Talk:Asura Gate

No doubt the Asura are related to the Goa'uld. This menace must be stopped! We must destroy them, before they destroy us.. and all of Tyria! -- User Outpost Ky.jpg Outpost (talk | contrib) 05:28, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

The Goa'uld, didn't create the gates in the Stargate series. The Asura created the gates in guild wars. -FireFox File:Firefoxav.png 05:42, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
True, it was the ancients, but if I didn't relate the Asura to the Goa'uld, how else would I showcase them as evil? Relate them to the Ori? Besides, the image of a Asura talking in a deep, creepy, echoing voice, threatening to slaughter all of human-kind is just funny! -- User Outpost Ky.jpg Outpost (talk | contrib) 15:02, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
By comparing them to the Asurans or Goblins :D. Anyway, the Goa'uld do have a lot of advanced technology even if it is mostly inferior knockoffs. -- Gordon Ecker 00:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Fear the Asura, as they will ascend !!! But seriously, aren't the asura arrogants? The ancients were too. And both asura & ancients are very powerful (asura with magic, ancients with technology). The ancients could been the source of inspiration for the asura... Or not :) Monk-icon-small.pngKijitalk 08:11, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

No doubt, someone on the Anet team is a Stargate fan though! -- User Outpost Ky.jpg Outpost (talk | contrib) 22:17, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Asura is to gnome as Guild Wars is to WoW. As much as it's been said that both games are totally different and shouldn't be compared, it's obvious here. I'd say they are like gnomes, not goblins as goblins are taller (and cooler!). File:Esig2.jpg Eldin 16:15, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
You've got it all wrong! The Asura are really the long lost Furlings that we've heard about over the years! The Alterrans (ancients) did build the Stargates, however, they were also in the 'great alliance of four races'. Which included, Alterran, Tolin, Nox, and Furlings. Seeing as how the Tolin and Nox had much similar technology to the Alterrans and even had Stargates on their planets, who is to say the Furlings or any others didn't help in the construction of the Stargates?
It's all one giant inter-dimensional conspiracy I tell you! The next thing you know, General Jack O'Neill (with two L's) will show up in the time travelling puddle jumper (not gateship) in the middle of Lions Arch! -- Anonymous 11:15 21, October 2007

How long will people realize that so what if they are similar? Thats like saying we should bash Unreal Tournament, Quake, Bioshock, Doom, etc. all because they are the same type of game. Just as all of these are FPS type games, so is Guild wars a MMORPG, and so is WoW, and everquest, and a lot of other games. RPGs will have similarities, there is no way around it.

Right - the Great Alliance was of the Ancients, Nox, Furlings and Asgard. The Tollan (Or Tolin as you wrote there) are nothing to do with this alliance, and they did not even know about the Nox until Earth introduced them. Also, we dont really know much of the Nox's technology, apart from the fact that they can bring people back to life, make things invisible, and have a flying city. They are in no way in the same technological places as the Tollan, they are way more advanced. The Tollan were also in no way in the same tecnological places as the Ancients - the Tollan being only around 1000 years more advanced than Earth, and Earth being primitive compared to the Ancients. Sorry about the lecture, I just get really annoyed when people get Stargate lore all muddled up :P. And btw, I always imaged the Asura being similar to the Asurans... and not just because of their name. User-brains12-scale-sig.png brains12- - 16:18, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
You mean the GW Asurans are actually biomechanical weapons created by a superior race to destroy a whoopsy their builders accidentaly created? Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 03:04, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Exactly ;). Well no, I mean they are incredibly scientific and arrogant at times. -- Brains12Talk 16:22, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Asura are Hindu demons?!?!?

Ha! I love stargate, glad to see it in my favorite game (besides Elder Scrolls Franchise). Lucian Shadowborn User Lucian Shadowborn.jpg 17:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Split[edit]

I disagree with the split. There's no need to split the article between a mere icon and its lore. Besides, there's a third aspect: Interactive objects. All three can easily fit onto the same page. -- Konig/talk 12:38, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Indeed, no reason for a split. Disagree.Animalbrad 06:31, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
