Ascalon Emirates (ie: Princes of Ascalon) was formed on May 24th 2005, with an initial membership of two and is one of the oldest and longest lived guilds in Guild Wars. It is now the head of the Emirates Alliance with three guilds and multiple guildhalls.

Guild Wars 2 was officially released on August 28th 2012. When Guild Wars 2 became active Ascalon Emirates was reformed August 26th 2012 and much of it's original membership was invited. New with GW2 persons can be in multiple guilds but can only choose to represent and add glory and influence to one guild at a time. With only 2 active members for the first 3 weeks growth of influence has been slow so far but is expected to pick up as more members come on line.

Guild Wars was officially released April 28th 2005 and the Prophecies campaign was the only campaign. Many quests were not yet added to the game and the character classes and skills were undergoing constant revisions for game balance. Skill points were set in place and ability to move them once assigned was limited so that major changes were only posiable each level advancement. Many other changes were added in the early months improving the game and economic stability (such as material and dye traders). The final area to be added to the Prophecies campaign was Sorrow's Furnace on September 7, 2005 and the pace of changes to the game slowed in time for Mad King Thorn's visit to Lion's Arch for Halloween - Guild War's first Special Holiday Event.

Kathleen and Gary remained the only permanent members for many years until the guild began to grow with a steady influx of friends and family members. With the growth of the Guild and many new members Gary and Kathleen split their less used accounts off to form the Harnmasters Guild [HMG] and joined the two guilds to forum a Guild Alliance with shared halls and visiting privileges.

The current guildhall has been chosen for its peace and serenity: the Island of Meditation. The guildhall has benefited from the additions of several guild members with storage, Weaponcrafter, Merchant, Dye Trader, and Rune Trader. It is primarily a place of meeting and convenience. Access to guild battles, alliance battles and PvP areas is also available at the guildhall.

Now with the addition of the Tilesetters Guild to our Alliance there is an additional guildhall members can visit or to run Guild Battles / scrimmage matches from. The Harnmasters Guild is also available for a new guildhall though we have not chosen a Guildhall for that guild yet. Those who wish to have their own guildhall can do so and then add the new guild to the alliance - but doing so will result in extra trouble for that player getting back to the full amenities available in the main guildhall. (The extra guildhalls that are set up at the moment are attached to unused player accounts that don't experience this as a particular negative.)
