Impossible to VQ?[edit]

Is this area impossible to VQ?

Prior to quest there were groups of 3 enemies now they are groups of 6+ and only 4 players allowed.

I guess we'll find out when tonight’s ZV kicks in. 87.195.101.155 10:41, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

I wouldn't call it impossible, however it has just become the new Elite are in Guild Wars. The moster groups and spawn locations need to be fixed in a bad way. To have to resort to consets, summon stones, personal cons, and very specialized teams to even be able to kill ONE group is way too imbalanced. Enemy mobs are very close together, are in mobs of 7+, and have very good builds that are unpredictable because most of the Scavengers have 2 if not 3 builds they can run, so makes it impossible to plan accordingly. Arena Net needs to reduce mob sizes and move mobs apart to make this possible or I'll never get my Legendary VQ. (Usaf1a8xx 00:13, 30 July 2011 (UTC))
Yes I'm short on VQ there too, I just hope that when you finish WoC it will reset the area like WiK but the storyline seems counter to that so a fix may be necessary.
It does not reset like WiK...that was intentional tho. Once you've cleared the Afflicted it makes no sense for them to come back. And plz sign. (Usaf1a8xx 12:56, 30 July 2011 (UTC))
I think he was more meaning when you finished all of WoC. We've only had the first of three parts. 115.64.200.42 04:18, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
I should imagine the lore reason for clearing the scavengers will be part of the same questline as the one where you'll get the imperial weapons (Celestial Ministry? Directly aiding the Emperor? Either way, likely to involve making Cantha safe again.)Snowmane 04:31, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
Even if you enter with someone who hasn't complete the quest, the map is still full of scavengers. This should be reported as a bug? Pumapardo 19:32, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that sounds like a bug to me. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:39, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
Submitted a ticket to Support and got this response "The Live Team is aware of the issue you described, but we do not have a specific time frame for a fix to this issue." I'm hoping for sooner rather than later. (Usaf1a8xx 02:28, 9 August 2011 (UTC))
Thanks for letting us know. (Having worked professionally with QA teams, we do not have a specific time frame almost always translates to, we think it should be fixed, but our bosses haven't allocated development time and/or we have a fix, but there's no room in the currently scheduled updates (quality control prevents throwing every queued change into the next update) ).
In other words.... later is more likely than sooner (but: it's more likely to be fixed than not). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:34, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Vanquish after WoC[edit]

moved from Talk:Minister Cho's Estate

This is nearly impossible to finish now... 8 vs 4ppl, not a single chance... I mean i have vanquished everything 3,5 times but this is impossible... maybe with maintank or something like this farm crap :/ any other ideas? --Kali Shin Shivara 16:05, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Only thing I can say is to wait until WoC is done, before you attempt to vq factions. Maybe after it's done, it might can return so it'd be better to vq. It's hard in normal mode with any new character on anyone that's done WoC or any new character that joins those that do or have done WoC. Least done what's been released so far. @Kaisha If you finished the Quest "Rescue at Minister Cho's" they will always appear, no matter if there is someone in group that hasn't finished factions. Tried it yesterday several times. Also it was the first fullwipe in below 2-3 seconds xD, I really think I have to wait until it's finished. Actually I vanquish NF... BEFORE Yoko is on Rampage --Kali Shin Shivara 13:04, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

I did it sucessfully yesterday using 3 rits and a necro. 5 consets and 13 gastly summoning stones. In about 4 hours 20 mins.

I've done it with Afflicted and "Rescue at Minister Cho's" Quest in 2 hours and 360+ Enemies, but nice to know that they've changed it. ^^ --Kali Shin Shivara 14:42, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Vanquisher counts[edit]

Could people list their counts (and, ideally, post screen shots) of their successful VQ runs of this area? Everyone who's told me a number in-game as reported > 500 (although I haven't tried it myself, during the rescue in HM, we killed over 240 foes and the progress bar hadn't reached the 50% mark).

Please note whether you had completed the Rescue in NM only, also in HM, or you did the VQ during the HM rescue. Thanks! — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:34, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

If it wasn't so darn hard I'd do it...still holding out for an update or WoC content that fixes the difficulty. (Usaf1a8xx 22:00, 6 August 2011 (UTC))

VQ count during Rescue HM quest was 350 (1,750 gold/exp).--Guild Free 04:15, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the data. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 04:17, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
I got this shot from the past http://www8.pic-upload.de/02.09.11/tgdgugynsgjg.jpg 1770 gold/exp --Kali Shin Shivara 14:53, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Post 1Sep11 Update VQ[edit]

Just completed the VQ now that they did the update to reduce the spawn size of groups...took about an hour and a half, 244 foes, no cons used. Was still pretty hard, but no longer harder than UW HM...might still be harder than FOW HM. Wiped 5-6 times, but I'm just glad to have it and my Canthan VQ title complete (Usaf1a8xx 00:50, 2 September 2011 (UTC))

Enlighten us, what heroes did you use? (You did use heroes right?) 87.195.101.155 07:50, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Post quest, I finished it a few minutes ago. 243 foes. No cons. A bunch of Merch summon stones. 115.64.200.42 10:56, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Vq'd 244 foes without Rescue quest active. -- (Mohd.Almosa 12:50, 2 September 2011
To answer IP 87, I used OQASEZJT7i7g2FCFIOniKFda on myself (War); two rits - OAWjMMgMJPYzvZm7sFttePOnJA and OAWjMMiMJPXzyJy1betrmOuLGA ; and finally a Necro - OAhiYwhMVzINN5MOxJOMV9cxAA . I probably should have used some summon stones, but that didn't occur to me til I wiped for the first time about 80 foes in and didn't feel like starting over. I honestly expected it to be a ton easier after this update than it was. I just went slow, flagged heroes, micro'd all their spirits to precast before battle, then pulled a group of 4 at a time into the mass of spirits. Melee was the most trouble due to the tons of minions, pets, wars and dervs/rangers constantly pressuring the casters. Perhaps recommend dropping anguish on the first build and bring displacement. (Usaf1a8xx 13:30, 2 September 2011 (UTC))
Thanks, I tried spiritway with a touch ranger for tanking but we wiped as soon as we came across a group with more than one resser 87.195.101.155 09:52, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Yeah no that build can't even get past the first group, switching for displacement and I'd wipe after the first encounter with a shaman... 87.195.101.155 10:12, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Some more experimentation and it seems to work if I wait for the rits to have max capacity energy first, that is until the first group with 3 healers in it... 87.195.101.155 10:25, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
4 powerstones a candy cane 10 new skills and 3 hours later it worked, thanks for the builds 87.195.101.155 13:12, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

imho still a tad too hard for casual players, tried it multiple times with heroes and cons but gave up after running into groups with more than 1 healer. 78.20.57.144 21:00, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

There may have been an update since then that isn't documented on wiki, since I got the complete vanquish with only 182 enemies, in 1h26. Took a long time, but this was deathless, without any sort of summoning stone or conset. Still, I'd say this could be considered the hardest vanquish of the game. See this image for proof, and for builds if you're interested. VibrantColors (talk) 07:48, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

Bugs?[edit]

When I knelt at the Lyssa shrine Lyssa's muse didn't come out. Just wanna see if it was an isolated incident or if its a bug.

Also noted that a large portion of the cave at the south seems to have been closed off. -- (Mohd.Almosa 00:50, 2 September 2011

don't know about the shrine issue, but having just finished the vq, there's not enemies in te cave, so shouldn't really matter unless you were trying to carto. (Usaf1a8xx 13:32, 2 September 2011 (UTC))
