Vision

The Army of Fairies Alliance's aim is to gather people of similar vision from across Tyria and unite them in equality. We will grow, we will expand and we will spread equality to all four corners of Tyria. We began humbled in Ascalon, we banished a vile plague from Cantha and we defeated the dark god Abaddon. Now we reach for the Far Shiverpeaks as we expand our ranks and prove to the world, that we, the Army of Fairies does and will always exist.

History by Sai the Long-Winded

Back in the days before Ascalon's grasslands were seared and its pastures wasted, there were a group of people oppressed by the community due to their choice of who to love, and in an apparently free world it was the Guilds that ultimately ruled Tyria and not the Kings, Queens or Emperors that the legends suggest. But no one would stand up to society and pretty much these people were driven underground forcing themselves to live as 'normal' people.

Many had the same idea, but only after the Searing was when one man decided that he would make a new home for these outcasts and he created the Guild, 'Army of Fairies.' It was not so much an army, but more of a social fortification that stood to prove to people that we exist and we shall not be pushed under the metaphorical carpet of civilization. As a result outcasts from all over Tyria flocked to the Guild.

This was where one man joined the Guild, he was only known as Profane Misery, his true name was known to only the few. Profane Misery seemed as loyal as any of the other members of the Guild but he shone the purest when the Army of Fairies was put through its darkest hour. The Guild leader vanished without a trace. Rumors say he was slain while traversing the Mountain range in the Ring of Fire, but the Guild was leaderless and panic struck the Guild members. Their iconic leader was gone and surely the Guild would soon crumble and they would return to being the outcasts they were before. But now people know them, surely they would be openly oppressed now that the Guild was about to fall apart.

Some fighters left in the confusion and some stuck it out to see what would happen. It was Profane Misery that stood up on day and declared that their once iconic leader is gone. It was the first true statement since the leader had not returned. It was this statement that in a domino effect caused everyone to look towards Profane Misery as a new reign of leadership for the Army of Fairies.

Profane Misery was, without any choice of his own designated as the new Guild Leader and all of a sudden the Guild was his to lead and guide. As his first act of leadership he made the epic decision to take the guild beyond the confines of Tyria and into the continent of Cantha where more oppressed people were screaming out to be liberated from the social confines of the masses.

It wasn't long before Profane Misery ultimately found himself involved in the Faction Wars between the Canthan clans Luxon and Kurzick. Making the noble decision to fight for the Luxons, the Guild praised his decision and proudly followed him into battles to make a new name for themselves as not only a group of outcasts, but a Guild of Heroes.

As the Guild became more popular, Profane Misery found deep inside Cantha, a small but noteworthy alliance of people sympathetic to their own cause. It was a historic find and soon the Army of Fairies was soon incorporated into their alliance and was soon earning their was to fortune and fame.

The Soulseekers Alliance was run by the Soulseekers Guild, that though a fluke rather than skill created the alliance since they were the one of the first guilds to ally themselves to the Luxons. Another member of the alliance was the noble GRIM guild, another guild of sympathizers with roots just as deep as the Army of Fairies guild.

It wasn't long before the Soulseekers ineptitude at managing an alliance began to fray at the edges. At first the leader of the GRIM guild tried to point out the folly of their ways but in a fit of rage the Soulseekers ejected the GRIM guild from the alliance. This was the catalyst that began the true doubt that the Soulseekers Guild was fit to run an alliance. The Army of Fairies guild was still in regular contact with the leader of the GRIM guild and when the Soulseekers guild collapsed in on themselves the alliance was broken and the Guilds were left to pick up their pieces. It was then that the true strongest guild managed to rise from the ashes and establish a new alliance with a much more stable foundation. The Guild who rose to lead the Alliance was the Army of Fairies, led naturally by the now heroic Profane Misery.

GRIM was invited back into the alliance fold with open arms and vowed to never let such things happen again and thus the new era began.

Now the third era of the Army of Fairies was about to begin, the Iconic Hero, Profane Misery and his loyal team of officers takes the Guild into the Land of Elona where they plan to liberate more of Elonas social outcasts and prove to them that even outcasts can be heroes, and even in a world where most people avoid them, there are noble guilds like GRIM that stand by their side and proudly claim to be their friends.

In advance of the Army of Fairies heading into Elona, the guild, 'Guardians of the Pride' was founded by one of the Army of Fairies own noble officers in an attempt to widen the alliances reaches even more. Led by the General Twilight, an elite soldier from Tyria ran down through Cantha to the Alliance home in matter of days to be sure of his alliance membership before the Guild ventured into Elona. The new guild, together with its allied friends march onwards to Elona, a land of new possibilities and heroics.

A Few Years Later...

In recent times the battle hardened members of the Alliance still smile freely as they watch their younger members take their first steps onto the adventuring paths that they too took all those years ago. Peace was glorious but war wasn't gone for long. The quakes shook Tyria as if calling for the heroes once again. And in true AoF fashion, the hero's answer clutching at their swords and staffs while their new Elonian friends grasp their scythes and spears ready to delve into the depths that lie under Lions Arch and the Far Shiverpeaks and once more to take their place in the stories of legend and the hall of monuments.
