Talk:Blood of the Master

One thing that should be mentioned is Blood of the Master seems to heal other Minion Master's minions as well. This can cause serious and unexpected life loss.

Question: Masochism is triggered for each extra '2%' life sacrificed? That is to say, if I have 5 minions, and Masochism gives 7 energy, will I receive 42 energy? Likely not, but I haven't tested.

no because it is all sacrificed at once.. not different 2% sacrifices.. 24.141.45.72 01:42, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

What is the Range of that Spell? The Description says nothing so it's suspected infinite.

Radar range. --Lou-SaydusHow dare you put that damned dirty thing on me! 17:23, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't like this skill. It just seems to me, that simply raising another minion is a much better alternative. But i know everyone else seems to love it. I don't really use necros so far, but my hero will never have this on, and when i monk i hate necros who damn near kill themselves with this skill. Roflmaomgz 18:19, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Hero AI usage[edit]

Anyone have info on the hero AI usage? My current theory is a hero will only use this when 2 or more minions go below 50% health, and not use it if only one goes below 50% health. 60.48.227.2 16:02, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Bad wording[edit]

The concise description has TERRIBLE wording. I don't know if the concise description changed since I saw it last, but it implies that you only heal your minions, and not other allies' minions. Anyone else get confused by this or think ANet should change it? Netpassport89 10:48, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

I concur. I was very confused to see Master of Whispers use BoTM and spike himself for ~40-50% health, draining my monk's resources. It is very confusing that it heals the allied minions as well. This is a really bad skill tbh, I'd much rather use Heal Area (or heck, screw healing minions in general). --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.70.253.188 (talk).
Blood of the Master used to have Heal Area's functionality, healing only adjacent minions. It was horrible for in-combat healing due to minions moving out of formation. If you're raising that many minions reliably, either don't bring it, or disable it on the hero's bar during combat so that they only use it to keep minion's alive between enemy groups. Note revert[edit]

Have you actually tried this or did you just read the description? Because the concise one only includes your own minions. Technically the full one would imply it'd also heal your allies in Sanctum Cay etc. Jeree95 (talk) 14:40, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

It means minions, but it heals any party member's minions, probably allies' too. --DANDY ^_^ -- 14:49, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Testing it shouldn't be too hard...--Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 14:51, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
If you find a non-party member NPC that makes minions. Fairly sure those are healed too. --DANDY ^_^ -- 14:52, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Jeree, please tell me where you see a bug : the text says all undead "allies". I wouldn't be surprised to see it work during Sanctum Cay.--Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 14:59, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
If only y'all stopped editconflicting w/ me :D Jeree95 (talk) 15:03, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
I didn't even notice the first note until now, I'm using my phone so missed it. As for the testing, Nola Sheppard creates minions. Jeree95 (talk) 15:04, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
I'd wage "undead allies" is just old Proph term for minions, doubt it *actually* healed allies in SC. Just pointed out the text anomaly. Jeree95 (talk) 15:07, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

48 minions[edit]

i thought this wasnt possible any more since the update like 10 years ago--98.116.168.53 16:09, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
