A bug in this quest?[edit]

Last night with a few guildmates we vanquished the Floodplain of Mahnkelon, walking around the zone clockwise. When we got to the southern entrance of the building in the middle, we found Engineer Tosi who gave us this quest. Then we proceeded cleaning the zone, going first where the Kournans were (we did not go to the river ghost as indicated by the compas). Then when there were no ennemy left in the zone, we went to the spot marked on the radar, where there was... nothing at all! Our quest log indicated that we had completed the quest, and we just had to see Yartu for our reward, but Yartu was nowhere to be found... One of the team members had the quest Weird Waters in his quest log, and this quest adds a few Heckets fighting each other very close to where Yartu is supposed to be, so perhaps he was killed during the fight. So we left the zone, and came back directly from Rilohn Refuge. Just before engaging the Hecket group with the necro boss (Terob Roundback), I have the feeling that I saw a jinn-like creature appear at the location indicated on the radar, but when we got there, he had vanished... So we couldn't get the reward for this quest. Has anyone ever met this problem before? --Funky Jah (talk) User Funky Jah icon.jpg 09:44, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

I had this problem too -- a year later. I went in hard mode to vanquish, went around the other way (clockwise) and ran into Tosi. I went to the spot indicated on the map without fighting more kournans, but it wasn't there. It updated every one of the five groups I killed, but still didn't appear when I finished. Exit/reentry didn't cause it to pop, either. If I figure it out, I'll try to remember to post back. >< 216.114.234.182 11:17, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Just tried this quest on two different characters. Both had Weird Waters active, and Yartu would not spawn. After I completed and turned in Weird Waters, he spawned for me. 97.80.119.149 20:24, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Prerequisite?[edit]

I was trying to do this quest while in Kourna for the storyline. I tried on several occasions but Tosi would never give me the quest. The ghost appeared and chased him around but when he was done running, all seemed like it was before. By now I have finished the campaign and also the missions Rilohn Refuge, which I hadn't done before since I had chose Margrid as my hero. After doing the mission Tosi suddenly has an exclamation mark above him and giving me the quest. Is it possible completion of the Rilohn's Refuge mission is required? I had no further troubles with the quest, Yartu was there, gave me my task, I killed the Kournans and got the reward.--Fogeltje 20:02, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I think you might be right, if anyone else feels this is accurate say so, so we can add it as an requirement that you need to have picked Master of Whispers and done Rilohn Refuge.--MxBadBoy 00:49, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Vanquish[edit]

Genuine wtf moment, when came to Vq Floodplains through Kodonur 2 years later and forgot I had this quest.Tong2 17:07, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Impossible or requires abandoning?[edit]

The current bug statement says that it is "impossible" to turn in the quest later if you leave the zone before completing it. Should this be taken to mean that the character will be permanently affected, or that the quest simply needs to be abandoned and restarted? Let's not overstate the issue if it is the latter. Sure you can abandon it, but once you complete upto teh last step the NPC disappears forever on that character I think. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 14:49, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
