Talk:Lornar's Pass (Zaishen vanquish)
Difficulty[edit]
My party's limited to 6 but it's 'fair' to throw an unseparable mob with 3 healers and a dozen other foes at us all at once? Really? Does anyone at anet actually PLAY the game? I can appreciate a certain level of difficulty but there is definitely nothing fun about it at all. After 5 tries I'm done. No Tyrian or Legendary Vq titles for me I guess. Oh, and the peanut gallery can keep your build ideas and "I did it solo and with no weapons in 5 mins" bs to yourselves. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 174.16.77.175 (talk).
- 1) The mobs were made back in 2004/2005, quite some time before Hard Mode ever came out. Hard Mode, almost literally, merely upped numbers - few mobs outside EN and Beyond stuff are changed beyond levels. 2) That zone is designed for level 20 parties of 8. Just because you can access it from Beacon's Perch doesn't mean the game is designed for you to do that. Konig/talk 04:42, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- In layman's terms: Less QQ and more Pew-Pew; leave from Camp Rankor with 8 party members. If you can do "normal" HM stuff with your current team then Lornar's should be easy. If not, then perhaps you should try one of those "I did it solo and with no weapons in 5 mins" builds, that'd be an impressive run. ~FarloTalk 06:35, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- ^Pretty sure I did it sabway with 2 henchmen from beacons in the old days :D File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 10:46, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

I would agree with the original poster, I quite after 3hours and 230 kills when I realized I was only about half way through and I was looking at the whole Stone Summit army; Including the massed Healer Mobs described. Making a NM run to the same place this morning took 45 Minutes! No Cons, and no wipes. Most games I've played in my life have a reasonably graduated scaling from Normal, Hard, Elite, Nuts. I really dont feel that way about GW; seems to me it has two Modes, Normal which is too easy most of the time and Nuts; and this zone really demonstrates that imbalance; While Leaving out of Rankor makes some sense, all you have to cross is two equally large, equally difficult zones; whats that a 6 hour chain of Vqs; seriously thats the 'Reasonable' solution; . (Btw I have Vqed Snake Dance.);
BTW the statement above that HM Merely Upped Lv and Numbers is not true, it also gives each Mob an Elite skill? As well as a Speed buff, which IMHO is the thing that really pushes the needle. Its a shame that when ever a player challanges the Devs to provide a more balanced game, the Elite feel obliged to pile on; Obviously we can't expect much now, but would it be sooo impossible to create a Patch that allows a party size of 8 in HM no matter where one starts out? At least the Devs might be encouraged to rethink the "hard mode" balance in GW2.--69.255.123.188 07:52, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
