It seems to stick around...[edit]

I did the original quest for The Orchard who knows how long ago, but the basket still sits happily there in the trees. It even still spawns spiders for me as I lug it along. Is this normal, or have I encountered a bug? Lady Chani 05:36, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

It sticks around even after the quest for it is done. It seems to be that way for many items, but some do go away once they are no longer needed. 69.182.188.82 15:31, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Increased drops[edit]

Ok so an IP added a note saying the basket will increase yoru drop rate... can this be confirmed? sounds like hoax... I dont have a pre char to check this out... I would assume with nick being around and this item being around for so long that a peice of info like this if true would have been long since discovered... Nop,it seems true- after me farming scale fins,i let my fire imp summon kill them and i seemed to get a drop from Every foe.--Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon4.jpg. 20:10, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Sounds fake to me. You usually get a drop from every foe anyway! --76.114.80.153 03:28, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
I have a pre character. I could try this someday. - J.P.User J.P. sigicon.pngTalk 03:31, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I just tried this, and I found no significant increase in drop rates; if anything, they seem to be lower while holding the basket. My samples are admittedly small, so feel free to perform more trials if you don't trust the following data. Until then, the anomaly note is going down.

With basket: (I held basket the whole time; imp dealt 100% of damage to spiders.)

Trial # spiders killed # drops droprate
1 10 7 70%
2 13 12 92.3%
3 12 8 66.7%

Without basket: (I carried the basket, dropping it the moment a spider spawned and not picking it up until all were dead; imp dealt 100% of damage to spiders.)

Trial # spiders killed # drops droprate
1 12 11 91.7%
2 13 13 100%
3 13 12 92.3%

(2 years and half later...) I am afraid but the observation above done by Mme. Donelle is failed. Without the Basket of Apples means never picking it up in the first place, just leaving it there. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji (talk) 09:49, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
Well ofc you're going to get less drops if you don't contribute anything to the fight..(i.e. arrangement 1) Chieftain Alex 11:18, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
Yes, proper farming should be without the Fire Imp (or the summoned ally will steal drops). And proper testing must be: is there no additional spawns if avoinding walking near the Basket of Apples at all? In other words: Do the quest related extra spawns, appear as well without the Basket? If the answer is yes, it means that neither the quest nor the bundle item make a difference at all and the statement is false. Except that Summoning Stones don't steal drops? :O Jeree95 13:33, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
