Talk:Restore Life

That note makes no sense to me: at 11 healing, a party member is resurrected with 53% health. Problem being that at 15% DP they technically have (480*.85)-(5*75)-50= minus 17 health. Now, 53% of -17 is -9, which means you come back dead. --Maestro Ed 20:52, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Your maximum health cannot be below 0, so the percentage of 53% then rounds 0.53 to one, which allows the res. I think. Lord of all tyria 20:57, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Lol[edit]

Whats up with the 55 note :P, whom ever died 55ing is not worth resing lols Aljazya 01:22, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

In good old 55/SS Underworld teams, sometimes the 55 gets unlucky and gets nailed by one of those Dying Nightmares, not much they can do about it. The SS (or Famine, depending on the team) generally uses Rebirth to pull the body back, then something like this or Resurrection Chant to bring them back. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:50, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Meh, only terribad 55s die. SB to counter Rend gogo. Dark Morphon(contribs) 13:08, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
If you're with a 55, you're probably a SS, Famine, or Smiter of some sort. And hell, you've generally got extra skill slots anyway. No reason not to bring a little extra insurance. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 20:22, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Don't forget 1hp BiP necros. KStarfire 09:17, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Activation time decreased[edit]

I've been to get away with casting this spell, in RA, ever since they lowered the casting time to 4 seconds! --ShadowFog 16:28, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Hear hear, the more rez in RA the better! Elder Angelus 19:27, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

excellent skill to bring back casters with. Although on a monk renew life is still going to be better since u can actualy pull off rezing someone mid battle and healing any dmg team had taken in the 4 sec. This belongs on some one with mid-range healing prayers.--Justice 08:37, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

This games big with sexual touching isn't it, what with the Abbadon thing and all. --Saberhagen User Saberhagen Wiki Sig5.png(My Talk) 08:05, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
I laugh even more at this due to the striking resemblance that the face in the skill icon looks like Michael Jackson. ELL OHH ELL! --Curin Derwin 05:51, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Skill Capturing[edit]

Thought we only do that section when the skill trainer is in an area equal to or greater than the boss? Not that any body cares on this skill anyhow. Justice 06:53, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

So I noticed that this could be capped pretty early in game and that the capture section had zones mid way through the game. Came to the talk page to see if any one had commented on that and found I did over 8 years ago. Awkward... Justice (talk) 06:58, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
To be fair, every capture location is later than the first time you can purchase this skill, so the information (while technically correct) is fairly moot. - Infinite - talk 19:27, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
The only places it could be relevant is if you were a non-prophecies character and only head forwards from LA, and so you'd miss out until emberlight camp. Loggy (talk) 21:02, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
This is true. I will revert it. Justice (talk) 01:53, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
I think the above comments sooner imply the previous version without the SoC information was the correct revision, because of the extremely niche situation. Otherwise this revision sets precedent to include such a section for all non-elite skills, even if their skill trainers are reached relatively easy or chronologically sooner.
If we use this section, it should probably be reserved for non-elite skills that cannot be purchased until near the end of a campaign, but captured somewhere early on. I think the exceptions shouldn't be the rule. - Infinite - talk 09:54, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
I looked through the monk resurrection skills and the main solid non-elite 3 are restore life, resurrection chant and renew life which all happen to be in healing prayers. Resurrection Chant can be acquired in Kaineng for faction players. However nightfall characters do not have access to Renew Life until vabbi/desolation. If they have factions they could just go to kaineng but if they only have prophecies otherwise or choose to run the campaigns in order, I think having its capture in midgame would be ok. And also the work for it is already done. I don't have any stake in it either way. Justice (talk) 08:50, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
There's one more resurrection spell belonging to that profession the travelers shouldn't certainly disregard, as its effectiveness excels that of the above-mentioned ones under certain circumstances, where the majority of the party has got unexpectedly taken down and the area is yet unsafe from local spawns or patrols. In that case, not re-acquiring the aggro becomes really important, and teleportation from Rebirth turns to be essential. Dmitri Fatkin (talk) 01:59, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
In any case, I doubt any player would sacrifice a Signet of Capture on Restore Life rather than backtrack to the previous skill trainer, or wait until the next one. The information is superfluous from a gaming POV. - Infinite - talk 07:04, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
Signet of Capture is available in the Guild Hall and also various skill trainers throughout kryta. It is the price of any skill based on how many you have bought already making it no different than buying a given skill if it were immediately available. The quest The False Gods from ToA puts a monk boss just outside a short distance making it an easy capture. The reason I didn't include Rebirth in my little list is that its not really comparable to the combat resurrection skills. Justice (talk) 19:39, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
