These guys have become insane in hard mode since the buff of Aura of Faith. What page shall I complain on to get someone who can fix it to examine the issue? 74.129.68.132 01:26, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

I don't know which page you could complain on, but I found Soul Bind, Rip Enchantment and Envenom Enchantments helped me to vanquish the area, just you can't take on more than 3 of them with their other allies. ( When you encounter the mob of four Protectors in Deldrimor Bowl you can hit them until they run out of energy. ) --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 07:01, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Goddamn this place is hard, insane amounts of healing. Yeah taking a curses necro is good, too bad the centaurs kill him in 2 blows.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:81.84.45.199 (talk).

I pretty much keep getting owned in every area that these fuckers are in. I'm getting pretty rage after spending an hour vanquishing 3/4ths of an area and getting to a mod of 3 of these guys and not being able to kill anything. 67.82.179.27 16:44, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Actually not too difficult[edit]

I had trouble with these until I switched to three mesmers. They were fine after that. I recommend this:

And just whatever else. I did the Deldrimor Bowl vanquish with these, an SoS ritualist, a NRt healer and an HB monk (myself) with no problems. I encountered several groups of 3-4 protectors. It might have been faster if I'd brought an extra damage dealer but this was fine. 96.61.78.97 02:43, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Panic shits on most areas, yes. That's less reflective of any particular area's difficulty and more of the skill being hilariously imbalanced. -Auron 17:50, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
For bar compression run only two mesmers max: one domination and one illusion. Neither Power Block nor Migraine are good elites in PvE. Neither is Backfire a decent skill [in PvE]. Consider Power Lock for excessive interrupts if these guys still bother you. - Infinite - talk 09:19, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

HM[edit]

So i put SS on them, and I can say that with SS at rank 6 curses [17 dmg], SS is doing more damage than Vigorous is healing for, so Healing Prayers is less than 12... -Chieftain Alex 00:56, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

IS 12. -Chieftain Alex 01:01, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
I reckon these bastards have a +1 (20%) or something, attributes sometimes different. -Chieftain Alex 01:36, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Is the Shiverpeak Protector enchanted with Vigorous Spirit and Aura of Faith at the same time? Aura of Faith would increase the healing from Vigorous Spirit and decrease the damage from Spiteful Spirit. --Silver Edge 01:43, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
He wasn't no, but I was getting inconsistent results with whether the hp stayed the same or not. -Chieftain Alex 01:59, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Just by counting pixels, it looks like the combined health gain of them casting purge conditions on themselves with vigorous active was ~40hp, so their divine favor can't be very high in hm... 8 or so? Can't believe my results, i'll try again tomorrow. --Chieftain Alex 02:04, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Using Strip Enchantment at r15, 65 dmg (when it only has Vigorous Spirit active resulting in no enchantments left);
  • 65 hp health loss = 205 pixels from right hand side
  • 29 pixels from right hand side after casting two spells on itself (purge, then vigorous)
  • 205-29 = 176 pixels healed => 55.805 hp healed
  • 55.805 / 2 spells = 27.9 hp healed
  • 27.9 / 3.2 = 8.72 rank of divine favor ~r9
Using "You Move Like a Dwarf!" at r10, 80 dmg when no enchs are active;
  • 80 direct damage = 252 pixels from right hand side
  • 132 pixels healed, 42.857 hp healed (after only using purge conditions, triggering divine favor once)
  • 42.857 / 3.2 = 13.09, ~r13 divine favor.
Using the health stated on Level as 100%,
100% = 600hp (lvl 23) = 1886 pixels
(80 damage/600 max health = 0.13%*1886 = 251.5 pixels lost, which ties in with the ymlad pixel count)
Before purge conditions : 1634 pixels = (1634/1886)*600 = 519.83 hp
After purge conditions : 1766 pixels = 561.82 hp
Divine Favor heal = 561.82 - 519.83 = 42 hp
42 hp = r13 divine favor.
After casting Vigorous spirit
1810 pixels = 575.82 hp
After it attacks once
1845 pixels = 586.95 hp
11.13 hp healed = r6 healing prayers
Reaper's Mark -4, Life Siphon -3, Faintheartedness -2 = -9 degen.
plus Healing Breeze = 0 regeneration. Definitely healing prayers between 14, 15 + 16.
Pixel counting sucks, I don't know why the results are different between ymlad + strip enchantment. -Chieftain Alex 11:57, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Switched skills to You're All Weaklings + Necrosis
full health: 1886 pixels = 600
after using 90 dmg necrosis: 1602 pixels = (600 - 90) = 510 hp (matches with assumptions on max hp from pixel calculation)
1753 pixels after using vigorous = 557.688 hp (based on 600hp/1886px)
heal = 557.688 - 510 = 47.688hp
48hp = 15 Divine favor, +1 for weakness = 16 Divine favor.
Don't care about results above >.< -Chieftain Alex 12:23, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

NM[edit]

healing prayers
Life Siphon -3, Faintheartedness -2 = -5 degen.
plus Healing Breeze = 0 regeneration. Definitely healing prayers between 2-4.
240hp = 1886px
382px = 48.611hp after casting vigorous spirit
438px = 55.737hp, after wanding once.
55.737 - 48.611 = 7.126hp
2 healing prayers. (agreement between 2 tests so would say result seems ok)
divine favor
before vigorous, 1469 px = (1469/1866)*240 = 188.938 hp
after casting , 1618 px = (1618/1866)*240 = 208.102 hp
heal = 208.102 - 188.938 = 19.164 hp
rank = 19.164/3.2 = 5.998
~= r6 divine
-Chieftain Alex 12:54, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Casting only You're all weaklings
300 px : previous hp
402 px : hp after casting purge conditions
((402-300)/1866)*240 = 13.119 hp : heal from casting purge
13.119 / 3.2 per divine rank = ~4 divine
+1 for weakness ~r5 divine favor
Seems like rounding is going to mess this up. -Chieftain Alex 13:07, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
