Appreciations[edit]
Probably for the best at this point. Much appreciated that you guys are still trying to tackle the botting problem in PvP. Soldier198 (talk) 02:40, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- Agree and Very much appreciated for your work and efforts, thank you. Tikka LeFem talk (talk) 15:44, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
Is the leeching system the report function? Justice (talk) 01:04, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- I think it is separate. Tikka LeFem talk (talk) 06:42, 20 March 2024 (UTC).
- You can still report, but it will no longer automatically apply Dishonorable, so bots can no longer abuse the report function to ban legitimate players from PvP. You should still report those who deserve it. SabSparrow (talk) 06:06, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
As far as I understand, the bots reported AFK players. During the game on JQ (I scored 5,000,000 Luxon), I was blocked only 1 time, for the fact that I stood and did not run anywhere, because everything was captured. What we now have: 3-5 players in AFK are on the Resp constantly. In my opinion it became much worse. The current correction encourages AFK players. Lass Suicide (talk) 10:48, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- That wasnt a result of bots reporting you for being AFK but rather how the dishonorable system had worked. If you joined a match and didn't move for a long period of time you would accrue dishonorable points and potentially finish the match with enough points to cause you to become dishonorable. With the dishonorable effect now gone this cannot happen anymore, and you would be right to say that it encourages AFK'ers. Soldier198 (talk) 12:03, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- As someone who's been playing the weekend Fort Aspenwood on and off for nearly a decade I'm also a little concerned if it turns out that you can just leave without getting dishonorable at all (while I haven't tried this, it is apparently the case in other formats). If this really is true, while it'd mean you can't be held hostage by one member of your team not resigning an unwinnable game any more, but the minority who have always griefed out of pettiness have an easier time, or just people deciding to leave when they don't like the team that entered - which some people were doing anyway, even when people did get DH from it. In all the years I don't think I've seen a situation where alts/bots outnumber real players at FA more than a couple of times, and even when they did they didn't abuse the leech report function in the way it happened in RA. Hearing that the auto nonmoving DH is apparently gone from JQ also seems like it's going to be an issue in FA too. But, today's Friday, not long to wait and see what impact the change has in FA. - Even when dishonorable was applied for leaving early, people still did it. But it is true that this change is not a perfect one. I do think it'll reward afking too much now. Perhaps they could've only removed the ability to report players for leeching, as that was what the bots were doing in RA to stop players from playing. I mean really there probably isn't much they can do. Bots vs Devs is a never-ending arms race of better anti-botting technology and improved bots. If the games population was healthy enough that PvP modes were active 24/7, bots would be a non-issue since players would then significantly outnumber them. But we know that's not going to happen either. Soldier198 (talk) 15:24, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
