Monday Sep 22nd[edit]

Lol! Are they really blaming accidentally deleting an NPC on a kidnapping? That's funny as hell. Secksy 15:41, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Wednesday Sep 10th[edit]

Ever since this update, I've been having alot of lag, and from what I hear, so has everyone else. Anyone know what this is, or if we just have to wait for Anet to fix it?

Friday Sept 5th[edit]

The skill Unyielding Aura now requires the dead ally to be within normal casting range in order to rez (taking away everything that made the new version worth bringing). It's not mentioned here, but I haven't checked the official site. Should this be noted? 66.202.1.169 00:23, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

that's from the update today it's in the developer notes--207.172.193.204 00:29, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Anet still fails balancing[edit]

Shock Arrow's conditional is still crap, and Mind Burn and Double Dragon still suck.

Double Dragon 'still sucks'? It never sucked to begin with. 68.193.113.198 02:44, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Annnndddd VS farm takes a hit, thats some incredibly fast nerfing there anets GG? 98.219.48.111 03:01, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
What's VS farm? Probably has something to do with Unyielding Aura right? Oh, and LOL at whoever thinks Double Dragon is any good.
VS = Voltaic Spear and yes it did use UA but that was indirect as a lifeline, the real nerf was the one to Justiciar Thommis' chase distance...I'm surprised more people weren't wondering why they would do such an otherwise random change. Rumor has it UA could be used to leapfrog areas like the Deep but I have no idea if anyone actually wasted the time to test it and now they won't get the chance. 98.219.48.111 14:55, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Double Dragon is good, start loling 68.193.113.198 16:16, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

You fail. If I see ANYONE in my team running Double Dragon I kick them for not bringing a better skill.
Double Dragon is good.
I'd kick anyone who would judge a player on the skills he uses instead of on the skill that player might have. Close-minded metagamers annoy me. Where's Lt Colonel Virtue when you need him? 145.94.74.23 20:03, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Close-minded? You mean smart and correct? Front lining elementalists with poor damage are bad. --The Gates Assassin 10:49, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Smart? No, obviously not. Correct? Of course not. Close-minded? Yeah. 145.94.74.23 17:56, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Please, tell me how a skill that you can easily see coming since they have to be RIGHT next you, can be outdone by other elites at FULL RANGE, and makes you vulnerable since you have only 60 armor and are in the frontline, isn't bad.--The Gates Assassin 02:47, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
...that you can easily see coming... The enemy AI can't see this coming. Second, I never said that the skill cannot be outdone by other elites. But that in itself doesn't make the player using it useless or dumb. But if you insist on an example, then I'll give you one: it can be very useful on the Vow of Silence-djinn in the Sepulchre of Dagrimmar. Searing Flames and Savannah Heat can only target those if you're lucky. 145.94.74.23 15:26, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
First off, I was talking PvP. The only place this should see use is in farming, maybe not even that. Using this in PvE General is no where as near as good as the other two elites you mentioned. That is one area where it slightly works, even then, they are with elementals for you to attack while the melee hits the Djinns. It still is outclassed by those two elites is nearly every single other area in the game. Also, yes, using less effective elites does make you dumb, and sometimes useless. Even if it does work, one works better, why use it if it isn't better? If you were defending Glimmer against WoH, fine, using Glimmer still works, because it is a decent elite, but DD is more conditional, hits less foes and forces you to either move up to enemies in the frontline.--The Gates Assassin 22:14, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Where's the update?[edit]

Anet said there would be an update today, where is it?

Unyielding Aura Nerf[edit]

I think it is such a bad move, first nerf Norn, then nerg UA... Come on, it just spoil the fun. I guess A-net want to start nerfing many skills until the end of next year, so they forced you to buy GW2 instead of keep playing GW... =.= Conget 13:58, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Agreed... These two were really fun (which is basically the point of a game). Over, but fun. And just because some people didn't like finishing an entire zone without any efforts, ursan got nerfed. Though they were still able to do it the normal way, with a balanced group... Both ursan & balance team could coexist :\
No, nubs want the most imba win-button shit so they can c-space through ELITE content. Izzy got it absolutely right about that one thing and it ruins "balance" whatever the hell that is right now. There is no conceivable reason why everyone should be able to beat everything, especially not if the skill>time mantra is/was true. I can remember the days just over a year ago now when I could say beyond a reasonable doubt people flashing Legendary Vanquisher were legit, now its just another throw away Sunspear-esque title because of abusive crap just like this. On another note, if you can't see why Unyielding Aura is still a great skill in spite of this "nerf" then you were using it for the wrong reasons to begin with. 98.219.48.111 21:36, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
If I am allowed to be a little bit off-topic here I would like to point out that not a single article published by ANet ever tried to show new comers that guild wars was designed to be playable without exploits, consumables and invulnerability. One might think that by giving a kind of walkthrough they would entice players to all play the same way. I would answer that it would not be worse than hundreds of El/A, A/El or Me/A crowding elite areas, nor it would be worse than hundreds of R barage/pets crowding Urgoz. Best of all, it would make the job that tutorials and ascending never done. Serge Yseron 22:20, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
You make an excellent point. However, ask around a bit and you will find what little tutorial does exist most people skip and then can't figure out why they can't win. Simple understanding of the most basic functions like conditions, hexes, enchants, armor, blocking, aggro control etc. would go a long way but instead they run on off to Pvxwiki or limp through with consumables. Why waste 10 minutes reading when you can ctrl+c your way to victory through templates you can't write yourself much less understand and hey who doesn't want to press the "I'm a hard mode monster for 30 minutes" button. I love GW I think its a great game, but when people cry over clearly imba shit getting fixed to being reasonable and in line with existing content it makes me wonder sometimes. 98.219.48.111 01:09, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Unyielding Aura's change was a bug fix, not a nerf. As for Ursan Blessing...saying that was a bug in itself would be a cheap joke. People who complain about things that obviously broken don't understand the issue (I didn't with several skills, but why people consider a warrior who is imune to blindness, blocking and weakness, has a constant +200 health, 20 armor & speed boost and ignores armor on every hit overpowered and yet feel that Ursan was fine, is beyond me.) 145.94.74.23 20:02, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Thommis[edit]

Shortened the distance that Justicar Thommis[sic] will chase fleeing characters in the Slaver’s Exile[sic] dungeon. It isnt changed at all, plz remove it, the note from update notes. 145.53.242.142 14:58, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
