Feedback talk:User/Arngrim/Multiple Dyeable Components
I second this suggestion. Even a second dye channel on armor would be extremely cool. I always felt it was a bit bogus that Chiyo and other henchmen who wear player-craftable armor sometimes have a unique dye scheme, along with some unique weapons, while the players are unable to use a second dye channel. This change in GW2 would add a good amount of character customization and allow for players to make more unique and interesting color schemes for their characters. This is a good suggestion, as you may want to have some color somewhere on for example your armor but not all over it or in a few dyeable areas and everything else is undyeable. It would make people's equipment more unique and would (hopefully) encourage people not to just dye everything they use black/most expensive color(if there will be a more expensive color in Guild Wars 2 that is) The Slayer 16:36, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Not a bad suggestion, and I know many people have wanted it in the past. However I think that any more than 3 different dyeable areas might be difficult. Currently in GW1 (not known if they'll use the same system) the dye system has a layer of color overlaying the original base colored armor, along with another mask layer over that. This system only allows for one color to be usable. If they continue to use the same system, then the different colorable areas would literally have to be separate texture files that overlap onto the mesh, difficult to implement probably, but not impossible. Also, I believe anything more than 2 different colors might become hectic.--Neithan Diniem 00:43, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
well it appears as though this concept will be utilized for armor at least and hopefully will be used for weapons as well. ~Cookies~ 02:36, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
