Really need to do the following change.[edit]

They really need to change this for ONLY daggers, this is quite a ridiculous skill and everyone is going to abuse it for there warriors etc. Shinjinbukai User Shinjinbukai.jpg 00:00, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Abuse it for what? DoA? Lightblade 00:05, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
ANY weapon based damage class can use this according to the description -FireFox File:Firefoxav.png 00:06, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, but DAMN, this skill is EXACTLY what us assassins have needed!
Guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it changed to Daggers only. Are right, just what Sins have needed. :D ~ ReaperAssassin-icon-small.png 05:19, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
This skill needs to be changed to Daggers. It is so easily abused by a D/A its not even funny and the D/A could 'waste' a slot by taking Malcious Strike for the critical and have something that causes a condition.
How can it be abused in PvE? -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 11:47, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I guess nothing can be abused or overpowered in PvE and that 'broken' only applies when pawning humans and not a computer? My main beef with these skills is that for some reason Anet made some of them so easily used by secondaries and some quite hard to. I wouldnt have a problem if Anet decided to make all of them easily used by secondaries or none of them but the fact that some are and some arent is, to me, a bad idea. I compare this skill in its secondary use to say Seed of Life (the monks) or Cry of Pain (the mesmers). Sure they can be useful but its not something as easily used as Necrosis (the necromancers) or even this. But what do I care I flipped my Warrior to W/A and took this Whirlwind Attack and Malcious (to keep this skill up all the time) and destrying things fast. I would say if Anet wants these skills easily used by secondaries they should limit them to only 1 on the bar but that could start of firestorm of protests. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:76.190.233.156 .
I agree that it would make more sense to have each PvE skill much easier usable by its primary profession then a secondary, but it's not an abuse at the moment. And I just noticed that Seed of Life is the only skill that is solely usable by its primary profession. (Although Eternal Aura favors its primary profession too.) -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 12:13, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Changed[edit]

I changed the description of the skill. To "Skill. For 4 seconds and 1 second for each rank of Critical Strikes you attack 33% faster and gain 10...22 armor. This Skill reapplies itself every time you land a critical hit." After the update just now. Proof of change 1 Proof 2. ~ ReaperAssassin-icon-small.png 23:46, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

The only problem is that the skill is kinda bugged right now. It reapplies but not with the right duration. When the duration is more then 4 seconds left it doesn't change the time left. But once it gets under 4 seconds it will reapply till 4. Cause of this the skill is kinda useless and i am waiting for a bug-fix - Damadmoo 08:19, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Shame, my warrior liked this skill. But then, I can totally understand that they had to change it. --Xeeron 09:47, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
hmmm it's still bugged... is it just me or did they lower the critical rate formula... I was getting about 60% crits now in 20 seconds i'm lucky to hit 2 criticals. Rcollins779x 12:52, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Yah I had noticed that bug last night while doing GoM. Hope it does get fixed soon. I love this skill. lol ~ ReaperAssassin-icon-small.png 17:00, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Dagger R/As get a nerf, hammer A/Ws get a buff. Fantastic. - Tanetris 20:16, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
I haven't seen any hammer A/W's in PvE or Dagger R/A's for that fact...Anyways bug has been fixed for Critical Agility; Updates. ~ ReaperAssassin-icon-small.png 01:13, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
I've at least heard of hammer A/Ws talked about as a concept, but I'll admit I've never seen one in person either. As for dagger R/As, I've beaten Factions with mine. Only time she wasn't daggers was for Unwaking Waters, where we desperately needed the interrupts. - Tanetris 02:51, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
The problem with hammer A/W is that all its got is a decent defense from critical striking. It's got to be able to bypass blocking too or at least get around blindness to be a doable build. Otherwise, it's simply another easily avoidable Wammo build. Though, there could be potential.. --Eyekwah 15:07, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Wow i gues the monsters where complianing about Human skills being over powered... o.0 68.240.123.182 07:51, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Pssh ,theirs are quite overpowered, but they don't hear us complaining (too much). If this skill weren't an enchantment, or if it's duration were longer (or if it recharged faster), then it would be worth using. Most of the time, it's completely useless, because it either gets stripped, or it ends before you even have time to reach the next group.
Thats called every enchantment in the game except for Faithful Intervention. Welcome to the world of ending enchantments. Tearh 22:05, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Where can I get this skill?[edit]

Hi iv been to the hero trainers in nightfall, with my factions based char and this skill is not there? why might that be?

