The Legion Of The Dauntless Knights [LDK] was founded on March 6, 2008 by players Hades Harlot (Suicidal Survivor), Aura Doll, Malicious Dead and Ancient Malachite after the unfortunate dissolution of the guild Loyal Order Of Loki [LOL]. We were briefly allied with the guild A Nice Place To Be which was also founded by former [LOL] members. We were allied later with a large European alliance until its leading guild dissolved the alliance to go Kurzick. During that time we achieved over 500,000 Luxon Faction in our guild alone.

In October 2008, we changed our cape for the Halloween festivities. During November through December Hades Harlot was replaced by player Darius Zanths as guild leader. The cape changed again in December for the Wintersday festivities. We are currently allied with The Killer Clan Musketeers. As part of our first year anniversary, we switched from the guild hall Isle of Meditation to the guild hall Isle of Solitude. In June 2009, Hades Harlot/Suicidal Survivor designated Guan Shire as guild leader. In November 2009 Guan designated Malikha Otete as guild leader.

Our guild philosophy is to enhace your game playing experience by being helpful, friendly and fun. We prefer adult members who are considerate of other members' game expectations and feelings. Although we dabble in everything and our members bring a wide variety of game expertise to the guild, we are primarily title hunters. We used to maintain around 300,000 Luxon Faction in our guild alone. We also occasionaly organize dungeon excursions such as the Fissure Of Woe.

In April 2010 Suicidal Survivor returned to the leadership position after taking a year off for personal reasons. Suicidal changed the hall to the Imperial Isle.

Guild Rules and Guidlines

These rules may be changed or amended at any time.

Activity

Log on and say “Hi!” at least once a month. Members who appear in the roster as having not logged in for greater than 2 months will be kicked unless they are on the Do Not Kick list. Nothing personal, no hurt feelings intended. When and if you start playing again, you will be welcome back!

If you need to take time off, please let an officer know so you can be added to the Do Not Kick list.

Help

Feel free to ask for help! The very function of a guild is to help each other overcome our obstacles and achieve our goals.

That being said, please don’t beg. You should at least try to do something once before asking for help – don’t expect people to play your game for you. Do Not Ask For Gold.

Language

Most guilds I’ve been in frankly ban the use of swear words. While this simplifies things I’d like to believe that we’re grown ups here and can mostly handle ourselves without being governed or censored by such rules.

The Officers and I are neither here to protect you from yourselves nor create a morally righteous environment. As stated above, we’re all grown-ups here, and you have a chat filter.

Swearing is not forbidden, but be considerate of others. There is a difference between letting one slip in a moment of glee and abusive language.

Abusive language is roughly defined as that which is excessive, gratuitous or directed towards other players in a negative way. I will assume that if you’re using language that separates a player out of the group by defining their differences that you intend to cause them stress, harm or unhappiness. This especially applies to racism, sexism, and sexual orientation. This behavior will get you kicked and you will not be welcome back.

We all have a sense of humor but sometimes we make a mistake in judgment. If your joke suddenly falls flat, apologize and move on. You’re probably just as embarrassed as we are :)

If your language offends another member so much that they feel they need to quit, count on following them out the door. They’ll be welcome back; you won’t.

Complaints

As a member in this guild you have every right to be happy in it! No guild is perfect forever and your input is necessary for the health of the guild. Be specific about your complaint and be prepared to back it up. Screens shots are your best proof. You WILL NOT be reprimanded for registering a complaint if it is founded, but we will take you only as seriously as you take yourself; if you create the impression of registering too many complaints or unfounded complaints, you will be warned and possibly kicked.

Give us some time. A lot of things can be handled right away and for obvious reasons. But some things require a little more digging into and a few more questions to be asked. It’s quite reasonable that we have to wait for some of the parties involved to come back online, etc. We can’t be fair to you if we’re not fair to them.

We all want something, and sometimes it’s hard for our needs to be met in a group dynamic. The Officers and Leader will do our best to fit your needs and wants into the community as best we can, but please don’t crucify us if we don’t.

Complaining about or setting a case against the guild in guild chat will result in your immediate booting! If we’ve made every reasonable effort to please you and we just can’t seem to, do the gracious thing and move on – there’s a guild with a better fit waiting out there for you.

Follow these steps if you have a complaint with:

• a. Another Member: If you have a complaint about another member, whisper to an officer. If an officer does not take any action (you might not see this action directly) then whisper the leader.
• b. An Officer: Whisper the leader. If it has gotten this far, chances are that I’m already aware of an issue and your input will be greatly appreciated.
• c. The Leader: Sorry, this is a guild, not a democracy. I’ve set up these rules to arbitrate as much as I can but if you’re still not happy then it’s time to find somewhere else where you can be.

Officers

The officers are the real leaders in this guild, and are empowered to solve most of the guild problems.

Officers have the full support of the guild leader. An officers’ judgment should be considered final. Only the leader can overturn it, and probably won’t.

Officers are players, too – Please respect their play time.
