Deletion[edit]

There are many other similar articles throughout the wiki with just as much or less information than this article. I see no reason why this should be deleted. And the orphaned reason is an articial reasoning - i.e., Erasculio (the one who prompted the delete) removed the link from Melandru. -- Konig/talk 12:25, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

The reason for the article not being orphaned is artificial; Konig (the one who removed the delete) added the link from Melandru after the orphaned note had been added here.
The problem with this article is that it's pointless. Its only source of information is the scripture of Melandru, which is the only place where Ewan is mentioned; it does not state any more information than what is found there. Since Ewan is only mentioned there, the only place this article could be linked from is from the scripture of Melandru, but said scripture already is all the content found in this article. That's redundant to the extreme, and the same reason why Desmina (from Grenth's scripture) does not have an article, while King Doric (who appears in Dwayna's scripture, but is also mentioned in many other places) has his own article. Erasculio 12:34, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I added the link because I thought it was there before. If I knew it was orphaned before, then I would of linked to it from Melandru's article. I don't find the pointlessness of the article. What if someone searches "Ewan" after reading the Scriptures of Melandru? What will they find? Nothing, so they create a page (if they are a wiki'er). Even if there is little information, the fact that there are 2,715 visits to this page since January 31st 2008 (just over 2 years) proves that it should be here alone, where as even a quest NPC (and that's just one of hundreds) have far fewer views. -- Konig/talk 12:58, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
"What if someone searches "Ewan" after reading the Scriptures of Melandru? What will they find? Nothing, so they create a page (if they are a wiki'er)": and they would create an empty page, considering how there's no other source of information about Ewan other than the Scriptures of Melandru, which is where said user would have learned of Ewan in the first place.
Plus, the fact that after all this time no one has made an article about Desmina makes your point a bit void. Erasculio 13:06, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Hardly does the lack of an article for Desmina cause my whole argument to be void. It does not make the fact that there are over two thousand visits to this page (and thus is pretty damn popular for an orphaned page). The real reason why I'm against this deletion is because you're far too overzealous about removing actual and used content from this wiki. -- Konig/talk 09:58, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
I disagree with the deletion of this page. Like Konig said, it is used.
And your argument about how no one has created a page for Desmina yet is bad, to be honest. Many pages in Category:Unseen NPCs have little information, but they still exist. Just because there isn't a lot known about a subject does not mean a page for it should not exist. - Mini Me talk 10:08, 22 February 2010
