- since I've started tracking this, 208 salvaged and 100% dust from salvages. I'd estimate that over the years I've salvaged in excess of 600 and never gotten a gem. Ecks

- Holey shit. I've always salvaged these since granite fetches a good price, but I had no idea they could salvage gems... until today's vanquish. Got 3 of these drops, salvaged them, and the latter two in a row were both sapphires. Nearly shat myself. 216.185.250.92 00:39, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Farming[edit]
Where'd be the best place to farm Geodes? I've been running through the Wilderness of Bahdza, making a circle around the most eastern "rock" so I meet some djinns as well, but I wondered whether it's the best spot. Thanks. Pastafarian Hunter 12:02, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

- Type in "geode farmer" in google: a lot of the builds are ineffective, but the routes are still good. (People have been farming geodes for the sapphire/ruby salvages for ages.) Google will also show a PvX build or two. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:58, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- "Exit from Mihanu Township using the South East Exit. Go a short distance along the north wall to a group of five beetles. From here go south-east - sticking close to the scarp to avoid any other creatures - to another group of five beetles. Continue South and find 2 more groups, wiggle between patrols to avoid aggro. Ends at the Kodash Bazaar with the ability to just turn around and repeat in reverse; a great route! Drop rate averages 1 Geode per Beetle group every 3 minutes (or total of 4-5 per run); not counting the wait between runs." --from the nicholas item of the week farm guide for geodes.Driftwood (talk) 15:49, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Why beetles?[edit]
Don't know if anyone else has ever wondered. Why Beetles? How exactly in GW lore does these insects come to possess this potentially precious trophy? Do they eat dirt and swallow rocks? -Wrei110.175.241.56 10:23, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
