Talk:Draw Spirit
Can you use this to bring spirits past closed gates? (Is it actually a teleport, instead of a shadow step, like Summon Spirits?) --Srakin 21:24, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
This needs a buff..the range makes it nearly useless24.8.76.2 00:57, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Rains
agreed with the fellow above me, draw spirit needs a buff. it will NEVER see use in pve due to summon spirits being far far superior. this is very rarely used in pvp outside of gimmick things like destruction spike. its a pain to use, and only 1 spirit teleported at such a bad range is usually not worth it. proposition: increase range of the spell AND --- teleport all spirits you control to your location..increase cost to 10, or recharge to 10sec..or leave as is.
OR. lower cost to 1 energy, maybe decreasing recharge to 1-3 sec and just allow you to draw 1 spirit at a time. this would not be overpowered (i.e. the more time you focus on moving spirits the more time you are compromising your own strategic location) anyway either of these changes would be imo balanced and much deserved for rits, since ritualists suffer severely from poor mobility and spirits die so fast anyway.--Celtus 22:10, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Possible Use...[edit]
For Duncan The Black? I've never fought him, but isn't he surrounded by six or more spirits that respawn when you kill them? How about moving them behind a rock or a staircase so that they can't hit anybody? Or does Duncan teleport them back? Any thoughts? ~ A R A ~ 21:40, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Swap is already used for that. This can only target allied spirits. -~=Sparky (talk) 21:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Aha. Well, I suppose I've over-looked a few things then. Thanks for the feedback. ~ A R A ~ 05:31, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Not a teleport[edit]
I tested this today out of curiosity, and this skill is NOT a teleport. The spirit shadow steps, and you cannot make it go through closed gates and bridges, unlike teleporting with Rebirth or Necrotic Traversal. It works the same as Summon Spirits, which is correctly described as a shadow step. Rose Of Kali 06:55, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Heroes?[edit]
Could this be useful for Heroes? An Infuriating Heat Ranger using this would be good.--81.151.114.190 21:31, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Not for IH, because it's 5e to recast it and 15 sec recharge, so u're wasting a skill slot if you take draw for it. May be worthwhile for long recharge (60s) spirits. Rose Of Kali 11:29, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Does it change ownership of the spirits? If I (player) pull Xandra's spirit of anger, does it become mine?
Targeting[edit]
When used, does the spirit need to be targeted explicitly, or will it default to the nearest spirit to you/your target? — Raine Valen 2:05, 10 Dec 2010 (UTC)
How To Make Useful[edit]
Draw spirits never will, and has no need to, replace Summon Spirits in PvE. However, this skill could be quite useful for PvP rits if the functionality was changed to the following.
"Your nearest spirit is summoned to your location."
This functionality would extend the summon range beyond spellcasting range and to spirit range instead, thereby giving the ritualist the choice of granting a single spirit mobility at the cost of a skill slot. This is how the skill should've functioned because as it stands now, and as it has always stood, Draw Spirit has virtually no use in the game. Doing this would allow a rit to always have a spirit in earshot range for the use of skills etc... A problem that has persisted since factions was added. 68.198.97.123 20:52, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
