GW is going farther and farther off the mark... Every update just makes me mad. What is the point of the Master of Magic nerf? Seriously they used to push profession combinations and now they nerf them at every turn. And if they are going to keep punishing the entire PvP world because the few GvG people complain im going to quit. Why don't they just make the GvG problems in their own set of skills like the PvP and PvE division??? I don't think Anet really cares about their original installation anymore.--User Wizard Of Orden sig.jpgWizard 12:54, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

finally nerfed that bow attack... --Cursed Angel talk 00:42, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it was a bit imba... At least UY got the nerf, annoyed me personally. MoM didn't really need the nerf though, not like it was used much in the first place... OoU revert was pointless too... --Link4all 02:11, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Sloth hunters is only imbalanced when compared to piss-poor skills power shot and precision shot. Honestly, I thought it was fine. Don't like it? block it with a stance. Heal it back if you're a monk. Or dodge it. Bad players QQed about this because they couldn't handle it and rangers got hit with the nerf bat again. I should consider deleting my ranger as every update they get nerfed. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk).
Or maybe you know, it was imba. You're hitting pretty much 100 on a bow attack with one skill that gets its conditional effect most of the time. I mean I used it, but it was pretty obvious that there was a problem... --Link4all 23:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Um... what MoM nerf? --Macros 02:23, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
MoM got a buff not a nerf. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 09:11, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Exactly my point. --Macros 09:57, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I realized that after I said it. I didn't remember the ending effect being there in the first place, that's why I was confused. This does a lot for it then. =] --Link4all 23:37, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

I just capped UA recently for CoF runs. And they killed it soon after.- VanguardUser-VanguardAvatar.PNG 00:47, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Yea, i loved being able to rezz people from the entire map away :( 00:48, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

LOL now its *slightly* more balanced. Dominator Matrix 00:49, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
How I see it, the main problem wasn't the skill but the fact that monsters doesn't spawn for heroes when a human controlled character wasn't in sight. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 00:52, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, my first impression was that of a vs farm nerf opposed to hero exploits. =/ Legendary Robanian 00:55, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Please Anet, make it Radar Range. 00:53, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm well p***ed off about that one like, that REALLY freaking annoyed me. --Stokoe Talk 00:59, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
One mistake on the update page. Order of Undeath now does +5 to +30 Damage. It rocks >.< I love it Mathiaxas 01:07, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Looks like they kept the damage from the previous version-- 01:10, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Damn. From those I use Ranger...oh well back to life.--ShadowFog 01:13, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

I wish they kept this one and changed the recharge to 10-15 or energy to 15 or mixed them both and made the old version PvP Mathiaxas 01:15, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

What do you guys expect? It is just like Anet to make a crap skill imba then make it toss again. There is no raeson at all i would use this skill now... Mason717 02:08, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

HURRRR I EXAGGERATE GOOD -- 02:29, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
It got WoTA'd. Previously not that useful, gets a buff and becomes overpowered, then gets nerfed into the ground again. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk).

RP Rewards[edit]

