Huge pages are huge

In text alone, this page loads with about 700kb (no clue how much it increases with images). Maybe we should go back to a text-only, non-formatted list? It may look ugly, but is better that than having to wait 2 minutes for loading (and that is if it loads at all).--Fighterdoken 00:37, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

It may be a tad late, but I had posted a complete list of elites in mid 2010, sorted by profession with campaign designations here. It is void of graphics, so it would be faster loading, quicker to print (as a checklist) or easier to copy/paste (minimal formatting required) to make a text/notepad document (I copy the list to a text file for each character, and delete the skills from that document as I acquire them). Hopefully that could help others who are having trouble loading the article as well as provide the basics for our checklists! Gwynna Vive 04:39, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Professions

Any idea why on the default load the last 75 skills don't use the 20px tango icon but rather have Template:Profession icon in its place? --Kakarot 01:51, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

I thought it could have something to do with the infobox of those skills, but all seems in order. I guess the server just can't take the load and ends dumping whatever it finds first, since the problem is only here, and not in the other lists that use the same template for displaying it.--Fighterdoken 02:07, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah could be, just kindof weird how it already shows every profession tango icon on this page and also that there doesn't seem to be a problem with the icons in the previous column. --Kakarot 02:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

I think it's the MediaWiki function against loops and overload. I saw the same behavior when someone was trying to make loops with templates, it stopped working and just linked. We should really split this page :/ - anja 05:57, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Since we have the elite skills by profession, by capture location and by campaign/expansion is this page really needed? An alternative to completely removing the page would be to simply remove the skill icons as that should reduce the load time although since it uses dpl I'm not entirely sure that's possible. Since it is useful for seeing every single elite skill in the game my second suggestion might be better but as I mentioned might not be possible. --Kakarot 13:04, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Either that or this would work although neither of them include the description or energy use/activation time/recharge time/other column (whatever you want to call it) and also aren't sortable but they do load a lot faster. Maybe add this to Guild Wars Wiki:Requests for comment to get more people involved? --Kakarot 15:32, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Removed Skill

User Page Interference

User:Spawnlegacy/Swashbuckler/skill/Embrace Elements is causing Embrace Elements to show up as an Elite Skill on this page. I am leaving a note on his talk page about fixing this. – josəph 23:31, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
