Dialogue[edit]
- "Do you like cake? Of course you do! Everyone loves cake! As for me, I love all kinds of sweets: Candy Apples, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Bunnies, and...yes, even Fruitcake. However, eating the same sweets all the time gets a little boring. If you have any sweets on you that you're finding difficult to eat, I'd be happy to trade you for cake."
- I only have a few sweets on me. (Only appears if your character's inventory has the required number of sweets he wants (i.e. 5 Peppermint Candy Canes). The appearance of the following trade options depend on which of the required number of sweets are in your inventory.)
- "Fascinating, tell me more."
- Trade 5 Peppermint Candy Canes for 5 Red Bean Cakes.
- Trade 5 Rainbow Candy Canes for 5 Mandragor Root Cakes.
- Trade 5 Wintergreen Candy Canes for 5 Mandragor Root Cakes.
- Trade 5 Honeycombs for 5 Mandragor Root Cakes.
- Trade 5 Pumpkin Cookies for 5 Mandragor Root Cakes.
- Trade 5 Refined Jellies [verification requested] for 5 Mandragor Root Cakes.
- This whole exchange is giving me a toothache.
- "Fascinating, tell me more."
- I have a lot of extra sweets. (Only appears if your character's inventory has the required number of sweets he wants (i.e. 25 Peppermint Candy Canes). The appearance of the following trade options depend on which of the required number of sweets are in your inventory.)

- Wait the Xunlai are involved in baking now? I thought you were just bankers.
- "To call the Xunlai mere bankers is to defame a vast organization with far-reaching branches. Maybe we are best known for our handling of currency and storage, but there are more arms of the Xunlai than I can count. Did you ever meet one of the Xunlai Pollsters from the Census and Public Opinion Bureau? Surely you met one of the Xunlai Tournament Agents before we closed the Tournament House? If not Kun Shao over at the Zaishen Menagerie can tell you all about working with them. Though...now that I think about it, he may not want to revisit those memories."
- Fascinating, tell me more.
- "Alright, listen: I don't know how much I'm allowed to disclose, but even if you never meet them, there are huge numbers of Xunlai agents keeping this world running. Look at Kaineng Center. The Ministry of Earth manages building projects and the Ministry of Water controls the city's water supply, but without the Xunlai Codes and Planning Division this place would be a dangerous mess of posts and pipes."
- Fascinating, tell me more.
- "We extend that commitment to order and safety into the metaphysical as well. Think about the Cataclysm, the sinking of Orr, Nightfall...the Searing! I know my friend Jian Fo does all the time; but he won't shut up about it. But that's how it goes for a Xunlai Prophetical and Historical Investigator: you dedicate your life to probing the mysterious in order to protect people who don't know you exist. I know I probably shouldn't be telling you this, but the idea that the Xunlai are just here to count your coins and store your junk really frosts my cookies!"
- Fascinating, tell me more.
- "Why wouldn't we be bakers? What other group has the training and expertise to bake millions of fluffy cakes AND the infrastructure to deliver them across the world? Nobody, that's who. People were harassing my friend Isa Ku during the last celebration of the birthday of the world. "You didn't make these cupcakes," they said. "Everybody knows Imperial Chef Tian makes the birthday cupcakes." To believe that Imperial Chef Tian personally constructs every cupcake requires quite an imagination, and to ignore Isa Ku's individual contribution is quite rude. He works very hard to place those sprinkles just so!"
- Fascinating, tell me more.
- "Like any master chef, Tian has plenty of help in the kitchen: sous chefs, sauciers, glaciers, the whole brigade de cuisine. And that's just in his own kitchens. While he created the classic birthday cupcake, he certainly doesn't bake them for the whole of Tyria. Royal Chef Hatundo and Royal Chef Culwich recognize the exquisiteness of Tian's recipe, but they take pride in doing the baking for their respective lands. The only way to supply the whole of Tyria with tasty treats is to have many chefs in many kitchens. And the only way to ensure that each cake is crafted according to specifications is through proper administration. That's where the Xunlai come in."
- Fascinating, tell me more.
- "Check out my delicious cake. Notice how each slice is a consistent, beautiful red and has the perfect amount of creamy frosting. Each one contains the same precisely measure jolt of sugar, specially formulated to keep you running. Credit where it's due: Royal Chef Culwich is an artist, and his recipe unbeatable. But these slices? That's Xunlai quality!"
- Fascinating, tell me more.
- "Usually my work is its own reward, but sometimes you want a little recognition, you know? And not just for me, but for the innumerable Xunlai agents across the globe. Just because our work is done behind the curtain doesn't mean we don't deserve to take a bow. Remember that! Or actually...maybe you should forget that. What is it my supervisor always says? "There are two things that people should never see: how sausages are made and the long reach of the Xunlai. Whew! Rambling always makes me hungry. Do you want a slice of cake?"
- Fascinating, tell me more. (Returns to the initial dialogue)

Trivia[edit]
- This Xunlai Bakery Agent was added in the May 17, 2012 update. He is the only collector that simplifies title acquisition, making it easier to progress the Sweet Tooth title by converting non-spammable sweets into spammable ones, i.e. from those that cannot be consumed quickly into those that can be.
- His line of Isa Ku being harassed is a reference to members of the community complaining about Xunlai Bakers from the Seventh Year Anniversary Celebration update notes.
- He mentions Candy Apples and Pumpkin Pie in his dialogue despite not accepting those sweets in trade.
