Frequency of the test

I'm not sure the test is annual. Mantle Knight Franklin says that the test is administered "every year, at the turn of each season", the latter part of which suggests to me that it is on a quarterly basis. - 80.229.245.222 00:23, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

The game has, as far as I've found, two sources that refer to the test being a seasonal event. You've found one and the other is the Shaemoor Villagers. Their dialogue seems to imply that the test is a seasonal event, especially since it refers to those taken as never returning.

However, The Story of the White Mantle states that "each year, the Mantle selected promising Krytan citizens", implying it is an annual event. It is also a newer release than the game itself, coming from the War in Kryta release. Whether or not that phrasing could be a simpler way of referring to the seasonal testing is up for debate, but typically the most recent release is more likely to be the accurate one.
