Redirect[edit]
I'm wondering if perhaps we should turn the redirect around. Right now Miyuki redirects to Imperial Guard Miyuki, but since the NPC's name is actually just Miyuki when encountered, shouldn't it be the other way around? Just a thought. -- Elv 09:26, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- Right now I'm in the explorable with here and she's just Miyuki. Why was she named Imperial Guard Miyuki in the first place? Jafar 17:23, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- It's what she's called in the quest description... the actual NPC name is just Miyuki though. Hence why I originally created the page there and think the redirect should be turned around. -- Elv 17:57, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Articles should be titled what the NPC is titled in game. If Miyuki is the NPC's name, then Miyuki is where the article should be. Konig/talk 17:59, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- this is just another of falconeye's... "ideas". someone who's logged in should move the page to miyuki and delete this page, no one will search for the full, unused title. 24.130.140.36 18:04, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sadly, we need an admin to delete the redirect first. Konig/talk 18:09, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Just replace the text at Miyuki with the text here and delete this one. There aren't very many links to either article. 75.36.177.73 18:26, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- that breaks contributioons 24.130.140.36 19:05, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Miyuki will be deleted and this page moved if consensus is for it (currently is, but waiting a little). --JonTheMon 19:21, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is consensus really necessary in this case? The argument is correct: the NPC is named Miyuki, not Imperial Guard Miyuki. If it is necessary, though, it has my vote. --Musha 22:26, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- The text here was copy+pasted from Miyuki- I wrote the original article there exactly BECAUSE that is her proper name. So the Miyuki page should not be deleted but rather restored to its original state. Whatever happens to this one is another matter entirely. -- Elv 17:37, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- "the Miyuki page should not be deleted but rather restored to its original state. Whatever happens to this one is another matter entirely." Except for the fact that the current state of this article (even when removing the tag) is still very different from the state of the last version of Miyuki prior to Falconeye's incorrect (in both reason and method) move. Your argument is sounding like "I want my contributions to stay!" rather than "I want the article to be correct!" - either way, it's up to the admins and there is full out consensus that the article should be titled Miyuki. Konig/talk 17:50, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- Attribution will be considered during the move/merge. --JonTheMon 18:16, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- Bhuh? No... I want the article in the right place, not a gold star for a contribution. Whatever edits, corrections and additions have been made since I set it up will obviously need to be taken to the new/corrected/whatever page... which is why I started the discussion in the first place. I was just wondering if there was some vague copyright/contribution issue here relating to copying over existing content (hence I pointed out I thought it was a moot point because my "original" content had been copied as well). My stance is the same for Natsumi's page, which if you'll note, I didn't write at all. It belongs under the proper NPC name. :) -- Elv 20:55, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
