think we get our update in 33 minutes? I'm really hoping to get MOX. Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi Talk 18:28, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I find it quite amusing this talk page was created even before the update. It would be even more amusing if the update was delayed until tomorrow or later.- TheRave User TheRave sig.jpg 18:41, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
I know I made it, I'm just really hoping it comes today, I just want to see a new hero. Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi Talk 18:43, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I find these kinds of things easier when they don't tell you date... or even about them all. Otherwise it's like Mathematics for 6th period on a Friday arvo. 00:06, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

New Avatar Forms[edit]

He changes Colour, well not thw whole hero just the crystal bit inside him ok and some stuff around the out side of him --TalkWild 01:43, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

I expected more, likes spikes or something. Ohwell, at least the quests are fun :D User Kroulee Sig.pngKroulee talk 06:59, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Stupid isn't it, all that effort to create new skins for MOX when all they do is change his colours. Why didn't they expend the same sort of effort for the majority of the armour in EoTN? --BeeD 10:45, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Fire imp[edit]

Yes, it works in Pre. Wonder if the perma-pres will get all lathered up over that. It still can't help with death leveling, but it could help you get to the point where you can begin death leveling. When summoned it appears to be the same level you are. I've seen him use Flare, Fireball and Glyph of Restoration so far. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 01:45, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

can we add to the wiki notes that this update also killed presearing? my lvl 17 imp just owned the charr alter without any help from me. there is no longer any skill in charr hunting. 02:20, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
there was never any skill in PvE
At least sign your comments, smartass. Ninjas In The Sky 08:44, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

The update[edit]

Where's the skill balance? WTB 50k ok? ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 02:46, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

It was stated that the update will come on....the 12th, I believe. If someone can post the GWGuru link, that'd be nice. Relax, Shard. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 02:47, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
You don't even play guild wars.-- 03:33, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

ok, my opinion[edit]

File:User Arrythmia Noob.jpg

but srsly, dumbing down pve even more? also why waste soo much time and effort on a silly derv golem when you can spend more time being constructive/productive on fixing some skills "liek letz maek it ezier foar newbs"--Arrythmia User Arrythmia arrythmia.sig.JPG 02:49, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Are you stupid? Golem doesn't change anything in PvE. It has the exact same stats as a regular derv, only its big. And they didn't waste "soo much time" because golem was already coded in game. -- 02:54, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
He was talking about the imp. Learn you some fucking reading comprehension. -- 03:01, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

edit conflict

err gg, apparantly u were under the misconception that i was focusing on the derv hero so u liek didnt read how they added taht " "imp"pressive " noob imp, which dumbs down lower lvl newbs, gg to you kyle

liek he said, i was focusing on the imp here--Arrythmia User Arrythmia arrythmia.sig.JPG 03:03, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

also a further note, they had to reskin it and make it work with the new skins for diff avatars, so that required some programming, and like any game, or rather, if you knew anything about programming, any small minor change adds unexpected bugs, so it did waste some time cuz they always test before they release--Arrythmia User Arrythmia arrythmia.sig.JPG 03:06, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

By the way Arrythmia, if you would pay attention, MOX has been in the game code since they released the guild wars trilogy pack, it was included in that for anyone that bought it clear back in June.--Passifis the Vile

QQ moar you idiot.-- 03:34, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

People complain that Guild Wars needs new content, then people complain when they add the new content... I swear there is no pleasing some people... --ShadowphoenixPlease, talk to me; I'm so lonely ;-; 05:19, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Guild Wars DOES need new content because it is a dieing game on its last leg. It needs good stuff though...random new heroes that no one will ever use are meh. The new quest was great to kill 3 not so simple bosses then run to one of the most remote areas in the game for a nice fat reward. Just imagine if they added 10 new and really hard bosses, each with cool drops and in interesting places...that could easily add 10 hours of gameplay to the game for the xxx thousand of people who still like guild wars. I think with things like the Imp they are just betaing new stuff for GW2.-- 17:10, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Well Arrythmia you say that having a fire imp is dumbing down PvE? trust me when i say this but it doesnt make a blind bit of differance to PvE, the only time when it is usefull is when your leveling up and thats oddly enough at the begining of the game at the starter islands where your still going trough the tutorial and last time i checked that supposed to be easy anyway and if you think that making the tutorial that little bit easyer is dumbing down all of PvE then i think you should try spending a little less time in pre --Azreal of SkyrimUser Azreal of skyrim signature.jpg 16:19, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

im not saying that a fire imp completely demolishes the fabrication of the game u twat, im saying that as a whole, all they have been doing is screwing up pve, granted its not much of a difference, but every little fuck up adds up, gg kyle.. phail less-- 00:42, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

