wondering if they're going to nerf FoW? ~~000.00.00.00~~ 20:54, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Players no longer receive Gamer point bonuses for consecutive wins[edit]

...?!?!!?!! NOOOOOO --BlueNovember 20:51, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

I agree. NOOOOOO!!!!!
how often are you planning on getting more than 11 consecutive wins? especially now that teams are randomised every match? User Purple llama sig.png purple llama 21:20, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Is anybody else unable to start Guild Wars due to a patching error after closing the game to download the update?

Costume Brawl[edit]

Ranger is OP, nerf pl0x. Reaper of Scythes** User Reaper of ScythesJuggernaut1.png 21:11, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Not to mention the sin build absolutely blows now.
Sin is absolutely fine for me. Every build this time has a good chance against some builds, decent to others, and bad against the rest. Sin, for instance, isn't that great vs. the dervish's build. -- Konig/talk 05:26, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
However, the dervish's build is good against everything. But that had to be expected from a spam profession. Koda User Koda Kumi UT.jpeg Kumi 22:50, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

New Costumes[edit]

Just went to Costume Maker...it says there are new Halloween Costumes available. I went to the In Game Store, but the costumes aren't there. When will the new costumes be available?67.162.250.171 21:12, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Did you see how that was under the section titled "Costume Brawl?" It's not a costume like Dwayna or Grenth's, or the White Mantle premium content. It's just the disguises you'll be wearing while playing in the Costume Brawl mini-game. --Kristofferus 21:19, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Not the Costume Brawl costumes.... go to the Costume Maker NPC and look at the choices he gives you. 67.162.250.171 21:23, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

I expect something to crop up within the next few days, maybe even later today. --Curse YouCurse You(talk|contribs) 21:26, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
They've said there will be new buyable player costumes, I believe. They're probably just not quite ready yet. Too bad, I was hoping for them today... (Edit: Oh my... "Raiment of the Lich" and "Lunatic Court Finery"...I really want to see them now.) Arshay Duskbrow 21:27, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Heres a pic someone posted on Guru. --Adul 22:10, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh shit...those Lich outfits are going to be everywhere. (Including on me, haha...) Arshay Duskbrow 22:16, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Whats that? a pumpkin head better than the original pumpkin head? well... ok! -70.0.222.241 03:40, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes! Melandru heard my prayers: pumpkin head festival hat for accounts yonger than 4 years. I have no problem that I have to pay for one.--SharkinuUser Sharkinu sig.png 05:47, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Game rewards have been changed to 15 Gamer points per win[edit]

I am getting just 10 points 77.0.102.224 21:24, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm still getting the same old score too --Smithy-Star User Smithyben sig icon.png 21:35, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Well of course. This is Guild Wars. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 04:43, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

THANK YOU![edit]

For bringing back the most annoying thing in the whole of Guild Wars. I was really sad when they nerfed the Yeti Tonic emote to stop roaring 24/7, but now i can go "boo boo boo" and keep roaring all day in Kamadan again(and other people are helping by doing it too). THANK YOU! 173.32.190.24 21:58, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

