Imagined Burden is OP. Confusing Images sucks. User Anvil God AsuraSignature.jpgAnvi God zzz... 12:54, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm...not really the type of feedback that is useful. The first doesn't explain why (altough i can gues it) and the latter one seems more of a personal opinion. I'll just up the recharge of Imagined Burden...for now. Damysticreaper 13:19, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
I know quite a few mesmer buddies who would kiss ya for these changes (hows that for feedback?), even at a glance the numbers look tight and in keeping with the current skills, so good job! ^_^ --Falconeye 04:20, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Lots of stuff to talk about, so:
  • Imagined Burden Imagined Burden I'd reduce the duration a wee little bit, so it's not an "almost-maintained" hex. Alternative things to do with it: Remove the attack speed debuff and revert the movement speed debuff to 50%.
  • Ineptitude Ineptitude I honestly agree with this change, so one mesmer isn't keeping a whole lot of it's foes hexed all the time. However I think it's not nearly enough. A casting time increase to either 1.5 or 2 seconds is in order due to fast casting. Also I'd either increase it's recharge (not so sure) or tone down Fast Casting's recharge bonus down to reduce the spam of it we usually see in PvE. Finally, you might want to consider Clumsiness and Wandering Eye to be toned down. These are the current overpowered and spammed spells in pve, sometimes used in 9 copies. No need to tell that it's both annoying as a physical, and overpowered if you're using the old tank'n'spank method of killing things.
  • Recurring Insecurity Recurring Insecurity I just hope it can't be reapplied to target when no other foes are in it's nearby range.
  • Signet of Illusions Signet of Illusions It's been one of my favorite skills so far, allowing my mesmer to bridge the PvE title gaps between maxed ot high-ranking players, and for a short time allowing me to do crazy stuff like having a lvl 21 ruby djinn, all that with 3s activation... I think that 1s or even 1.5s will be short enough when taking the +1...3...3 Illusion magic bonus, which is counted into the attribute the next spells are cast in. Attrib 19 flesh golems... scary thing...
  • Signet of Midnight Signet of Midnight The fact that this signet deals blindness in range for AoE is enough for it's elite status. I don't know if it's calculated for each enemy separately, but even if it is, it shouldn't be as strong as 1/4 cast with 8 second recharge dealing AoE potentially ~100 damage. A 10...45...54 damage and 1 second cast time should be way better, along with 12 seconds recharge to boot both in PvE and PvP (Imo no need to split then). Since you know that a mesmer can KD a warrior even with Bane Signet... They don't do that because of the smiting signet's prohibitive (20s) recharge.
  • Soothing Images Soothing Images In this case my problem is the long-lasting quickly reapplied hex that's been the bane of PvP and many PvE warriors since the early prophecies days (where long recharge was offset by crystal desert storm riders carrying multiple copies). I'd rather have it as a more easily applied, but harder to reapply spell, such as one with

5 Energy1 Activation time15 Recharge time and a 5...11...13 duration. Possibly 10 energy cost if it proves to be too powerful.

That's all for now.--Boro User Borotvaltgandalf Sig.jpg 16:16, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
I can change Imagined Burden back to a pure snare but i changed it into an attack and speed reduction so it has better use in PvE as well and not just PvP. For the 50% snares you have Ethereal Burden and Kitah's Burden (well maybe these 2 could use a scaling duration with a minor adjustment). A plain 50% movement reduction even if it has a degeneration effect just won't work in PvE.
Ineptitude i could give an increased casting time since Clumsiness and Wandering Eye both have a 2 second casting time but changing those 2 well i have to think that over and see how to do so. I'm not the type to just reduce damage and increase recharge.
For Recurring Insecurity i small description would would do since it indeed does not re-hex the same foe when no other foes are in range to pass it on to. But a function change is something i definitly don't plan on doing since such a function seems like a lot of fun to me.
For Signet of Illusion i see 3 spells using the illusion magic attribute with a casting time of 2 not very good. It can have good use with the title spells but for secondary profession spells i always failed to find a good combination outside the spell steal skllls or a good reason since a mesmer is better off using it's own spells and using wasting an elite just to use a few non-elite secondary spells with little benefit i don't really see as good. I plan on keeping the attribute bonus but i gues i could add a casting time to it to balance it out a bit better.
Signet of Midnight i designed as a skill to interrupt attacks like Signet of Clumsiness does and inflict blind on the interrupt rather than inflicting blind unconditionally. The knock down requirement is also based on Signet of Clumsiness and that being an attack skill and an attack skill only. Bane Signet causes a knock down if target foe is attacking while Signet of Midnight has to rely on an attack skill. Because of that increasing it's casting time from 1/4 to 1 second is definitly a no-go unless it's effect is made more unconditional. But i'll see how i can rebalance it to make it work properly.
Soothing Images i could work something out, already got something in mind to rebalance it. Well i'll see what i can do but don't expect to see Clumsiness and Wandering Eye just yet.: Da Mystic Reaper 17:13, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
