Candidate statement[edit]

Hi, I'm Halogod35 requesting for sysophood.

I just want to say, that I feel that there are some sysops on this wiki that sometimes are inactive or slow. Since I am very active on this wiki and am always on the wiki everyday, I feel that I can keep the wiki a clean place and bannhammer vandals quickly. I do have experience as a sysop from another wiki, so I know what to do if I become a sysop.

My major contributions to this wiki is helping other people's userpages (creating and designing them), and keeping all 1k+ skill pages in correct format according to guidelines (plus every code that belongs to all of them such as |aoe = adjacent). I get along with all the users here on the wiki, people won't have to feel intimidated to talk to a sysop.

Thank you for your support (or opposes within reason), I hope I will be a great sysop in this wiki. -- User Halogod35 Sig.jpg Halogod35 22:39, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Support[edit]

  1. Support. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 22:43, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
  2. SUPPORT!!! Having knowledge of being a sysop already is always good. She is a laid back person, the personality i love in Misery and Pling. I'd like to see more admins like these two. That why i say yes to Halogoddess! - J.P.ContributionsTalk 23:36, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
  3. Support As per J.P.'s reasons. personn5User Personn5 sig.jpg 23:38, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

  5. Support Halogod has helped me a lot on this wiki, and provides many answers to the many new visitors of this site. Although there are some times where he shows bad qualities, (i know for sure he is a human, like everyone else, and makes mistakes) are made up for the good ones. Being helpful to all & having great knowledge (not just of wiki code), he will make a good admin. ¤Dark ';~;' Chaos¤ 18:14, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Oppose[edit]

  1. "My major contributions to this wiki is helping other people's userpages" We don't need more Wyns. -Auron 00:09, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
  2. Oppose. While Halogod might make a decent janitor, I have major reservations when it comes to his ability to handle discretionary tasks, and this wiki doesn't particularly need more janitors. It may well be that he possesses an abundance of intelligence, common sense, good judgment, etc., but I frankly have not seen any edits or comments from him that especially indicate those qualities, nor have I seen him demonstrate above average knowledge of policy or engage in admin-like behavior--out of a total of ~6000 edits, Halogod has a mere 59 edits to the GWW namespace, most of which are related to RfAs or bureaucrat elections. At best, this is a "why not" RfA. — Defiant Elements +talk 00:36, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
  3. Oppose: Again, someone whom I like but don't think they need to be an admin.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 00:49, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
  4. Oppose. Halogod's described current main activities do not require sysop tools to continue and in no way will improve those contributions. From what I believe, based on the fact that someone doesn't just change his likings (of helping with user page creations etc.) because of some status change, the only thing we get will be another janitor. And as DE said, we have enough (active) janitors to keep the wiki clean. They might be slow as you said (or I would just say lazy or bored), but I don't remember any time where there were not enough sysops online to handle accute incidents. On a side note, I don't get how sysopping for other wikis is now seen as something positive whereas before it was a more negative thing when mentioned in the statement... poke | talk 07:19, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
  5. Oppose. While I see that you are very helpful to users and made some nice contributions, I can't but notice that you haven't done any hardcore wiki-job. For example, I can come to Poke or Wyn or Auron or pretty much any sysop and ask them about policy stuff, and they can answer me with a clear mind and I know I can trust it to be policy-sticking. I don't know if you have the ability to do that, as well as the patience and or experience to handle the sysop tools. Keep your rate and gain more experience, and then you'll have my full support. 6. Oppose. As per Auron and DE. NuVII User NuclearVII signature 3.jpg 16:17, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
  7. Very Weak Oppose. Per a lot of what DE has stated. I have no doubt that you would do a great job with the sysop tools (and you're about as good of a robot I am), but I'm not quite seeing where they'll help you in daily activities. Something I realized when I went through my RFA is to stick to what you're good at doing. For me, its mindless tagging. For you it may be helping userpages (or something else that you always do), which, for both cases, does not or may not need the sysop tools. I'm not saying GTFO, but I will need to see a bit more...active, I guess? Just a bit more editing in the main/GWW spaces. Nevertheless, good luck. :) --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 21:41, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
  8. Oppose. The janitor team does not currently need more hands, and you don't need admin tools to rickroll people or spam welcome templates. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 22:43, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
  9. Oppose As per Poke and Defiant Elements. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 00:29, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
  10. Oppose While i don't think you would misuse (or not use at all) the admin tools, i have to agree with DE in regards of discretional tasks. Also, i have some concerns regarding RC spamming.--Fighterdoken 00:47, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Neutral[edit]

  1. Neutral. Random sampling the most recent main and talk space posts, I don't see any reason that this user requires additional tools/powers to continue to act as a powerful contributor.   — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:07, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
