Who we are

Founded January 1st 2003, The Mature Gaming Association [MgA] was founded back in the days of Diablo. The guild was comprised of people who enjoyed playing with each other in a casual setting without all of the bravado and l33tspeak that had become, and remains, so pervasive within the gaming community.

Still today, the MgA prefers a casual approach to gaming. We are parents, grandparents, career people, homemakers and students and, as such, we understand that gaming is a hobby and that real life takes precedence. We stress importance on mutual respect, helping one another and, above all else, fun.

Every member is important to us and we make it a point to know each other on a first name basis. We are more than just people who game together online, we become like family.

MgA is a member guild of The Mature Gaming Alliance (formerly The Ultimate Genesis Alliance). It is an excellent, Kurzick aligned, alliance comprised of guilds of like minded values. We have a great time together and when an alliance group sets out on an in-game adventure, there is much death and carnage and fun is had by all!

The Mature Gaming Alliance

MgA has always been dedicated to creating a mature, casual and enjoyable gaming environment. When Guild Wars introduced the ability to create alliances, we saw this as an excellent opportunity to expand our in game "family" and find other like-minded guilds.

Soon, we found ourselves in the rather enjoyable company of Ultimate Genesis. Their guild values were much like our own and we all enjoyed playing together immensely. (Not to mention that foes died incredibly horrible deaths in our combined presence.:)

Our guilds joined together to form The Ultimate Genesis Alliance, which has now become The Mature Gaming Alliance. (Different name, same great folks.)

After a time, we came to know The Guilded Rose. The members of Rose were warm, friendly and quirky.. a perfect fit for the personalities already found in GEN and MgA. They, too, enjoy and encourage a casual and mature gaming environment and they made a splendid addition to the MgA Alliance.

On the lookout for more great guilds to join our already spectacular alliance, we had the opportunity to get to know and game with Knights of the New Republic. They are a group of outstanding gamers, and fun individuals which we decided to have accompany us on our quest for building a stronger alliance.

Guild Recruitment

Recruitment is done via our website. Once registered on our website, prospective members can browse our forums and get a feel for who we are. If one finds that the MgA is a place they'd like to call home, an application is submitted within the New Applications thread in our forums.

Once an application has been submitted, the leadership of MgA and the applicant will play together in game so that everyone gets a feel for each other and it can be determined if it is a good fit all around; for both the guild and the applicant. Assuming a good fit, an invite is sent to the applicant and he is welcomed into the MgA family.
