Would it also be okay if skill quests were to award all professions' skills to a character that successfully finished them (not just the currently active professions), plus turn certain Factions and Nightfall quests into skill quests as well to further create more opportunities to earn skills instead of locking them all behind gold, faction, and tomes? I have tried several 'classic' runs in recent years that involved locking skills behind their original skill trainers and quests, and I always ran into longer term issues where skill quests awarded more than two useful skills for my character/team.
If one were to assume chronological gameplay and no unlocking via other means such as PvP and microtransactions, obtaining skills for multiple professions at the same time would definitely reduce the overall gold required to fill out a whole account with permanently useable skills. I also strongly agree that there should be more skills obtained via actual gameplay instead of just via gold. Elite skills should be the biggest gold sink when it comes to skills, though even there it would be good to increase the amount of obtainable Signets of Capture via quests somewhat (or a lot). - Infinite - talk 13:34, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- I like the idea of getting all skills of a skill quest at once, it would be a good way to spare money and time on those skills at least. Cheaper signets of capture would be a good thing as well. Maybe reduce the maximum cost to 500g instead of 1plat for a skill. or even lower.
- Actually reducing skill cost at skills trainers may as well be the simplest solution. Like, what if skills were at 200g each ?
- On another note, I thought the title of this suggestion was too misleading ("more skills for PvE" may be understood as "entirely new skills"). As it doesn't seem like I can rename a suggestion, I put this ticket in "Resolved" then did a copy of the page to create a new suggestion at Feedback:User/Ruine_Eternelle/More_skill_tomes_to_encourage_creativity. I was going on the idea that tomes were the best solution but it was a mistake.
