Can't she be an tribute to the irisch song "Moly Malone" by the dublinners?

I thought so, too

For information: the song is called "Cockles and Mussels" and was written (actually by a Scotsman) in the 19th century. It is about a character referenced in the lyric as "sweet Molly Malone" concerning whom there is continuing debate whether she was real or fictional. At any rate, if she was real then she would have been christened Mary Malone, because Molly is merely an Irish diminutive of Mary. As the name of the song suggests, she (real or fictional) was a fishmonger who sold cockles and mussels from her barrow in Ireland's Dublin City. She seems to have been more renowned for her physical attractiveness, however, and the song hints that she may also have been a part time prostitute. Could that be why the Guild Wars character invites the player to sample her "apples"? Or is she just being generous? :)

Apples[edit]

Kinda interesting how she should have something to do with apples, in the his dark materials books mary malone was supposed to be "the serpent" or "the tempter" from the garden of eden, i dont really know my biblical stuff, but still pretty sure the serpent from the garden of eden gave adam or eve an apple or something like that. Also, the if there was a paradise in guild wars i would call it regent valley, you can say im reading into it all a bit much (i probably am), but coincidence? i wonder.. In biblical terms the serpent "satan" tempted Eve to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, eve later offers it to Adam who also eats... In Western art, the fruit is commonly depicted as an apple, (they originated in central Asia). The source of this apparently lay in a Latin pun: by eating the malus (apple), Eve contracted malum (evil)... I'm also wondering if she is not a reference to "Mary Mary quite contrary" a nursery rhyme where mary uses cockle shells (not quite the same as baked husks tho) to grow her garden MrPaladin 15:20, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Remember that Pre-Searing is also refered sometimes as "Eden" by the GW developig Team.--talk Large 07:39, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

If A-net implements my suggestion we'll see her again--Copper Legray 22:18, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I actually just thought of this. The dev notes only say he mourned the loss of friends, family, and her…but he escaped. Why couldn't several of his friends escaped, too? It seems plausible, especially seeing as how little Gwen did so…70.225.72.108 06:18, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
gwen hardly escaped, it took her what, 12 years, three failed attempts or something like that? 90.198.74.53 09:44, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