Ok so i've got 3 accounts, predicted on all 3. Logged onto main in which i had used before and got RP's fine. Now my 2 Alt accounts hadn't been used before for predictions so i log on, discover they need to now be registered with Tolkano so register them, but still cannot get my RPs'. Any Thoughts? --ChronicinabilitY User Chronicinability Spiteful Spirit.jpg 01:54, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Dont you have to register the accounts before you can claim rewards and if you havent you forfeit any points gained from the tournament house. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 02:13, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
That isn't written anywhere at all on the site in instructions to how to predict. So if thats the case they need to sort it out real quick! --ChronicinabilitY User Chronicinability Spiteful Spirit.jpg 02:18, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
There's a lot of people who haven't gotten reward points yet (including myself), it's possible that you might have to wait a little longer before you can collect the points. (I get the feeling that newer accounts are getting the points last; my younger brother has been signed up for a while and got his points, I signed up last month and haven't received any yet.) --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 03:11, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Also, according to the update notes, the NPCs won't offer points until 15 minutes after they've spawned. -- Gordon Ecker 04:01, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
I was in the district for half an hour, so I'm positive that's not it. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 10:31, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Still not getting mine =/ Also from in game there seems a few people not getting them still. --ChronicinabilitY User Chronicinability Spiteful Spirit.jpg 10:38, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Someone mentioned (I forget if it was on one of the wikis, or in-game) that the accounts needed to be manually checked; thus a lot of them might not give out rewards right away, if they haven't updated yet. I didn't ask for details however, and whoever it was didn't offer any, so I'm not sure of the accuracy of the comment. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 12:23, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Still havent got mine, I havent for 4 month's now, Im quitting next month if they dont give me any.... Lanky 14:47, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Support told me a few pple dont have them and will be fixed in an update that they are working on. --ChronicinabilitY User Chronicinability Spiteful Spirit.jpg 14:33, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Yep, they told me they have a complete list of players who didn't get their points, and when they release the update, everyone will get the points they earned.
I was thinking it might be a good idea to mention this somewhere on the wiki, but I can't think of a good place to stick it... --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 18:17, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
And wait, four months? That sounds like a totally different problem for you, Lanky. You're sure you have the right account name and everything? I'd contact support on that one, the current issue is only supposed to be for this month. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 18:18, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
I contacted PlayNC recently and they've said its a common problem, yet they do not know why it's happend to me for fourmonths, they said i should recive all my points back in a new build of GW, So lets see this friday. Lanky 11:24, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
I haven't gotten mine either...i got 5 prediction points, and according to the chart, thats 50 reward points O.o I really hope the points come in...the ONE time I decide to predict, and I dun get nuffink. Quick Murderer 9:17, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

VS Farm[edit]

seems like they finally nerfed it, with thomis no longer running far enough and runner sin has only 1 chance of getting it right, this is truely impossible ShoGunTheOne 05:32, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

People might eventually find another way (if the remainder of the mobs can still be pulled/killed, then teams with Necrotic Traversal could jump in to finish Thommis at their leisure). However, they've slowed it down enough that chances are, if someone does figure out a quick way to do it, it'll still only be a little faster then doing the dungeon normally. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:15, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunatly, you cannot teleport trough the gate. Still, I find it absurd that they didn't fix the root of the problem instead of the skill, regarding UA. The hero exploit is still there. As described Here. Although I must say its a PvE change, nothing special. I just hope they nerf more skill-less, or solo farming methods, such as perma-shadowform after this change. People would be playing the actualy game again instead of just farming for some fancy clothes. SniperFoxUser SniperFox IconSmall.gif 09:58, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
No, Necrotic Traversal should work, as would Rebirth. It's shadowstepping skills that can't go through things, Necrotic Traversal is well-known for it's ability to go through impassible gates. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 10:30, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

I honestly do not understand why farm just Thommis when the whole level can be done very easy. It's the easiest level in whole Slaver's, u can even H/h it! But no, let's make some skill-less farm build which requires a bit of skill only from permasin. Bah, great they fixed it. 13:19, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Voltaic Spears are a rare and desireable skin that sells for a very respectable price. They drop from the chest spawned when you kill Thommis. Mr J 13:24, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't matter whether they nerf the build for the farm, or leave it, as soon as a desirable item becomes farmable, the value plummets within a very short time anyway. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 16:31, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

