Talk:Spirit Shackles

I have used this skill, and yes, it's effective against the Assassin and Ranger (the Ranger would literally have to stop attacking to do something and the Dervish uses the energy bar a lot too) but like the Band-Aid, this alone won't stop them from doing the damage that they are already dealing. If you have some "backup", in a form of a skill or teamwork, it is useful. Don't expect to stop an Assassin with this alone and with no teammate.--ShadowFog 19:30, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Don't forget paragons! Best counter there is. — Skuld 19:31, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

It seems that this skill can't be aquired from Micah Fergson (Eye of the North (outpost)). Someone please confirm...DisturbedHR 16:27, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Wouldn't this skill work good combined with aneurisym? -Icy- 69.159.200.89 00:30, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Against average Warriors Aneurisym gives 60-99 points of damage after 4-7 attacks by them, 15 points more vs melee Assassins,Rangers and Dervishes. For more consistant damage, a high spec in Domination Magic for mind wrack would act as a cover hex, add more consistent damage and not benefit the enemy. 87.74.2.168 00:30, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

OR you could use both. Spirit Shackles, Mind Wrack (to cover), Anyeurism, and hell why not try being more annoying and be a Me/R with your elite as Quicksand....lmfao Adamaxis 20:30, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

famine would be better. quicksand is just annoying for anyone on the map.--Justice 08:08, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

this doesn't have any related skills on its page but the visage skills both say they are related to it :P 72.45.63.76 07:09, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't bother with Anyeurism, and head straight for this + Empathy. If it takes 4-7 attacks for Anyeurism to do ~100 dmg, 2 attacks with Empathy will do 100+, and keep going... The Duke of Silence 22:03, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Meh, most players aren't that stupid. I'd prefer putting on Ancestor's Visage since that's less obvious and is almost the same in terms of disabling a player's ability to inflict damage. That in combination with weakness, you wouldn't have to run. Place empathy on them and they'd stop or let them kill themselves first before finishing you off. --80.16.169.162 14:46, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
I will keep Ancestor's Visage in mind next time I go Illusion vice Dom in the areas that I normally take Empathy + Spirit Shackles. The Duke of Silence 13:31, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Adding related note: Empathy?[edit]

Empathy incurs a similar effect; should this be noted in the related notes/skills section? Taka Ragranok 07:36, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I just reread this…and my mind, at 3am and being fairly tired, mistook energy as damage…>.< Sorry. Disregard. Taka Ragranok 07:37, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Conditions[edit]

I noticed the foe won't lose energy if he's interrupted by Clumsiness or Wandering Eye. Should that be noted, or that normal?--Ph03n1x 03:38, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

No, because Clumsiness and the like interrupt the attack, so it's rather obvious that that Spirit Shackles doesn't trigger. --Healing Burst.jpgKdsHealer page talk 03:58, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