What do you think... they're going to break something that's been running for 5 years straight... And you know practically every monster in the game makes one of those noises... Do you bitch when those come around too cause if you do you might wanna just uninstall right now... ; \ You couldn't just turn off your game sound for a lil while y'know. :S 67.77.74.216 23:37, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
First of all, when you are PVE/PVPing, you can mute your sound if you want. But thats not the same thing in trade outposts where if you are waiting for someone to whisper you and buy your stuff. You turn off your sound completely? Then you just missed an important trade buddy cause you didnt hear "ding" someone whispered you. Most people who sell stuff put it in party search and go surf the internet(or other stuff like jac of) while waiting for a whisper "ding". To prove I'm right, they already nerfed the Yeti Tonic cause people complained about it so thats proof enough. Make the whisper sound outside of Effects, I turn off Effects Volume too, no more complaints.
Suggest it. I agree that the Ghost sound is quite annoying and I'm sure others feel the same way. It's quite obvious that the people who stand in a crowded town and endlessly spam Ghosts only do so to be annoying as well. --Irgendwer 00:27, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
I happen to like the sounds added to the environment of towns; it creates a festive atmosphere. I suggest adding a new sound option which allows you to remove the voice without removing the "DING!" Perhaps make the "DING!" it's own check-box? Food for thought. --Curin Derwin 04:35, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Little sounds like the sound of someone using a tonic are nice, but I am of the opinion that people should not have the ability to produce several minutes of unbroken roaring, drowning out all other noises. People should be allowed to enjoy sound without being subjected to that. --Irgendwer 04:47, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
"It's quite obvious that the people who stand in a crowded town and endlessly spam Ghosts only do so to be annoying as well." Unless, of course, they're wanting a certain title. The wraith sound is annoying, true, but to me, it's only the death sound that's annoying - the sound when they appear is what makes the ghost-in-the-boxes what they should be! Mind you, I wouldn't mind a removal of unlimited overlapping of the sounds (especially from a single person). -- Konig/talk 05:29, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) "Unless, of course, they're wanting a certain title." If you just want the title, you're free to choose the Squash Serum instead. If you don't choose the Squash Serum, you're free to spam your Ghosts outside. If you choose to spam Ghosts inside an outpost, you're free to use a sparsely populated district. If you choose to spam in a busy district, then all that remains is to decide whether you're griefing or simply inconsiderate. At least that's how I see it. If the sounds were limited as you suggest, people could spam to their hearts' content without the possibility of deliberate or unintentional noise pollution. Everybody wins except the griefers. --Irgendwer 05:56, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

They spam noise like Harley Riders, who only make noise because they are so needy for attention. See South Park:F-Word episode. There are many people like that. The guy from guild [CasH] who logs his 7 account in Kamadan-AE-Dis1 with Chaos Gloves just to show off and seek attention is actually making more people get "this district is full please select another" and blocks that district more. << That, I dont mind. The noise I do. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.32.190.24 (talk • contribs) at 06:17, October 22, 2010 (UTC).
If you don't like the noises, press F11 and turn them off. If you don't like what the people around you are doing, switch districts. -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 14:17, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Or...we could try preventing this obnoxious behavior instead of telling people to waste their time running away from it. --Irgendwer 17:33, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Guildwars.com[edit]

Why hasn't this been added the the game updates on the main site? -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 15:53, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Guildwars.com tends to get abandoned for a couple of weeks at times, during which game updates and news are not getting updated. It has happened a couple of times in the past few months. --Adul 18:31, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Even the updates don't get updated. Talk about failing at failing (no, this does not mean it is a win). 79.203.76.241 22:07, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Well technically it does. But still, what actually did this update do?User Sower of chaossig.jpg Sower 22:11, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
The same as most other updates: nothing useful. Welcome to GW. 79.203.76.241 22:23, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Maybe, instead of whining like a bunch of self-absorbed twats you might consider that the person who updates the website is currently at a conference. Just maybe, her whole world doesn't revolve around a website update for a bunch of people who think the world owes them something. Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk
Ide call an NPA there, but i cant argue with him at this point, Gimme teh updates pl0x.--Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 22:50, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Or maybe Anet should support their game a tad more, blizzard does a better job, even with their older games. Whenever someone "complains" about bad features (or in this case missing features) some fantard has to show up defending every possible angle, good luck in your fantasy world where criticism does not exist.... 79.203.76.241 22:57, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
  • shuv* (Edit conflict) Small difference, Blizzard gets £50,000,000 (ish) a month from its WoW players.--Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 22:59, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
This begs the question - they only have one person in their entire company capable of updating the website of their biggest game? They simply let the website rot when that one person is sick, busy or otherwise occupied? This isn't a question of a website update to appease the masses, it's a question of a website update because that's what companies do when they update their game. Valve has posts every time their games get patched. Blizzard has it in ten places, including the download manager that tells you what it's patching as it's patching.
This isn't about appeasing the masses, it's about doing some basic fucking website updates. It doesn't take a degree to update a webpage. -Auron 22:58, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
The main difference between Blizzard and Anet is that Blizzard is older and bigger. Though I do agree that just a little more resources should be tossed to GW1 - instead of acting like it's a skeleton in a closet. -- Konig/talk 23:02, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Basically they went: "fuck GW1, we now have GW2", which would be fine if they didn't further degrade the game with shit updates. I mean heck, Anet has actually gone as far as to make the expression "any update is better than no update" absolutely untrue..

GVG Changes[edit]

Anyone want to get pics? I don't play anymore but I was hoping to see screenshots. :P Mango 20:09, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
