Congratulations on your observance, whats the big deal really there are many more places with much more, revealing images. I don't really see a problem. Ever see Greek art? Weaponmaster 00:44, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Dwayna pregnant?[edit]

Maybe it's just me but it looks as if she's 'showing'. Probably just me, misplaced my glasses. >.< 000.00.00.00 02:18, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I think that's a combination of her armor and the artist's style. Also, why isn't she blue? I liked her blue. Also, invest in monitor glasses -- it's this cool thing I heard about where you put your prescription on the monitor itself on top of the screen so you don't have to wear glasses to see it. I also hear it makes everything 3d but that sounds made up. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 05:27, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Er, I don't think she looks pregnant ... Also, there's a blue version of her by the same artist; it's basically a rework of this for the dervish avatar concept. She's got hip ridge or something and an actual navel, but still has some actual, erm, body to her body. But then, this artist draws women who eat a dang sandwich once in a while, instead of the deformed crap that causes the phrase "game designer's portrayal of women" to have meaning. --Star Weaver 07:04, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
"lives in frigid sub-zero environment"
"wearing a LOINCLOTH FFS with majikc magnetic metallic bra that has ABSOLUTELY NO METHOD OF STAYING ON WTF and NOTHING ELSE"

I thought they were just largeish metal w:Pasties ^_^. (Heck, if you were planning on turning into a giant friggin bear, you think you'd want to wear as little encricling clothing as possible. OTOH, TvTropes has something like MagicClothingForShapeshifters in its archives, so ...) --Star Weaver 17:33, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Doesn't look pregnant to me, so much as holding in a sneeze.12.6.238.154 20:06, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
With the exception of Melandru and possibly Lyssa, I don't think the God(esses)s are portrayed with any flesh whatsoever, underneath their armor. With Balthazar, he looks like armor filled with fire. Grenth has no exposed flesh, but glows green, suggesting something other than just skin beneath the robe and gauntlets. So, it seems that, while pinkish, Dwayna's "flesh" is something like air, her element. In the enlarged picture, her flesh seems swirling and inconsistent. Do you disagree? 141.165.171.240 00:32, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Due to it being concept art of the avatar form, I would have to disagree, and that it is flesh - the human's flesh - though it is blue in the final outcome. -- Konig/talk 01:13, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Patron x Matron[edit]

I decided to edit it to Matron because it is the term used in both Lyssa's and Melandru's pages, so I went for consistency. However, seeing my edit was reverted, it would be interesting to change the other goddesses pages to "Patron" as well as Dwayna.--Sensei 16:33, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Done. Also, the manuscripts say "patron", in case you're not convinced by my reason :P. -- pling User Pling sig.png 16:51, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Could it not be that patron in the manuscripts be, perhaps, a typo? :P -- Konig/talk 18:44, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Personally matron sounds better to me, however with English not being my native language, I'll trust Pling and the game manuscripts on this one. Thanks. ;) --Sensei 19:19, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Although patron sounds masculine, in this context it is the common umbrella word for a benefactor any gender. Matron is not generally used for feminine patrons, but rather certain typically matriarchal hierarchies such as head nurse or head nun... nursing and, broadly speaking, religion are the usual associations of that word (speaking as an Englishman). So Dwayna would be a patron, while her high priestess might be a matron :) Cirian 18:19, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
Technically, Dwayna is both a patron and a matron. She's the leader of the Six Gods, and the patron god to some people. :P -- Konig/talk 19:43, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
Ha ha :D Cirian 16:27, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Google fight, patron goddess vs matron goddess -> 444000:6280. This is totally the scientific way to decide anything. Misery 16:33, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

possible trivia[edit]

I was running around the interwebs, and found this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhyana of "Dhyana" which is a Hindu meditation state. Maybe there is a link? -- Pixy | Talk User pixy hand.png 08:14, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Patron of monks[edit]

Isn't Dwayna the patron of all monks? This implies that she is https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Monk_of_Dwayna but is there a source saying otherwise? --41.132.133.109 12:54, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
