Talk:Rata Sum

Not only is Rata Sum an anagram of Mursaat but it appears to be located according to the new map practically on top of Maguuma Stad where the Mursaat Rally was held. Coincidence? --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 18:19, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Suggest asking Gaile. But as the Mursaat capital was supposed to be located somewhere in Maguuma Jungle, and presumable abandoned if the Mursaat was "destroted", as well as the Asura needing a new base of operations... Backsword 18:22, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
I noticed it's location appearing where Maguuma Stade is as well. I consider that a strange place for a Mursaat capital - not to mention amazingly well hidden. From the looks of the image on the page the architectural style and appearance is completely unlike Mursaat construction already seen. Besides which, I'll be very dissapointed if I was previously cheated out of more areas to explore in Prophecies. Yukiko 02:05, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Looking around at the maps page the fully revealed GW:EN map shows more clearly the area where Rata Sum is, which is further south than Maguuma Stage. Yukiko 02:12, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm in Rata Sum, and it's directly south of Maguuma Stade. Also, Rata Sum in an anagram machine, interestingly, is Sumatra, along with Mursaat. Just coincidence, likely. Ranger-faded-large.pngCalor| talk 16:20, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
They could have built there new capital in an area with "High magical powers" or however they say it, just like where they built the Central Transfer Chamber, just except here the "high magical powers" are from the mursaat rather then Primordus -- User C4K3 Signature.jpgC4K3 11:16, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Cogito Ergo Rata Sum. The asura are mursaat, but without the 'm' and the 't'. You know it. Paddymew 20:16, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

NPCs[edit]

LOL they interact! And I thought the drama between Cynn + Mhenlo was over -elviondale (tahlk) 07:02, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Ya just noticed that. Mhenlo's turning down everyone. Wonder if this is new and/or in multiple places. ~ OhYo 07:05, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

serious graphic error?[edit]

i just hired a runner to rata sum and when we got there the game crashed, leaving a msg: serious graphic error; must termainte. what was wrong and how can i fix it? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:64.59.144.86 (talk).

What video card are you using? It may be possible to prevent crashes by updating your driver, forcing directx8, disabling shaders or using a third party program such as 3d-analyze, or you may need to upgrade your video card. -- Gordon Ecker 01:23, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Yah but I can;t tell if that works for vista so considering I just got this error after beating yulma at polymock, I need the name of a newish graphics card emulate, and i've decide to not fucking care if I get banned because at this point I can't even play anymore--MxBadBoy 23:35, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes, 3d-analyze works with Vista, it's the only way I've been able to run Guild Wars with my desktop's unsupported Intel GMA 3100 series integrated graphics card. Is your graphics card supported? In other words, are you using an ATI Radeon 8500 or NVIDIA GeForce 3 Series or later with 64 megs of VRAM? If you are using a supported video card, you could contact support. If not, you're probably best off searching forums for solutions which worked for other people using the same video card model. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 02:32, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

if it helps, i've found when this happens, i minimise screen whilst loading up and then exiting Rata Sum, minimise again, just for a moment. trouble is, i dont know how long during EOTN i'm going to have to do this. i got it during Nightfall (one outpost i think) and then it was OK. but since leaving Flox's Falls i've been having probs. got bounced doing Oola's Lab. whats up with Intel cards? same(ish) spec? :o(

Latin[edit]

I've corrected the Latin note. I'm 100% not sure what the convention was on gender in the first person for deponent verbs, but I would assume it depends on the speaker (i.e., a female person uses Rata, a male uses Ratus). The verb is NOT present tense, which would be Reor. I believe the original poster translated each word separately, and got something to the effect of "I am" (sum) "having thought/ratified/verified" (rata). However, when put together, these form the present active indicative of Reor, Reri, Ratus (Rata) Sum. 69.249.223.63 04:42, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Aaaand someone just changed it back. Please stop using Google to translate your Latin. It doesn't work. This does NOT mean "I am verified". 69.249.223.63 04:21, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Outage[edit]

rata sum won't load since the outage, is it just me?--86.42.88.233 19:47, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