What ever happened to GWW:NPA? Theta Republic 05:00, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Who cares honestly, PvE has been dead since EOTN came out(even in the weeks before Ursanway found the light of day). PvP is already screwed to death. This update, while the golem hero was interesting for a few moments, is just overall another failed attempt to breathe life back into the game. I havn't honestly played for more than 5 minutes since the end of July. Anet needs to get their act together and fix all the major issues that they've created in the last month if they want to have any hope of GW2 putting out decent sales. I doubt they'll do so though. Might as well hang around until Lich King releases. If Anet doesn't get it together by then I'll be uninstalling GW. Nice three year run, but it's gotten seriously dull.--Masato 05:56, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Well unless im blind the only things that have been screwing up PvE are or already have been sorted out and its not like they have an abundance of time to iron out every little detail and try to add stuff to keep the players happy as they are working to get GW2 out on time which i doubt they will do as every time they try to add a little something for the players they get it thrown back in their face with the amount of people that moan about it. So insted of complaining that PvE is ruined, why dont you say exactly what is wrong with it insted of just bashing ANet and expecting that they know what is wrong --Azreal of SkyrimUser Azreal of skyrim signature.jpg 16:27, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

"PvE has been dead since EOTN" -- I lol'ed; there are so many players in PvE that I have to take int. in order to avoid lag in AD and Euro dist. I don't think anything is terribly worn with PvE, there are a few minor issue and ne content wouldn't hurt even if the game was brand new; I say PvE is fine and if you do see problems with it then follow Azreal's advice and actually tell the problems --ShadowphoenixPlease, talk to me; I'm so lonely ;-; 00:28, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok i will :
  • Pve skills are wrong they shouldnt exist
  • Monster builds are baed instead of giving monsters good builds they give them Overpowered skills wich is the reason you need those pve only skills.Ok some skills need a small buff in pve but for the love of god imba skills do not make up for other imba skills.
  • Consumables if you dont know they shouldnt be this powerfull then /uninstall is the only option (however i dont think ppl like you dont know why they are bad).
  • OP bosses or monsters. This goes together with the skill issue.Giving a boss lvl 29 and X in fire magic so hes mind burn can hit for over 300 on a squishy and zillions of energy so exhaustion doesnt matter is not balanced.Balanced is giving him 25 % bonus at most and giving him decent skills.

Need anythin else ? (i know this might sound a bit arrogant but this is what i think about pve being balanced ) Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*poke* 13:22, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

I kinda agree that PvE only skills should not exist as most of them are non profession spersific which means that you can get around the need of a certain profession with them but i dont think they all should be removed as some could be added to certain professions as new skills. But to do that with the monsters builds would be more like an overhaul than an update as to the best of my knowledge a large number of them have their own monster only skill and so updating them all could take quite a long time which i dont think ANet have with all the time their spending on geting GW2 out so i think this would be something to suggest for GW2. On the subject of cons, i personaly dont use them much so i havent really noticed them so i really cant say anything about them. And when i was capping skills to get the legendary elite skill hunter title i never found any bosses that were OP and so i think the bosses are fine as they are.--Azreal of SkyrimUser Azreal of skyrim signature.jpg 15:06, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

I think it could be done in a few days of work ;) i'd rather have GW I fixed and have to pay for the fix then have GW 2 ;) Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*poke* 16:13, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

This is PvP![edit]

Anyone find the trivia in this? =P kaheiyeh 04:54, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Like, This is CNN :) MystiLefemEle 05:00, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Or like how "This is Hard Mode!" sounds like "This is Sparta!". If you're going to make it a reference, I'd say that's a little closer.
I like that it's a ctrl-click shortcut for every time I run into a player in PvP who's running a PvE build, now... --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:23, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Which is lovely, the "This is Sparta!" possible reference, or my "elitist bastard" mentality when I'm in PvP? :P --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 09:56, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
The elitist bastard part. I just found it really funny. :P - anja talk 10:05, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
I actually got a chance to use it in Alliance Battles, as me an another player were explaining to a Paragon why Sliver Armor was a bad idea. I clicked it, and the other player said "yeah, I know, that's why we're trying to fix his build." It was awesome. He figured it out after a moment though. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 10:28, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
What I really hoped Anet would one day do is use actual voices when using shouts. Although it could get annoying with everyone running around with their cahrs yelling "THIS IS PVPPPPP!" over and over again --BeeD 10:37, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

When's do my reward points come? for Predictions 16:19, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

This entire page...[edit]

I find most of this page pretty much completely deletable. A copyvio image, and at the least 4 GWW:NPA violations. If you all hate this game so much STOP PLAYING IT, and let those of us who still enjoy it have some fun in peace. I can't tell you how completely tired I am of reading all the whiney crap that you spend so much time and energy writing. The game is what it is. I personally have enjoyed getting some new stuff (even if none of it is really 'new') and could care less if PvP is irrevocably broken. In fact, I say good, then maybe the whiners will go away and find something that is better. If you haven't figured out by now that Anet is just NOT going to do anything extraordinary for this game anymore, you really need to buy a clue somewhere. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 06:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
