The Guilde Du Maintenon was founded by Magic Kiki and Saint Reyhan, at a time when not even Cantha had been discovered, April 15th 2006.
The goal of this guild has always been, and still is, playing for fun and having a good time.
For this reason, high-end PvP like Hall of Heroes and Guild vs Guild are not very popular in the guild. Still, the guild members enjoy casual PvP such as Alliance Battles or Fort Aspenwood.
Typical activities in the guild are Zaishen missions, vanquish, and elite zones.
Hall
The hall used by the Guilde Du Maintenon depends on season.
Burning Island in Summer, Imperial Isle in Autumn, Frozen Isle in Winter, and Wizard's Isle during Spring.
Thanks to donations by Magic Kiki, Saint Reyhan, and Galtian Lodrin, the hall provides all services.
Rules & Recruitment
There's one and only rule : courtesy. As long as this rule is respected, all problems have a solution. Respecting this rule is the only requirement to be part of the Guilde Du Maintenon.
Officers are the most active members, and must have spent at least a month in the guild. The officers' list is based on Anet's official last connection log.
Traditions
Several habits are typical of the way to behave in the Guilde Du Maintenon, all deriving from the courtesy rule.
1. Help members in need.
2. Don't sell to another member, just give. You can sell only the most expensive items to a guildmate, but with a significant discount.
3. Avoid the childish and rude attitudes such as : advertising in the guild or alliance channel, using caps, spamming.

Trivia
The name Maintenon refers to Madame de Maintenon, second spouse of the french king Louis XIV, in the 17th century.
The guild was named after a bar in Versailles, Au Maintenon, itself named after Madame de Maintenon, who also lived in Versailles, like many french kings.
The tag [CAM] refers to the bartender's wife's name, Camille.
