I think of this mainly as an offensive tool, with the handy side effect of removing hexes. It turns a hex on myself or a teammate into a ticking time bomb for flattening nearby mobs.--Duke of Silence 21:51, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

AI Bug?

As far as i noticed with Dunham, Odurra and the mesmer-heroes as well it seems they use this skill more on minions or allies instead of their own party. Worst example would be 6 Enemies around my Koss and Gwen didn't use this on her own to get Empathy of him. Just pointing it out cause i don't thhink it's intended. Late but I noticed this as well recently in Pre-Searing. Charr Chaot used to (2005-2007) spam this skill to punish hex players in pre. Now (2018) they almost NEVER cast this. The one time I triggered this skills use in 3 runs of The Northlands was when fighting one of the bosses and a partrol Chaot came in and cast a Shatter Hex on him doing 108 damage to me because I was frenzied. Is this skill bugged for AI or something? The note says on party members only but this actually seems to be the opposite with it being on non-party-member allies only. Heros use this skill on recharge if conditions are met and as expected. Charr Chaot will ONLY use this on non-party-member allies. Tested on Charr in pre and charr outside Grendich Courthouse (same as pre charr). Its weird and probably broken ai. Justice (talk) 05:25, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

I've seen heroes and henchies use this skill on allies ALOT. I suggest removing that note.

Works well with Dervish primaries

I use this with my Dervish/Mesmer all the time. Very useful against Corsairs. It works well with the play style of dervishes, that is to say, it does mass effect damage. I take on Avalanches all the time with it: Empathy, then Heart of Holy Flame, Shatter Hex and Eternal Aura then bye bye Avalanche. --La Visiteuse 21:52, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