It's only available from the trainers listed on the page, and it's under Sunspear skills, not Assassin. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 13:59, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you!

Fastest attack speed ever?[edit]

Critical Agility + Locusts Fury = Fastest maintainable attack speed in the game right? I know there used to be a note about it. I found the note to be rather helpful in constructing many assassin builds. Perhaps it should be placed on the page? EDIT: Sorry, forgot to sign72.161.106.177 20:47, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

No, since attack speeds are capped at 33%, unless a skill on its own bypasses the cap.

Are you dense or what? crit agility brings IAS up to 33%, while locust fury effectively increases attack speed by increasing dual attack chances. 76.66.39.56 17:35, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

It wouldn't be correct to call it an IAS; a pseudo-IAS if anything. Besides, you should spend your elite on something not lousy.--99.230.145.201 00:12, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Elites arn't lousy because you can't find a use for them when you read the skill description. I suggest you find ways to make double damage useful... Tearh 22:07, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I've read a bit of the recent Locust's Fury debate too, thanks. My opinion on this skill is that it is doubtlessly inferior to Moebius, scythe, and other meta builds in most PvE situations. Save it for Locust's talk page.--99.230.145.201 01:40, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Locust's is inferior to MS/DB until you manage to stack something like +75 damage in buffs onto yourself. At that point, locust's surpasses MS/DB. 98.248.90.248 01:57, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Teamwork says hi. Mark of pain, great dwarf weapon, barbs, strength of honor, etc.... There are a lot of ways to abuse the fact that locust's fury gives you a ridiculously fast effective attack rate. Necromas 04:18, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Unless you're hexed with Empathy or SS, Critical Agility + Locust Fury is an excellent combo. I always use it myself and I've never had any reason to complain about it. Silver40596 01:56, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I have since realized that in PvE, Jagged + Fox + Blossom spam gives you an effective attack rate very nearly that of a locust's fury auto attacker (because of fast activation times and DB being two hits), and so does Blossom + Moebius spam, so there's really no reason to do a locust's fury build since other builds hit only a little slower but do tons of attack skill damage (much of it AoE from blossom) to make up for triggering MoP or whatever slightly less. Necromas 02:55, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
I use both CA + Locust's Fury as well as Jagged Strike -> Wild Strike -> Death Blossom. While the combo in itself is usually good enough, it helps to have a really high attack speed so that you can get some extra damage in between skill uses. Sometimes you can't get things to activate right away, or you don't want to waste a few parts of an attack chain on a nearly dead enemy, so just autoattack at those times and you'll be better off. Silver40596 01:42, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Necromas is absolutely right. Fastest "Save Yourselves!" spam in the game? A/W with Locust's Fury + Critical Agility (and you can add "For Great Justice!" just for kicks). That'll help your party! Start with the fastest attack rate in the game, and add buffs creatively. I don't even bother with death blossom builds anymore.--71.185.41.90 21:49, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Maxing the additional armor[edit]

I'm fearing the answer to this, but judging by the statements on Armor rating#Overview, does this mean that reaching rank 10 sunspear negates additional armor buffs, assuming Crit agility is applied first? G R E E N E R 22:02, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

From skills, yes. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 22:04, 2 Dec 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, though I've saved myself a bit of consternation as the skill always reapplies itself at the end of the stack. G R E E N E R 22:32, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
