Image?[edit]

This skills image has no yellow border, despite its elite status. I'm not sure the process for making the skill icons, but if need be, I can try to change this image. Windtalker 14:10, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Strange -- I uploaded a new version - with yellow border - and it doesn't seem to be yellow now, despite clearing my cache...Fox 14:22, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
It's because you first uploaded an image with a gold border, and then a new one with a black border --Torins 14:34, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
I don't have a version with a black border. The original file had black border. Every file I have uploaded to correct since reading the original message here has had gold border. Go figure. Fox 14:45, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
Well, I can't access your comp and see what you have, my post was based on the info in the images history. --Torins 14:46, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
If you look at eg the file size, you'll see that they were the same (gold bordered) file. The most recent version is a variation, with the gold added over the top "by hand" Fox 14:48, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
I have a theory about what's causing this, posted it 5 mins ago on Image_talk:Lightning_Surge.jpg (that's where i wanted you to come =S). Anyway, Lord Biro suggests to wait 24hrs, what do you say ? --Torins 14:55, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

(Reset indent) LoL - well, every version I've uploaded has had a gold border, including the reverted version, so I guess if we give it a while it should correct itself. Fox 14:57, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Template[edit]

Can we get a "bad" template to add to skills like this to mark that they're bad, so people will stop using them? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.190.103.3 (talk) at 20:30, 15 June 2008 (UTC).

"Bad" is a matter of opinion. But I'm sure some sort of note on the talk page (even a note in the trivia section) for skills like this, mending, "Incoming!" and other things along that line would help steer people in the right direction. Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 00:21, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
incoming actually isnt that bad although it got an indirect nerf recently Lilondra 18:23, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
This sort of bad isn't opinion. It is shatterstone except it deals no damage if removed and if not, it only deals half damage at the price of 2 extra seconds cool down. GG, this skill inferior in every way.Crimmastermind 08:10, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

You should notcie that you have more high damage skills in air than in water so it can be usefull for somebody--81.168.168.99 20:08, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Not quite. When Mind Shocks condition is met, it deals the same amount of damage WITH 25% armor penetration and knocks down... no reason to use this over that. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.97.188.177 (talk) at 17:55, 4 January 2009 (UTC).

I use this over Mind Shock because it doesn't cause exhaustion. Over longer games, it is easier to maintain constant pressure with this. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.67.242.63 (talk) at 12:09, 26 May 2009 (UTC).

Not quite sure why everyone here thinks its bad, its a moderately damaging spell with a quick recharge and a knockdown, true it can be removed, but then so can all hexes and alot of people don't bring hex removal.Mortsu 13:11, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

I hope you're not that bad. --Gah_ 17:18, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Furthermore, assuming the hex isn't removed (even bots (H&H) don't remove hexes within 3 seconds, usually) the delay allows for you to cast another high damage spell along with it, causing a spike. So combine this with something like Lightning Orb (High damage, cracked armor (PvE) and armor penetration). Assuming the cracked armor takes place before the hex is removed, you can have a 200+ damage spike, and at a decent recharge rate. Most skills are not islands. Their value comes in how well they work with other skills. --Knux 02:20, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Note/Trivia[edit]

The warrior depicted in this icon seems to be a female wearing Ringmail/Ascalon armor. Should I add a note? --SetandSpike 07:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Thunderclap[edit]

It is no longer related to this skill, so I'm removing it.Sloh Em Oshun 22:26, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

How's that? It's an air magic skill with a delayed effect; I don't think they were related because they both caused knockdown. :| User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 16:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Nerfed?[edit]

Its been a long time since I used this in PvE but I seem to remember it doing more dmg. Did it get pommeled by the nerfbat? Or did they add more air resistances to the enemies? Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.png 18:41, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Lightning Surge has no armor penetration, so it seems to do less damage in comparison to other Air Magic skills. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 20:13, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Must be it, ty. Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.png 07:41, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Premature[edit]

If this ends prematurely, with the hex still work? 70.36.239.156 03:30, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

nvm, I can't read *facepalm* 70.36.239.156 03:31, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Post-update[edit]

Needs confirmation if cracked armor is appied before or after the damage. This information should also be in the notes section. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Porcelain1 (talk) at 03:11, 6 January 2012 (UTC).
