Trivia[edit]

Matrix
Slightly reminding of, well I don't know... Trinity? =P Biz 13:08, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah when I read it directly saw Trinity on top of the roof saying "dodge this!" to an agent :)
Only in the English version of said film. In german, the line goes something like this: the agent says, "Only a human/man", and Trinity replies,"Only a machine". --Kyle van der Meer 21:14, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
IMO it has nothing to do with Matrix quoting. It's really popular phrase that was used here and there(not only in the movies)--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:84.17.11.18 .
Agreed, just like almost all other shouts ~ KurdUser Kurd sig.png 11:31, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
I guess when I say trivia, I don't mean the authors original intentions. I mean, this resembles something else that was hugely popular for a while. More like a fun fact. It doesn't have to be helpful, just interesting to read. Kyle van der Meer 14:27, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

This skill is a reference to the matrix? Do you see anybody holding a gun to anyones head? Wow that's the worst supposed reference ive seen yet. I won't remove it, but somebody should, that's just stupid. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 19:06, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

But it's official. See: User talk:Emily Diehl/Trivia archive#"Finish_Him!" --Valshia 19:13, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
I'll promptly go shoot myself. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 21:21, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
The connection is obvious. <3 Trinity. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 12:23, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Trivia maniacs (like myself) FTW! AbedeusUser Abedeus Sig.jpg 19:51, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

This trivia is stupid, not everything is a referance, I mean, these people do have some of there own ideas. and if your stubborn on keeping that trivia, please have the decency of at least write "Could possibly be a referance to the Matrix" 75.58.121.127 21:54, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Dude, its an official reference, see above.... 192.203.160.241 23:56, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
For once, a decent reference. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 1.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 22:42, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Guesses?[edit]

I bet it makes your next attack unblockable. Maybe even for all allies in earshot. --Heelz 13:14, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Im guessing that it punishes targets who block. (Terra Xin 05:36, 14 August 2007 (UTC))

+X dmg to target if blocked +Z dmg and target it knocked down (one dead agent =P) Biz 07:34, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Best on a non-warrior.[edit]

Just want to point out that, since there's an adrenal cost, this skill doesn't mesh with adrenal attacks. Probably strongest on a derv or ranger. — 130.58 (talk) 21:43, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Bad edit, but. Use on WE Axe with Power attack for an unblockable spike. 86.10.251.162 12:46, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

dual[edit]

Next attack gets +x, since a dual attack is a single attack with two strikes, does it do strike+x strike+x or is it just strike strike x? Єяøהħ 23:25, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

On a Rt/A with 0 Dag Mastery and Peppermint Daggers vs 100 AL target in Temple. Never exceeded 1 damage on normal attacks. Nine Tails Strike + "Dodge This" yielded a hit of 29 and then hit of 16. It only affects the first hit of a dual attack. RitualDoll 23:51, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

I never really understoof the inherent chance of double strike on daggers any how...doesnt work with attack skills and most single affects only work on first hit. I mean that makes sense since in two hits only first is affected...just having dual striking doesnt make sense to me. Is that the only non-primary attribute with an effect (other than higher %c-hit) to give an addtional bonus per rank?--Justice 16:27, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

What if your next attack is a scythe attack or some other AoE melee attack (like Cyclone Axe or Whirlwind Attack), will it make the attack unblockable for all enemies your attacking, or just the one you're targeting? 81.68.104.213 15:05, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Good Skill for a Specialized Adrenaline Warrior[edit]

This is a good skill for a warrior that specializes in adrenaline skills that wishes to carry something that can damage a creature that constantly blocks without sacrificing his energy. When used with Slash or Gash it allows you to strike with +15 and created bleeding or deep wounding. The only other way to stop blocking is to use energy skills which are few for anti-blocking and using up Energy, precious to many warriors.

This is just my thought however after testing it in play against the Defending the Breach Quest. I think it helped me win the quest.

Bloodstone 02:04, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

how does this affect barrage? will all the arrows that hit get the damage boost? - life in vain

"your next attack" always means only one more attack, so only one of the arrows will get the bonus. - Y0_ich_halt User Y0 ich halt sig.jpg 22:46, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
This is terrible with adrenaline skills. Not only do low adrenaline skills hamper your adrenaline gain, but an adrenal attack can't gain the benefit from this shout unless you use signet of aggression after you use the shout (lol). -~=Sparky User Sparky, the Tainted charr sig.PNG (talk) 00:28, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
That's why I use this in my Glass Arrows build. GA, Scan, IATS, Dodge This!, Point Blank Shot. Whoops, 200 unblockable dmg. Pastafarian Hunter 08:31, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Notes[edit]

the remark about it being especially useful for paragons is a bit off I think, as it yields only 1 energy max. Better run Gfte. WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 01:55, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Oh, its self shout, so does it refresh all echoes on you? --Bargaw 14:50, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but does it mention that in the notes? :) 04:00, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

I use it to...[edit]

...keep up damage-per-second on my Assassin. I made a PvE build for her and tested it on the Master of Damage on the Isle Of The Nameless, and it kept her DPS high enough to be better than my Blades Of Steel attack chain. My assassin attacks as such: "I Am The Strongest!" --> Asuran Scan --> Golden Fox Strike --> Fox Strike --> Nine Tail Strike or Death Blossom --> "Dodge This!" --> rinse and repeat. I gave her Shadow Refuge for healing and Way of Perfection to make Golden Fox Strike unblockable. Her average DPS was 98, and her highest DPS was ~200, done at 3 seconds in (Golden Fox Strike --> Fox Strike). By the time she's done with her quick attack chain, "Dodge This!" is charged and I use it immediately to keep up her DPS between chains. Thoguhts? ~ A R A ~ 04:13, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Scythe[edit]

Will this work on two/three scythe hits? i know it doesn't work on dual attacks, so I would assume not. 71.163.44.146 21:07, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
