I think he takes DP removal sugar items only. Five in exchange for five Mandragor Root Cake or 50 in exchange for a Delicious Cake.--Fey Zeal Fey Zeal 02:33, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

So what is the advantage of doing this? Seems pointless. - 72.200.53.160 04:01, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Sweets that remove DP or grant morale boosts can only be used in explorable areas, and only when you have DP or don't have 10% morale. That makes it a pain in the ass to actually get the points. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 04:40, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
How's this dealing in any way with the bot problem in JQ? This is more about getting your sweet tooth title more easily...
But if it is, it makes me happy, as I've been JQ'ing quite a lot recently and reporting so many bots, I really hope they'll get their a$$es banned. 87.66.61.155 02:49, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, it's not about the bot problem, it's about some kid thinking he's so great creating a new page with criticism on it rather than relevant info. EtariP sdrawkcaB ehT 02:56, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Well it dealt with some bots for today as they're unable to enter unless they've installed the update, but that's about all 87.66.61.155 02:58, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Here is the list of sweets offered : Vezz 02:56, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

  • 5x Pumpkin Cookies -> 5x Mandragor Root Cakes
  • 5x Peppermint Candy Canes -> 5x Red Bean Cakes
  • 5x Wintergreen Candy Canes -> 5x Mandragor Root Cakes
  • 5x Rainbow Candy Canes -> 5x Mandragor Root Cakes
  • 5x Refined Jellies -> 5x Mandragor Root Cakes
  • 5x Honeycombs -> 5x Mandragor Root Cakes

He will also trade 50 of a kind into 1 Delicious Cake 76.164.65.219 03:52, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Also 25 Peppermint CC or 50 Wintersday CC for 1 Delicious Cake. sadly i cant find anymore Rainbow CC -Sef326 03:56, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
I can confirm that 50 Rainbow CCs gets traded for 1 Delicious Cake. Disconnect 11:56, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Why didn't they do the same with party items? 24.197.253.243 04:16, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Because it is much easier to "spam" non spammable party items (rezoning or changing districts, or Loose Magic) than DP-removing items. But it will probably happen some day. 87.66.61.155 09:29, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Why doesn't he take Shining Blade Rations???--72.94.172.99 16:47, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Cuz that doesn't give sweet points. Konig/talk 20:50, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Lol, good point, I didn't think of that.--72.94.172.99 09:51, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Terrible NPC idea[edit]

All this NPC does is push the idea that title points matter more than gameplay. If they hadn't diluted the market with excessive amounts of morale consumables in the first place, they wouldn't have the problem of people wanting "spammable" over "usable". -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 05:37, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

At least you can merge sweets in your inventory... It looks terribly implemented - in typical Anet style - though. --Boro User Borotvaltgandalf Sig.jpg 06:14, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
But his dialogue is a very funny reply to this: [1] ;) - in typical ANET style -Sef326 06:41, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
I had the same impression that it was a reply to that also. Very amusing indeed, worthy of noting in the trivia if you ask me. Any idea if the name is relevant too? 82.11.226.30 09:27, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
I think it's a good idea. The bad thing is it's so late they added him, so once again old players get to do it the hard way, and new players can do it the easy way. They already introduced the titles and sweets long ago, so they can't change that (easily). This is just one way of making it a bit easier on people, and there's nothing wrong with that, considering they started out making it rediculous to max almost any title, if you're a casual player. Gaudy Gourd God 08:11, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
The name may be a reference to the character Kazuma Azuma from the anime/manga Yakitate!! Japan. Its a series about baking so it is a possibility. I might be jumping to conclusions though.--Mneme 10:25, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, with GW2 coming along nicely, I'm pretty sure they're just doing these bits to make it a little easier help people get HoM rewards. Gameplay is probably not part of the decision for this NPC. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 11:34, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Not necessary a terrible NPC idea as I'd never be able to acquire enough DP through gameplay to use the stacks upon stacks of -DP sweets acquired from festival drops/gifts. To rid of these one could: 1)grind deaths, 2)shout for a buyer at the market like a 100 others or 3)destroy them, all of which seems a waste of time/points.
I also agree with the Yakitate!! reference as that was the only notable 'Kazuma' baker in pop reference. -Wrei110.175.241.56 15:26, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
In agreement with Wrei that this isn't a bad NPC. All it does is make things easier for us. Too bad they didn't make the "exchange for delicious cake" universal for all sweets. Especially Mandrigor Cake. Konig/talk 23:35, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Reduction of RSI[edit]

^via delicious cake. I approve. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 17:05, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

If you don't have RSI, it's not Guild Wars(or you're not doing it right) Gaudy Gourd God 23:59, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

Changes to the article[edit]

So anyways copied and added a bit more information from each of the other sweet point articles. My question is what else do we need to add to make it seem complete? See another collector page Onkk it seems that the dialog is BEFORE the "items offered". Also I would like to place in notes something about the spam-ability of this conversion, and that this collector allows for complete spam-ability of sweet points as opposed to before the update. A Liability 14:23, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

YAY looks like a good article now. The only thing im adding to the trivia is about sweet points being converted, I am sure this is the only instance where an NPC does a 1 for 1 trade. Anywho adding it!A Liability 00:20, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Anywho added this line, if it get reved again lets reword it to be more interesting so it doesnt get reved a third time. I spent 2 hours working on this idea already and could use some fresh eyes on it anyways!
  • Since this NPC allows for conversion of different sweets on a one to one point basis, all points converted are neither created or destroyed. This is unique as all other NPCs do not normally offer a service akin to the law of conservation of energy.A Liability 00:31, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

Bleh, seems like this note was removed again! Anywho, the following reasons is why we should have a note: NPCs in Guild Wars do not traditionally take part in a complete persistent market economy

Buying: trying to get an item with your current resources

  • Merchants take gold, destroying it in the process, and give preset goods to a player (unlimited money sink)
  • Collectors take trophys/items, destroying them in the process, and give preset goods to a player (unlimited item sink)
  • Traders take gold and / or materials, destroying part of them in the process, and give preset goods to a player (limited money and material sink)

Selling: trying to get gold from your current non gold resources

  • Merchants buy your goods, destroying them in the process (unlimited item sink)
  • Traders buy your goods (if they are the type which they can buy), and offer any items they bought which they can sell at an increased rate (unlimited item sink)

so with that in mind we can conclude that interaction with previous NPCs ALWAYS results in destruction of the original goods or gold. Prior to this guy, you could NEVER get a 1:1 trade for the same item type. This is what i am trying to put in a concise sentence. I need some help with this. - A Liability (I'll sign this later).
