Miss?[edit]

Uh, is there any particular reason why the article calls her Miss Ree Soesbee? Her gender is obvious from the image and use of feminine pronouns, and mention of a PhD implies she should be Dr. I'm removing the pointless title. --Mme. Donelle 13:45, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Ree actually does not have her Ph.D as she gave up pursuing it for the opportunity to work for Areanet. The 'Miss' part may be for several reasons, one that she is unmarried, but also she is incredibly shy about public knowledge of her relationships. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.194.72.10 (talk) at 20:55, 17 April 2012 (UTC).

epic failure at gw2.[edit]

In short: She takes away personal elements and attachment between actual roleplayers and their characters, by railroading them to templates, and effectively making the supposedly "personal" elements in their biographies another type of character sheet. Other than that, characters are also railroaded to live in a capital city, and treat one lesser race with positive discrimination (racism?). Are you sure you want millions of racists running around in gw2? --Boro 10px‎ 17:05, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Entrancing tale, brethren. --talk Large 19:04, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
1) This isn't the GW2Wiki. 2) Stop trolling, honestly. 3) Good/real roleplayers can learn to ignore the official story, and they should - we can't have a million people killing Shiro running around after all (or the Great Destroyer who was killed by a small group of adventurers). Suspension of disbelief is required to roleplay in any pre-made online storyline. Konig/talk 19:32, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
It's not just official story, a.k.a. fluff, but actual game mechanics as well, since one who has a sympathy for a race can't kill certain quest NPC-s, and traditionally anet has a history of making allied NPC-s people want to see impaled, decapacitated, or killed in any imaginable brutal way. In short it's fluff ascended into crunchhood, and it takes away the personal touch to it, since you are no longer in control of the character, it's not YOUR character anymore, it's one of the many thousand identical humans(/charr/sylvary/etc) with the same story and same restrictions imposed by the game. It's like in guild wars, you are forced to royally fuck over and massacre the entire white mantle, and by writing some half-arsed fluff telling everyone who did not concede with their railroad that they were doing it wrong. --Boro 10px‎ 20:32, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
