So what exactly are these guys if they're not demons? Not only that but who or what created them? Is there any lore on them? --68.32.187.152 23:57, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

They seem like a thing between Nightmares and Insects... Paddymew 08:48, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
They seem to be an 'alien' race like the Mursaat. One thing seems to be sure, they are intelligent, and have those little hands to handle stuff. I think I've have seen them with scepters.MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 12:28, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
They're Dhuums minions. --Dragon7 cape emblem.pngThe Holy Dragons 13:22, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Unconfirmed theory. There are some that are born from the Spawning Pools, there are some in Tyria which are currently completely unrelated to those in the realms of the gods, and there are the Tortureweb Dryders which are affected by the Lightbringer's Gaze, implying a servant of Abaddon. It's like saying that all nightmares follow Menzies because of the Shadow Army. -- Konig/talk 22:12, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
There's also the possibility that they're minions of the dead spider god Arachnia, though this hasn't been confirmed as canon. There's something intriguing about them though. – NuclearDuckie 12:03, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Possible trivia?[edit]

I was flipping through the pages of the Dunegons & Dragons 4th edition Monster Manual, when I found an entry for a species of dark elves called "Driders" that are blessed by their evil god. These have the lower body of a spider, and are usually dark colours. Trivia mention? Paddymew 14:38, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Add it if you want. Driders have been around in D&D since forever, basically. Also, lol 4e --Jette User Jette awesome.png 14:43, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
Well I didn't know how far they went back since I started playing recently and I didn't want to post anything that wasn't a fact :P Paddymew 21:39, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
It's actually a punishment, not a blessing - Driderhood is imposed on those drow who fail a test set by their deity. Unless that's one of the things that got changed in lol 4e. Draxynnic 07:39, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
I raged so hard at the rules, I was too busy cleaning up the froth coming from somewhere out of my mouth that I never got around to reading it. I do know they totally redid Lolth and all her buddies, though, so it's entirely possible. As far as I'm aware, however, it's still pretty high on the list of things you don't want happening to you. —Jette User Jette awesome.png 11:33, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

As a side note, driders are drow who failed Lloth's (or Lolth's) test.

As another aside, Lloth was a bitch to fight... - Vik 05:36, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
