hero parties. --'Mai Yi' talk 21:07, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's going to decrease the amount of people going through the game with henchmen. People that want to party are going to party. Everyone else will H/H the entire game. There won't really be any decrease in people wanting to party with other players. --71.72.231.80 21:12, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's an optional, that means it's optional 62.30.117.111 21:19, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- What? --'Mai Yi' talk 21:20, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm just amused that no one will ever add a henchman to there party again. Ever. Also, Costume Brawl > 7 Heroes. ♥ Tyloric ♣ 22:03, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- They never mentioned whether 7 heroes will be available from everywhere or just that outpost, so there may be hope for henchies yet! And... Costume Brawl doesn't count. --'Mai Yi' talk 22:12, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- I will. o.0 there are heroes I like and henchmen I like. Mixing them whilst being able to actually use more than 3/500 heroes is awesome. -- Wandering Traveler 22:29, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- Does anyone else supect the use of the xunlai market for this new 7 hero mission outpost? 188.222.77.162 23:50, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

People who dont have Nightfall/Eye of the North will forcibly have to still use Henchmen(or party with other players). You could say ppl will never use henchmen in NF/Eotn ever again, that would probably be 90% true. Aside, if someone has Eotn but doesnt have NF but still wants 2 monks in team, Ogden being the only Eotn Monk hero, he would still take Mhenlo/Lina...173.32.190.24 22:48, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- People will need to use henchmen until they actually get seven heroes, assuming we are allowed that many. I'd be happy if it's five. Xiaquin 23:52, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- I doubt they'll use the Xunlai Market outpost for Embark Reach. $20 says they put it where Team Arenas used to be. – NuclearDuckie 00:08, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Why do people think that the 7 hero parties will only be accessible in Embark Reach? Just because both things will be released in the same update doesn't mean they will be exclusively linked in the game. --Musha 01:05, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps people are just hoping the 7 hero thing will be regulated in some way. – NuclearDuckie 03:33, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- They need 7 heroes in GvG, actually 8 heroes. This means I can win GvG matches while I'm asleep, ANET is goood.--Silven 03:41, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Implementing 7 Heroes is no easy task. They have to change the skillbar Menu to have 8, change the equipment screen to 8, add numbers 1-7(Heroes) to party menu, change the compass so it now has 8 flags(one of them being the "ALL" flag), make new green triangle flags numbered 4-7, add keyboard shortcuts(optional to the player but available to change) for each Hero's skills #1-8, add new hero tabs and change the current ones in such a way that if you have 7 hero tabs on your screen, you can still "SEE" in front of you while still being able to keep track of your heroes, their skills&recharge, ordering them around, and their AI. Hopefully some ANet designer reads this and does not forget any of those, otherwise we might end up with buggy heroes that cant be flagged, keep overaggroing or never attack. 173.32.190.24 04:34, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

- Most of that is graphics, not programming. --Ellisthion/talk 05:58, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Putting them on the screen is graphics, but they won't do anything unless someone programs functionality, which takes much longer copy+pasting in photoshop. ~Shard 06:49, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not sure copy-pasting code should take longer than copy-pasting GUI. But jokes aside, they will probably need to redesign elements of the GUI for this to work and not be a mishmash job. Just imagine 8 flags around the compass or 7 hero portraits in the inventory, neither of those seem like they could be pulled off tastefully. They will need to find a way to actually add inventory, skill bar, and flag access to the party panel, or make a new panel for some of these elements. It really is more work than it seems, considering they have limited resources. --Adul 07:27, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- I like the idea Adul - I am all for an update and overhaul of the hero interface more-so than an increase in heroes to party. I think the UI is due for an overhaul in general.Tong2 09:19, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Tabs perhaps? -- Salome 09:29, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Would be great if they could also add a button to make your computer-controlled party members spread out for when you're about to take AoE damage; flagging each one separately would be a LOT of clicking. – NuclearDuckie 10:08, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Oh yes, that crossed my mind too several times while vanquishing. It would be awesome if there were different formations, one close by like the current one, one spread out, and maybe one or two in between. It would also help if they made a line formation, where all heroes would follow you in a single line unless in combat. --Adul 10:18, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Like the conga line formation lets hope for more tactical combat formations like: heroes make a run for the nearest obstacle and sit behind it, heroes run like noobs in all directions to pull as many mobs as possible, and after a wipe out heroes taunt you for sucking at PVE and call you as many names as possible while waiting for rez. Also, lets not forget missions where you can bring 11 heroes and get even more useful formations. 75.111.76.231 22:02, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- The Flag All button doesn't really work when wanting to avoid AoE damage as you heroes then just cluster round the flag and as such are still just as susceptible. Dakota 11:08, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- I think he ment that he wanted the button because heroes are hit by aoe, and after two seconds it hits them:
- "Hey, i'm standing in aoe, better run around IN THE AOE like a headless chicken and about when the spell ends walk to the edge".
- More of an instead of running circles still in aoe give us a button that forces them to get the hell out of it RIGHT NOW, kinda thingDemonicFahrir 11:14, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- "...Please allow 8 heroes with the Halloween update." Sure. they'l leave you behind and go kill 5 shiros at once.--Neil2250 15:17, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

When did they change...[edit]
...bi-monthly updates to tri-monthly ones? (I don't consider this an update tbh, it's just all copy pasta from last year and the year before and the year before and the year bef....) 82.169.222.223 19:58, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