11 September 2008 = boring update[edit]

moved from User talk:Isaiah Cartwright

today's update is basically just a pvp balance update withour real improvements for elementalists outside of pvp, no love for incendiary bonds, stone sheath, chain lightning, swirling aura, intensity and second wind and the ranger skill energizing wind is still useless in pve because it was completely destroyed for the sake of pvp. 12:21, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Well, I dunno. It's not as big and exciting as I would have liked it to be, but Glowing Gaze and it's cousin skills are actually more powerful for eles now, not to mention the Mind Blast buff. But yeah, there are still quite a few issues that could do with being addressed. :-) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk).
This update is just a nerf to fast-cast mesmers, nothing more. --Rayd talk 19:12, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, my point exactly. It was probably in order, and actually helped eles, but didn't really adress anything else. Thus, while it wasn't at all a bad update, it was maybe a tad disappointing (though ofc I realise they have to test their changes and whatnot first, which takes time). --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk).
The update is effectively no change for 99% of people. How lame. Can't believe it took Anet a MONTH to come up with that. Making a lame update like that is like turning in your homework almost all blank and expecting a good grade. Oh, and don't nerf Escape, nerf scythes instead. Or make escape require that you use a bow and end on any other attack type. Not to mention that all non-Nightfall fire elites suck. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk).
I sure hope you're not suggesting MB&S is overpowered. Rits are already crippled healers compared to a monk. 16:19, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Lol vandalip (that is how i'm going to call you from now on) rits heals are way to powerfull the only reason real players (or manly players) take monks is because of PROT + Divine favor = wieee hybrid. With 1 prot spell you can prevent more damage then a rit can heal ;) Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*poke* 06:21, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Which would make a monk better... also it might have been vandalism but it sure was true, wasn't it? :)
You cant say something is true without having an argument WHY it is true here ;):p.If you post it on my talkpage that my balance is baed i wouldnt care.If you post it on my talk page WHY my balance was bad i would care however ;) why dont you do it ? Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*poke* 16:36, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Also its not because monks are better that rt's mbas and spirit light isnt imba ;).Its because THE concept of prot is better that monks are better (nuke said it 2 but with better explenation ask him).No healing for 100 health ,rmeoving 2 conditions and only having to invest half of youre attrib points to do something this powerfull with 1 skill slot is not balanced ;) Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*poke* 16:38, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Dude, we get the point...How 'bout talking the theme, is "Boring Update". Was a slacker/Awesome update? Is it a front while they cover a major update? Is it a conspiracy against the goverment? Things like that.--ShadowFog 17:16, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
W/e ok my opinion : I LOVED IT. It brought back eles to play. The MB was a great idea.So was the glowing gaze thing.IMO izzy finally did something well and what does he get ? QQ :/.It will take many updates like this to fix the problem but a step in the right direction is a step in the right direction Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*poke* 17:26, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Come on Izzy![edit]

Give us something better to deal with in PvE! Yes, PvE is easy as it is, but we need more Unused skill (elite or not) buffs! As stated in the previous topic, there are many issues that STILL need being addressed! The updates you've done have been awesome, but it seems like only half of the skills that needed fixing have been dealt with. You split PvE and PvP, now work with it! Axel Zinfandel 02:06, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Exactly how much of the game do you want them to flip upside down at once? The August 7th update was enough for me, I think they should only do one of those massive revamps once in a while. That's me, though. Krelus Derian 05:13, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
I think they should turn the game upside down every week so I won't get bored. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk).
To a certain extent....agreed. -- 23:18, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

UA nerf[edit]

moved from User talk:Isaiah Cartwright

Izzy, I know this nerf was done because people were abusing it with heros for ghost running, but can you please change it so that it will work based on spirit range or radar range instead of spell range? That way it would still be usefull the way it was intended but not be abused. Otherwise all monks are going to go back to HB with rebirth, b/c it is needed to be able to res outside aggro range. Please I really liked this skill and im pissed that it got nerfed b/c of people abusing with ghost running. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk).

Yeah I'm not sure why it got changed to earshot and not radar, I'll look into this, it should be radar range, and it should pick from targets within range first. Izzy @-'---- 01:26, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure I speak for a lot of folks when I say "Thank you", it's greatly appreciated that you're looking into it for us, and we hope the skill can be updated to what you originally intended of it. :) ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 01:34, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm happy to know that it's looking at a rebuff.- VanguardUser-VanguardAvatar.PNG 19:39, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Another CRASH D*&^$it!![edit]

I note that the Sept 10'th update "supposedly fixed a bug relating to dual CPU systems--- well I'm running an Intel P4 3.0GHz "dual" and have been crashing every day since this update!!! So the question is--- was this a "bug" that got fixed, or a "bug" that got created?? Undouble 17:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Ive been having the same trouble too but is rarely it happens, maybe 2-3 times a week. Can you describe your crash? For me I have Vista(LUCKY ME![sarcasm]) with dual core and the musics tends to be stuck in a 1 second loop and the program freezes. Is this the same description?--ShadowFog 20:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
