Talk:Sun and Moon Slash

This skill gives 1 strike of adrenaline. Because you attack twice. All adrenal skills set your entire bar back 1 strike of adrenaline, and attack skills give you 1 strike, giving you a bonus of O. SaMs gives you 1 more strike, and you're gaurenteed a hit unless blinded. Halabala Opolis Tuesday Sep. 4, 2007

It's fun with Conjure Flame, that's all I have to say. KrelusDerian 21:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Free 6 energy when used with Warrior's Endurance. :D Halogod35 19:39, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion[edit]

"Attack target foe twice, dealing +5...15 damage each hit. If you are not using a stance, these attacks cannot be blocked."

This would make Sun and Moon Slash fairly useful damage wise. Making unblockability conditional would compensate the additional damage, as most warriors are using stances in order to increase attack or movement speed. --Teisei 22:14, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Unconditional unblockable is a lot more useful than +damage.--Fallen (talk) 01:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
You made a point there. But I think the unblockability is more valuable in PvP than it is in PvE. --Teisei 10:10, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Not using a stance? If you are not using a stance then you are just a bad warrior. SaMS is already great in both PvP and PvE. In the PvE the unblockability is less useful, but attacking twice with orders, SoH and vampiric ~ +60 ish damage alone, not to mention the base dmg from both attacks. All in all, its a great skill as it is.71.120.181.88 16:46, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Spammable[edit]

Since this attack give 2 strikes of adrenaline it can be made spammable. Add a dark fury + orders character (dark fury gives you 1 strike of adrenaline for each hit.) and you get 4 strikes for each hit. Add "For Great Justice" and you get 8 adrenaline back from using it, so you can use it again right away. Spammable double unblockable attacks :-).

Dark fury orders necro. S+M Slashers use ias. YAY 98.221.120.211 21:55, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Note[edit]

Is it really wise to mention Shield Bash as one of those skills? Sun and Moon Slash is unblockable anyway. Kds Healerpage talk 19:52, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Dragon's Throat[edit]

This skill is also available at the skill trainer in Dragon's Throat

Attribute: Swordsmanship[edit]

Is it worth noting how this skill behaves if you use Anniversary Sword "Prominence"? Since that sword falls under Expertise, I'd assume that it would make Sun and Moon Slash's damage scale with Expertise. The conclusion would be that its attribute is of no consequence, and that its damage scales with the attribute of your equipped sword. Has anyone verified this? -arnosluismans (talk) 07:26, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

Looks like a normal behavior to me. The skill does not scale with sword mastery, it makes the character attack twice with its sword, even if that sword is Prominence. Or am I missing something in what you say ? - - Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 08:42, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
I think this falls under "so obvious it doesn't require mentioning". --DANDY ^_^ -- 09:32, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Works as prescribed. Thus not note-worthy imo. Steve1 (talk) 10:08, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
I do think this kind of interaction is interesting (e.g. how to make maximum use of the Anniversary weapons without investing in their default attribute), but such synergies are beyond the purview of the skill articles (and the weapon articles, for that matter). Aqua (talk) 10:10, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
The reason why I think it's interesting is because this means that SaMS is assigned to an attribute without actually being affected by that attribute. I don't think there are many skills like that in the game. -arnosluismans (talk) 14:01, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
Warrior has a few more of those, actually --DANDY ^_^ -- 14:10, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
