Patrick Wyatt

Is Patrick Wyatt still CTO of NCsoft West or are we down to 1/3 founders remaining?--SirBoss 14:56, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

No, it was down to 1 of 3 (just Mike) when the other guy (Jeff Strain) was moved to some exec position in NcWest. Now try to look at the reality of the situation: If Patrick Wyatt really has more interest in these Super-Grind Korean MMO's; then all of us who hate Grind, have probably benefited in some way from Anet losing him. Meanwhile, we got Eric Flannum who was the designer of probably the most memorable Missions/Scenarios most people have ever played without even realizing it. And obviously, he's front and center building Gw2 right now... So even if Izzy screws up the skill balance, atleast we'll still have the best "Events" and Scenarios around. --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 18:37, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
>He left NCsoft in August 2009 under amicable terms with the company. On November 23, 2009, it was announced that Jeff had founded Undead Labs, to create a zombie MMO game for the major consoles.
awesome. –Jette 20:08, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Good Point--SirBoss 20:53, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
we got izzy and martin therefore-> guild wars 2=awesome - Wuhy User Wuhy sig.jpg 19:44, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Right, because izzy's track record on creating balanced and enjoyable gameplay is stellar--TahiriVeila 15:48, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Was he was being sarcastic? ...it's hard to tell with whuy. --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 17:32, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Dunno. I assumed he wasn't b/c i don't know him very well. Plus martin's actual done some pretty solid work, so if he grouped the two together I assumed he legitimately approved of izzy--TahiriVeila 17:56, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Izzy? are you serious? He was the guy who buffed shadow form to invincibility. How can you expect him to be able to create balance then? --Boro 10px‎ 18:22, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
I wonder if he was also responsible for "Save Yourselves"? ...Regina? Care to comment on that-1? LoL... --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 18:59, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
I might remind you folks that Izzy is the same man responsible for the gem that was Prophecies and most of Factions (It had its glaring flaws). — Jon User Jon Lupen Sig Image.png Lupen 20:55, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
I know you're defending him on the basis that Prophecies seemed "balanced" when it first came out, but even us Vets were newbies then and we didn't know abusive from hydra farts then. But the class and skill designs made the whole game in Prophs a HORRIBLE place to be a newb Pugger. ...especially if you A) needed a Monk, or B) tried to get a team playing anything besides Monk. Many people never came back for the other chapters after that first sour taste... --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 23:02, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
It just struck me as ironic that people tear Izzy apart and say everything he does is crap, when he's also the one responsible for the things they hold up as MMO gold. That's all. — Jon User Jon Lupen Sig Image.png Lupen 07:09, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
The main problem I have with izzy was that he proved to be completely inept at balancing pvp. The Auguest 2008 and December 2008 skill changes and the attempts at fixing them literally broke high-end pvp for over year and a half, and a-net made very little attempt to solve the problems they introduced in that update. Izzy was not only responsible for that update, he was responsible for fixing it after, a job he neglected completely.--TahiriVeila 15:48, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Pat left ArenaNet in 2008 and joined NCsoft West. Last year, Pat later left NCsoft West to pursue something new. So he hasn't been with ArenaNet for quite a while, actually. Anyway, I can't really say anything about Pat's departure, as it's not my place to talk about human resources matters. I'm sorry. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 21:18, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
ugh human resources is usch a derogatary phrase =/ 127.0.0.1 00:24, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
it's what I called all my infested terran command centers. –Jette 00:30, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
When I hear human resources, I always think of the Strogg Processing Plant from Quake II and Quake IV. -- Konig/talk 00:34, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Sometimes I too wonder if we will end up being the same mind-controlled bestial killing machines. --Boro 10px‎ 15:22, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
