IT NEEDS TO BE SAID[edit]
1 hour tonight to add a large change. Winds of Change ~Nelson (n122333)
- Proof or it didnt happen 82.176.8.4 19:06, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- hasn't yet. But it might.~Nelson (n122333)
- maybe it was a pre winds of change update, absolutely nothing has changed in game yet, but once they add the final coding things will start happening, maybe all of winds of change will be at once, as opposed to WiK which came bit by bit.Spark-TBa 19:19, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- proof of update, but nowhere does it say they are adding a large change. It only says maintenance. --Musha 19:23, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Is that not what happen with WiK? ~Nelson(n122333)
- No. What they did with WiK was announce it beforehand so everybody knew it was coming and to expect it soon. Before adding any content, they handed out fliers with secret messages and formed alliances on facebook and posted images with underlying images that could only be recovered by some clever photoshopping on their websites. Even after all that, iirc, they still had update notes on the official website. So when there was an update, we knew exactly what it was before anything was posted on the wiki. They've done nothing of the sort this time. Nobody knows when to expect WoC; no clues have been given. All we know so far is that this update was for some emergency maintenance. --Musha 19:50, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Opps... Bad example. XD ~Nelson(n122333)
- It's just speculation at this point, but the abruptness of the update without any warning says to me that the update must have been of crucial (usually security-related) importance. Given the recent spate of hackings on major game companies like Nintendo and Sony, this update makes me a little nervous... - Zaxares 00:20, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well seeing as i was hacked last week while on vacation (No it was not my fault, diff passes on every site, no keyloger, didn't give password to anyone) that might well be what it is. Lots of players in the last few weeks have lost all of their items due to it. ~Nelson(n122333)
- I have a guildie who had also been hacked just a couple of days ago so i would not be supprised it was a security update. Damysticreaper 11:05, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Disconnect[edit]
Every time I try to use my Expert Salvage kit, It says Network Error, Would you like to reconnect? Sparticuz 19:25, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- im not sure if this is the right place for that, ive asked my guild to try using theres and all are fine, you might wanna open a ticket to support, it may be an issue with your game client.Spark-TBa 19:27, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- There's an odd bug related to salvage kits (I thought it was fixed b/c I haven't experienced it in ages). The easiest work-around is to sell the kit to a merch and buy a replacement. (There are other things you can try, but they are less likely to succeed and take more time.) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:31, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- i used to have that bug, although i only ever experienced with a normal salvage kit and salvaging trophy items, to get mats, i thought it was made to happen to stop bot farming :)Spark-TBa 19:37, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Wierd...It went away on it's own... almost seemed like an Inventory server was down or something Sparticuz 19:39, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

- That was among the tricks I didn't advise (waiting it out); it sometimes works, but often not. @Spark: one of the devs commented on it awhile back; it was a bug that they were having trouble resolving (b/c it's hard to replicate, since no one knows the conditions that cause it to happen). I think eventually, they got enough people reporting when it happened, so the must have tracked down one/more of the root causes. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:46, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- This still happens to me, can even cause it too. Occurs when salvaging items too fast, some times the server will be behind the client's progress. Howto: salvage something (trophies work best as there are no dialog boxes), before the salvage result appears in your inventory salvage something again. High ping may also contribute to the issue. I've also bound doubleclick to a mouse button... On an unrelated note the size of the update was approx 448kb. Aro 22:02, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Happens to me a lot, but only when I salvage Very fast. Biz 22:11, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

- This should probably be posted on the Salvage Kit page, but... If you EVER have this kind of an issue, there is a quick fix. Drop the item on the ground, then pick it back up. Problem solved. The issue behind this is that every time you use a kit, that kit (with 10 uses) is deleted by the game, and a new kit is created and placed in your inventory, albeit with 9 uses (the uses are arbitrary, just to show the new kit has one less use than the previous). But dropping it and picking it up, you're essentially destroying the flawed copy and creating a replica. I've had the problem happen quite a few times, and through many trials and errors (mostly errors), I found that to be the ultimate fix without having to buy a new one. Esp if it's a perf sal kit, or charr sal kit in pre-searing. Cheers.--Kristofferus 22:42, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- I have seen this bug several times and from what I've seen it happens if you try to use the ID/salvage kit a second time before the first attempt finishes, this ties in with kristofferus's theory related to the destruction and creation of a kit with fewer uses. usually zoning will fix it if your in a outpost -- Tenri 17:33, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- I like that tip; cheaper than mine (rezoning has not been reliable in my experience). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:43, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Zaishen PvP quests to award Luxon or Kurzick[edit]
I thought they'd fix that. Previously Unsigned 22:05, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Dear ANet[edit]
Don't forget to update http://www.guildwars.com/support/gameupdates/ too. :) -- Kirbman 18:57, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- User:Matthew Moore is on it (as usual). He sometimes updates the wiki right away and gets back to the main site when he gets a chance (there's formal change control associated with guildwars.com; there's informal vetting here by the rest of us...which makes it easier for him to start at GWW). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:35, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Well guys[edit]
There goes our awesome emotes. Bye flaming scythe guy, I will miss you dearly.
I thought Anet liked when they had cool bugs in the game, like with the flaming pumpkin head effect going through tonics.
Oh well...71.194.87.164 21:28, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- Messenger Vetaura (flaming scythe guy) was one of the special Guild ladder emotes if you want him just go and GvG.. --The Holy Dragons 21:38, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
